Great video explore. Very cool too going through the time zone. I did that driving to Chicago one time from Sarnia and it freaked me out until I realized what happened Lol
That was a interesting bridge structure, ---- Just a side note, that beaver dam is symmetrical looking; intelligent beaver colony? Make me think of the kids TV cartoons on Saturdays where thy portrayed a beaver in overalls with a tool belt and a hat.
Ya, they are pretty amazing and efficient builders. They are pretty nasty too if you get them upset. Had one come at growling and hissing as I probably got too close to where he was. I was just minding my own business and trying to get past on the path!
Yes, I have done that in the past (without luck unfortunately). I should have done that here but I didn't think of it at the time. As you probably heard me say in the videos, I was through the area in late September with my truck. I brought a shovel and could have easily thrown the detector in the back seat, but I had a million other things on my brain. That day I recorded both the railway and stream tunnels, the underside of the bridge, a couple of concrete culverts you'll see in the coming weeks and I had the drone up as well. There are a few other water tanks further up the line I'll be looking for, so I'll have to remember it in the future.
@@padwrr Possibly in the future. You are going to these lengths and breadths to document these lines. Seems fitting. But, then again I'm not physically doing it.
I'm going to put in on the list. These railway explorations are becoming quite the ordeal lol. You've probably noticed that I have notes for each point of interest. These are printed out pages right from my website so that way I don't forget any of the details, and then I'll make notes on that sheet for any thing like spurs, flag stops, etc. Need to win the lottery so I have time to do everything I want to!
@ It is a long haul, but only 9.5k from the nearest road (I did practically two hikes that day hence the longer distance). In any case, you can see why prefer to bike. There are going to be some longer hikes coming up this year. Certainly I would have been neat to see these structures from the train, but at least people can still see them after the fact.

Thanks. It messes you up a bit as it flip flops in this area depending on what cell tower your phone is pulling in. You really need to pay attention.
the bridge is a good structure any old rail way bridge is always neat to see the structures are always interesting
@@WorldT More on the way!
Thank you!
You're welcome!

@@padwrr I was aware that can be nasty buggers.
A thought. Have you ever thought of employing a metal detector to locate elements of a structure; in this case the elusive water tank.

I absolutely love your videos Dave! Keep up the good work. Guessing the pelicans were gone from when we were there in Sept.
@ Thanks buddy.
No pelicans unfortunately. Surprised I didn’t see any moose in all the swamps I rode by.
We’ll have to head again in the spring!
That is a cool bridge. Sad that it is just sitting there with no real purpose anymore.
Well, it is true that it is not longer in use as a rail bridge, but at least it is still carrying some traffic who get to enjoy the view.
@ I love the view but I could not walk the 20 km to get there. LOL. It would have been interesting back in the day when the trains were running.

@ On that note, thank you for all your hard work in documenting all this for us and the viewing public.
You're welcome. Thanks for following along. Lots more planned for planned for the upcoming year!
