What an amazing machine! There really is nothing this helicopter can't do. I salute all of the pilots who fly these helicopters. They're very well trained.
I was lucky enough to stay at RAF Odiham as an Air Cadet back in the late 80's & it was the best camp I ever went on. We were watching displays like this daily, Chinooks & Puma's doing things I never knew helicopters could do. Awesome! Thanks for he vid Topfelya,

Some basic generalizations 1) That's a hell of a helicopter 2) There doesn't seem to be anything it can't do. 3) All pilots of these craft have mad skills at flying 4) They also must be a little bit crazy. Bravo zulu to them!
Our “common core” was called Primary and we flew th-55, which were a blast. Too bad they did away with them. If you could fly them you could fly anything. Got to do hundreds of autos to the ground.
To get a transition you need to focus on your scores and grades. Top of the class will get to pick whatever is available when that class graduates. We got the first 2 Apaches back in ‘86. And 1 shithook.

Usually there’s only about 1-5 chinook slots per class and they’re almost always the first to go. Literally never heard someone say a bad thing about them, they’re incredible aircraft with a great mission.
Good ol' Dunsfold, I saw this routine being rehearsed whilst shooting a film in the Top Gear hanger, it was the first time I'd seen the wheelie being pulled off by such a beast. God that was back in 2014! I hate getting old.

The Chinooks would be great for coast guard search and rescue missions involving ships,it would be able to take more people in than the current helicopters being used, not knocking the current helicopters though they are a welcome sight for people in trouble in the water but Chinooks could carry out rescue missions involving oil tankers, cruise ships and other large vessels,

so many people hate the Chinook CH-47, i love them, you can put beds, full bath or what ever your heart desires, kinda reminds me of a 200 million dollar 747, but the Chinook CH-47 can hover in one spot, and land where it wants.

No it was solid on contact with runway, what you seeing is possibly an optical illusion due to angle of camera and runway slope, looking like right rear eas going flat.
