So I haven’t ever finished a colored glue book but it helps sometimes not always to do full page colored pages rather than the small snip it’s.. but it will take a pretty long time but you’ll truly love it once you start it and get out of the fearful stages 😂.. don’t fret too much about it tho..
It's so great that you started glue book. I'm doing glue book since the last few years. Just a few tips that maybe will help you. Don't think too much. And separate your colours. Put them in basket or envelopes. So happy gluing .

Hi my name is Elaine from the UK, I've been gluebooking for a while now but I've just started my first colour gluebook so I'm just setting mine up and you've just gotta do it the way you feel is right for you... I don't colour match to my washi tape I just use them as that's the colour for that page... I think the main thing is you're having fun and you are enjoying whatever way you want to do it. I can't record at the moment as I've recently had surgery but I do intend to when I'm fit enough to do it. Just a little reminder that any gaps or words etc you will be able to cover those when you're putting down your 'pretty' images so I wouldn't worry about them to much at this stage.... I'm glad you've enjoyed getting going... It feels good doesn't it just to get your first glued in piece done 😁😁❤️ have fun xx

My glue book is reallya mixed media book. My backgrounds include masking tape pieces, torn sticky notes, cut up sudoku page. Medicine ingredient warning pages. Torn paper bags. Just have fun.

While watching you go through your scraps , sort them into color piles. I loved how you said you were just ticked to find different patterns to cut out. You will never stop seeing things in a magazine layout now. Again, congrats on getting started and just have fun. Get some baskets, baggies or color coordinated folders to hold your stash.

I have been wanting to start glue-booking and collaging, for several years.... I don't really know EXACTLY what's keeping me from starting.... I have been collecting images for a very long time, so my collection is out of control, and I have similar issues as you were describing ... where there's a lot of things I don't want to cover up... and many of my images are TOO big to fit in whatever I might choose.... but I recently found an old, giant sketchbook, that I can use for those.... but I STILL haven't started.... I don't know what my deal is. Anyway.... Thank you for sharing your first Glue-booking adventure. Yes, if you're having fun, and enjoying the process, that's all that truly matters. 😊👍
Ohhh I hope you can find a way to just get started somehow. I struggled in that same place for about 2 yrs and finally just jumped in. Oooo so exciting!! I watched this whole video while harvesting 5 magazines for my first ever glue book!! I have 11 different pages including celebrities. I don’t focus on color matching whatever shade of that certain color I will use. I’m loving hunting and glueing!! Cant wait to follow you along while you work on yours!! Great video ❤

Love the borders. Way to go getting started! Tip: In my opinion, you’re using too much glue. Thin magazine paper glued to paper does not need much glue.

Way to go on starting a glue book... You are more than welcome to create with tears in your paper. Glue books dont have to be perfect. You could create a page or 2or more by just tearing your paper into pieces. Dont sweat it if it does match. It's the process. Try crumpling your papers. Add tissue paper as well. Main thing is to enjoy for yourself. Have FUN!!!!
For me I put the pretty images down and use the background as filler. I have several going currently. A couple of art journals, and a couple of glue books and some that are a combination. I like what you are doing so far.

Like your washi tapes? Did you get them in amazon? If can you let me know I will love to get some myself. Maybe you are overthinking where to put your background in my opinion. However I like your idea of using big pieces in your pages. I seen many videos but when I started doing my background I just put down a lot of different shades of the color I was going for and I don’t love it. So 👍 to big images for background. Looking forward to see more videos of you filling your backgrounds.
Hi Sandra!!! This last batch of washi tape I did get from Amazon. It was a spring floral set and the valentines, st patty’s and Easter themed ones came from Amazon also. Many of my others come from hobby lobby. And yes I tend to over think most everything 😂 maybe once I get a few pages under my belt I’ll know which parts are more important to worry about and what’s not. 🤷🏻♀️ and I’m really hoping the bigger pieces help. They are just harder to find. And I have to cover up some writing but that’s what washi tape and stickers are for right? 😂 thank you so much for watching!!!!
My main glue stick of choice is scotch creates. It’s a big glue stick. It holds very well. I have trouble finding them locally so I order them on Amazon. I’ll try to add the link to the video description. The other glue stick I use once or twice in this video is pen and gear from Walmart. It’s ok but doesn’t stick quite as well.
Ok, Missy, there are no mistakes. Stop putting too much thinking into it because then it won't be fun and relaxing. I have a lot of books with NO themes. I leave room for my own thoughts. Stop thinking and just play.
