A great video of the Christmas Market and your voice reminds me of Robin Leach on the Lifestyles of the Rich and famous back in the 90s LOL
lol I can‘t tell if this is a complinment
@@NearFromHome lol it really is
I can confirm! A big compliment!
@@JustinBrehm hahah well thank you
@@toniagrantham953 lol!
Thank you for another great Christmas Market video! We just returned home to the US last week, the day before the snow in Munich. We watched your prior videos to plan our trip and loved the smaller markets, the Mittelalterlicher, Munich Freiheit and Haidhausen! The Salzburg Christmas Markets and Krampuslauf were wonderful too. Thanks for your help! Prost!
Thanks so much! 🥰 Glad to have helped!
We just did Christmas Markets in Germany but more of Cologne and Nuremberg! It's great to see the difference! And love the walking mascots. 🤩Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! Yes, it is cool to see all the differences. :D
Hey guys, hope you’re well. Gutted we can’t get over to Germany this Christmas, we really thought we could. I know we’ve seen and commented on this one before, but we’re doing a Christmas market food video hopefully next week and thought we’d watch the experts again to remind us how you did it. Love your videos!!! Hope you’re well and hope to get over there some time soon and grab another pint with you x
Oh nooooo. So sorry! This winter storm has been a nightmare, and ruined so many peoples' plans!
Thanks so much for (re)watching haha
@@NearFromHome it’s not the storm, it’s work!!! Sadly we can’t have time off at the same time or travel far! Bad times!! We’ll live through you videos of Munich this year 🍻
Looks like so much fun! And didn’t realize there was so much of a variety to eat at a Christmas market!
Thanks! And would you believe that this diversity is only a small slice of all the stuff these markets offer?!
When you‘re in Hesse on a Christmas Market you often have a third option beside white or red Glühwein: Hot Apple cider (heißer Apfelwein) which is also awesome.
ooooooo. I didn't know it was so common in other parts of Germany.
I’m SO happy you filmed this! I love the Christmas markets. The only authentic one I’ve ever been to was in Chicago.❤❤❤ Merry Christmas, Ben and Camille!
Thanks so much! I have heard the one in Chicago makes a lot of efforts to be authentic though!
It does and it’s not very big, but it’s really nice and the most authentic that I’ve ever seen here in the States. 😊
@@NearFromHome did you? :-) well, another roaring, incredible awesome short impression what those two young people from somewhere abroad bring us germans on the golden plate. thank you both! merry x-mas, and lot more in 2023 pls. b
Nah, there are no authentic Christmas Markets in the U.S.
You manage to take culture from another place...and then you fuck it up like everything else and americanize it...
Were there HotDogs and Burgers available? Well, that's a big nonono.
@@Kivas_Fajo Funny, but no. I can see your point, but…there weren’t any hotdogs. There was however, wurst, roasted nuts, streudel, kinderpunsch, glühwein, just to name a few. About 60% of the vendors are from Germany. The food was a German-American fusion, but the mulled wine (Glühwein) was imported from Nuremberg.
“The Christkindlmarket in Chicago was initially conceived as a way to promote German-American trade, according to organizers, although there are now vendors from all over the world.” It may not be located in Europe, but at least we can experience and enjoy a little taste.
Great video on the Christmas market food and Glühwein! 😋 not a German here, but I myself love the Herz Lebkuchen, but that's just me 😆 I need to try the Elise lebkuchen!
LOVED the snow falling- looked so magical in the Christmas market 😍 🌨❄🎄
Thanks so much! Maybe we just haven‘t had a good one lol.
We were shocked, but so pleased by the huge snow we got during filming. :D
Fantastic video! We've loved trying so many of the Christmas market foods since being in Germany. Although we haven't tried all of them quite yet...Look like we have some work to do in the next few days😬
Thank! There are just so many. You have your work cut out for you lol
Munich ❤
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
... greetz from Augsburg - nice to had you here ! 😉👍
Thank you! Your city is so nice! 🥰
You have a really good day with many good delicacies
😎
Ah, we’ve got our coffee and ready to enjoy this one. First off, we love straight away that we know exactly where you are there at Isator. We follow Wonderlust for Life, good stuff. Woah, hang on a minute…white Gluhwein??? Is that even a thing??? Need to check that out, but can’t see how it would trump red wine. We will definitely be checking out your app before we come again….and we’re already talking about that. Ah, krampus…we’d love to have seen this, was this the day after we left? You’ve got some good mugs going on there but we like the ones we ended up with. Top marks for using German when you can! All that food…mmm, that beats the toast we’ve just had 😂. I think we’re enjoying the snow as much as you, the night after we saw you, the snow was really coming down when we went to Haidhauser, it really was incredible! Blimey, that’s a big sausage!! Well done Camille for finding the veggie option…so many options….well, two haha. That Lebkuchen looks mighty good!! If we would had another day, we’d have loved to have done the medieval market, we need one of those goblets. Loved it, top work both 🍻
Thanks so much!! 🥰🥰🥰
The white wine was surprisingly quite amazing! I normally prefer whit unless it's a REALLY good red, but it was legit delicious.
@@aWanderlustForLife thanks for the heads up, we’ll definitely give that a try next time we’re in Germany. Hope you had a great Christmas 🍻
CAMILLLLLLLLLE!
Great video! ;-)
Danke!
I really liked the cinematography you got in the snow! 😍 I wonder if those kind of Lebkuchen are really soft or sticky without the flour and that’s why they use the sugar paper and glaze to keep them from getting mushed or sticking together when stored/transported.
Thanks so much! The snow was too beautiful not to film.
That is a good point. The inside were not incredibly structurally sound, so the chocolate coating and paper would provide a lot of support.
Haven't been able to make it to the Medieval Xmas Market at Wittelsbacher Platz this year, the last time I went in 2019 I had the Glühwein "Hagen von Tronje" from the the same stall you had the Feuerzangenbowle. You definitely need to try one or two - you won't make it to #3... 🙄🙄
Same for us! We will try to go out this week to try it! 😎
Warm white wine?! Anyway, nice to see a part dutchie.
Hahaha it is a little strange 😅
You should check her channel out. She’s great!
☺️ Bedankt!
Just came back from Munich amazing trip but why did the Christmas markets closd so early like 21:30
My favorite was the small one in residents
I have no idea! It‘s kinda annoying tbh haha
You guys should one day try some Glögg. We here on the Danish borderlands enjoy it at our markets. The wine shacks also have a little glass of almonds and a little glass of raisins and you add a few of those to the hot Glögg. Traditionally the raisins and almonds are cooked with the Glögg and both are stored for a year to mature.
I have never heard of that, but I do love almonds and raisins! 🧐 We are already thinking about next year’s market videos, so we’ll have to try some markets near the border to try it!
Can any 1 help me?? Does these wonderful Christmas Markets end on Christmas Eve / Day OR go beyond?? ( I am confused ) So much yummy food. Excellent all around
The schedule is different for every market! In Bavaria, they generally end on Christmas eve around noon. it is best to check the websites for each market.
Great video !! Which shop is the white snowman mug from ? 😍
I think it is from one of the Glühwein stands in the centre of Marienplatz!
@@NearFromHome Yes! And they had a penguin one, too ☺️
linda👍👌🌼
:D
Of course the Lebkuchen hearts are only for decoration. No German would ever take a bite from it...
It wasn’t immediately obvious when we first moved here
Ist schon lustig, wie die "Urlauber" nich wissen, was der Gluehwein so kann...,lol
Was meinst du damit? Und wer sind die Urlauber? 😅
Thank you!
