Men put SO MUCH value on these tasks when THEY do them but when women do them, these same tasks lose value. Just like in the regular work place! Men apply more value to THEIR time & effort vs. women's time & effort, no matter what the task.
It is also very important that men take care of their wives during pregnancy. All the dads to be, this is what you should do for your pregnant wife. Take on the bulk of the domestic duties (cooking, cleaning, etc.) to lift the burden off the shoulders of the woman carrying your child. If she experiences late night cravings, go get it for her. You should also probably bring her breakfast in bed. She may experience itchy belly skin. Offer to rub lotion on her tummy. If you are anything like my husband, you will enjoy rubbing your wife as much as she enjoys being rubbed. Rub the bump often. The baby should know what your touch feels like. She won't be able to fit into her clothes. She might experience swollen feet. Let her borrow your clothes, including and especially your shoes. Also, rub her feet. When she experiences morning sickness, hold her hair back. Do not comment on how big she has gotten or how much she is eating. Tell her that she looks gorgeous and ask her if she would like some more food. Also, clean up after her. If she is trying to trim her toe nails and she can't, because her stomach is too big, offer to trim her toe nails for her.
I've heard new babies run through about a dozen diapers a day.... so he's done less than 2 days worth of diapers. Also, his wife could have pumped and he could bottle feed but he didn't feed the baby at all. The man's stats are weak!
His wife is struggling to piece herself back together, every day getting slightly closer to being a full human again, but it will takes years to feel normal again, the smallest progress like putting on a clean shirt, taking a shower, going for a walk, cause for celebration........and he's tracking and keeping stats on HIS progress.
He's tracking this? WTAF?! She just had major abdominal surgery and is handling a newborn.....and he's only making some of the meals....and taking personal shits?! What a child he is!
And, like, counting diapers, sure, that’s a stat for taking care of the baby. But did he really just brag about his sh*t? He’s not the one who just had abdominal surgery, nobody cares about his sh*t!
😂 I am going to advocate that he might not actually be serious that this makes him a machine. Maybe it is bad man humour? Anyway. My husband was a rockstar and did at least 90% of the baby care - even getting up to help me with the breastfeeding most of the time - for the first 2 weeks as I healed from an emergency c section. So some men do do this work. He was also the primary parent for our second born when life had me back to work at 4 months and him unemployed. We chose to then have him be the stay at home parent until the youngest was 18months. Best. Decision. Ever.
A grown up man says he heated dinners and expects what? Kissing him on the forehead? Well, hello, you're an adult and you have to prepare food throughout your life, that's the real world 🤷🏼♀️
I think that little competition he had with himself in order to be a more equitable partner would be a great way to make the mental load more fun and less stressful but I wouldn't want a trophy. Just something a stat nerd would do to make the work more fun. :)
Literally skipped the part where he was talking after he started reading off how many times he made or heated up dinner. Reminded me too much of my dad after he wanted praise for doing a sinkload of dishes one time in the entire year. Like thanks you did what I have been doing since I could reach the top of the sink. How helpful, still had to redo some of them because he left stuff stuck on.
Involution is still a thing on top of the c section too and breast feeding triggers episode s of it. Because of the amount of coffee mentioned I doubt he is getting sleep though
