    Great video! Don't understand the negative comments, as I had no problem following your great advice:) Please do more basic videos that focus on installing the 3d software, loading cura slicer profiles for your printer (where to get the profiles), and how to update your printers firmware. Marlin firmware upgrades scare me and would love a detailed video on upgrading my CR 10 S Pro:)

    Good video. I’m here because I’m thinking of adding a 3D printer to my shop. I was at a trade show 6 years ago and saw a 3D printer. I asked how much... the rep said “55k”... I said I can pay 3 or 4x for a machine and it’ll pay for itself within 18 to 24 months.
    Now that I’m seeing industrial grade ones for a lot cheaper, it seems plausible to do so for a one off or prototype work.

    Is there any health hazard can be caused by 3d printers if used in a living room and ppl around it ? is it loud while operating ? is there any heat generated ?

    • @3DNow
      @3DNow  5 лет назад +3

      The melting plastic can be toxic, but it depends on the material. Most printers do make noise, but it depends on the printer, and some heat is generated from the nozzle and build plate, but not too much in the room it is in.

    hey bro! I have some basic questions... I've seen that a lot of people on youtube that shows, which printer they recommend, or they explain how it works, but I can't find how to maintain the 3D printer. I've ordered an ender-3 printer and the reason why I choose this one is because it is cheap good looking and I think it will be fine for me, and it was also recommended by some guys on youtube. since I have like almost no clue about this stuff, I'm really interested how you maintain it, like what should you do when you finish with printing, do you need to clean the nozzle and if how? and I also don't know how often would you change the nozzle, or how you know its ready to be changed... tnx for reply

    • @3DNow
      @3DNow  5 лет назад +2

      Hi! After a print finishes, take out the spool and put it back into its plastic bag. That's it. You don't need to clean the nozzle unless you are switching filament. Just turn the heat up a little higher and let the new filament run through for a little. The brass nozzles usually never have to be changed with PLA unless you are using abrasive materials and the nozzle hole is getting bigger. If you are constantly printing carbon fiber, then the circle hole on the nozzle will probably wear out after a while. The signs are the filament coming out of the nozzle not in a straight line, but curling everywhere. I hope that helps.

    • @dejanpajic1061
      @dejanpajic1061 5 лет назад

      tnx bro that helps a lot :) nah i just started.. so for now, until i don't learn some basics ill keep evrything on an easy lvl, and PLA i think will do the trick :) but if i will have some more questions ill ask :)

    • @3DNow
      @3DNow  3 года назад

      For a car part, it's really unlikely to find a cad model. You usually would have to model that yourself. You can check online, though. I made a video about where to find 3d models to print.

  • @cavemanabc
    @cavemanabc 4 года назад

    Hey I just subscribed after watching the first part! I’m new to this 3D printing stuff so if my question sounds silly sorry: If I wanted to use a carbon fiber filament do I need a special kind of 3D printer or can I just get any 3D desktop one and a nozzle that can handle the abrasive nature of carbon fiber? Thanks

    • @3DNow
      @3DNow  4 года назад

      Most printers will work, but it needs to be able to heat the nozzle up to a high enough temperature and you do need an abrasive resistant nozzle. A heated bed is needed as well for most filaments.

    • @AndrewMerrick
      @AndrewMerrick 4 года назад

      3d scanners create a massive amount of data usually in the form of a point cloud. Most output to OBJ files which you would normally import into a 3d modelling program to clean them up. .STL format uses surface tessellation to ensure there are no overlaps or gaps. Scanned objects are full of gaps and overlaps and extra information that does not relate to the finished product. What kind of scanner? LASER, Photo, XRay?

    The first video I was able to follow OK but this one, yikes! Seems like if you already knew about 3d printing then you can follow but if you are totally new then forget it. Every term, every bit of info just went right over my head. It was too much, too fast and in my opinion not for a beginner. BUT thanks though cause I can now take your video and individually research each topic you spit out and learn. At least I have a launch base.

    Music annoying!!! As a beginner you are already over my head. Between Part 1 and 2 you are too deep in your presentation for a "BEGINNER".

    I have to agree that you seem to be racing thru some sort of overview! I've just gotten to the 5:39 mark and have learned NOTHING!

    OMG, I couldn't make it all the way through your video. Between the background music being so annoying that I wanted to punch my monitor, and unfortunately your speech patterns being so mumbly, I had to go. You seem like a talented young man. Ditch the background noise, and make yourself a script to follow, and I'm sure it will help you slow down a bit and enunciate your words properly. Sorry but I just couldn't hang with you.

      Wanting to punch your monitor over music isn't his problem, that's yours mate.
