Great video! Thx for the info and walk through. Where did you find that the stock air cleaner was considered a high flow filter that meet the requirements for a stage one tune? I put slip ones on my 2021 fat Bob but not sure if it should be tuned as stage one or just checked too see if it is still within the Harley air fuel parameters. Will this tuner tell you if the bike is still within the factory air fuel parameters? Thank you for your time!!
Yes it will it will tune the bike accordingly. I was informed by harley techs at harley. I now use a screaming eagle one myself, figured id upgrade once it was time to replace filter
I have using both of the different SE tuners since 2009 (non EPA compliant versions). The older versions required you to select the most appropriate tune for your Stage 1-4 configuration (tunes are very SE biased). At that stage you could ride the bike with the SE advised tune or select SMART tune to collect data to “optimize” the suggested tune for the bikes configuration. The Dynojet PV will automatically save the OEM tune before reflashing the ECM with the new tune. Have you found a way to use the SE tuner to resort to the OEM tune? I think the HD Digital Tech II computer can.
This is the older tuner as the new one is wireless and Bluetooth. Have you considered doing it with the new tuner again ? I did mine with the old one as well and I am unsure if it would give a different result. I was also told that the Fuel pack 4 that’s epa compliant is okay to use as well.
The software is compatible with both tuners. The good thing about screaming eagle is they supported and backed by Harley Davidson, so they get access rate from the gecko to the full ECU and features so you won’t really gain anything but the wireless Bluetooth capabilities of the new tuner which is kind of cool don’t get me wrong but will operate pretty much the same
Hey cool video, I have a street bob 2023 and I’d like to install Vance & Hines shorts. To keep the warranty I need to tune it with the screaming eagle tuner but the tune works? doesn’t matter are not screaming eagle exhaust? And 2 question if I install the V&H need tune it? Thank you
Yes, you’ll need a tune for the Vance and Hines. And yes, the screaming eagle tune will work with them. The tuner is just going to make sure that your bike isn’t running to lean with the new pipes.
@@ghostlyrich thank you for your fast response, some bikers told me that it’s not necessary the tune. Because the street bob comes with the stage 1 from stock
Question I was able to get the application on my laptop (which doesn’t have internet for some reason) through a USB. Will the program work alone without internet connection?
I am just today having my stage 1 kit ordered & installed by my local HD dealer. I am having them install the Screamin' Eagle High Flow Air Intake with the Cobra Neighbor Hater exhaust onto my 2019 Harley-Davidson Sport Glide 2 in 1 exhaust headers. I don't have any idea on what or how they are going to set up the Pro Street Tuner? Would you suggest that I go ahead and buy the extra Tuner cable and whatever else I need to recheck it after riding it for awhile? Or should I take it back to the HD dealer to do all of this? Your thoughts please? And anyone else reading this please let me know your thoughts?
If you're out of warranty you could always have the bike dyno tuned, but for a hand held tunner the screaming eagle one is great! I believe the new one is bluetooth so shouldnt need the cable
I have a 2021 FXLRS SE stage 3 122 CC kit installed with Bassani Ripper exhaust. A year ago when I got it installed at the HD dealer they tuned it afterwards with my SE tuner. (I don’t know how extensively) I downloaded the software on my computer and just saw there were updates for new calibrations for my bike and many others including 22 models. I have a few questions and was wondering if you could help. 1. Should I do this myself or talk to dealer beforehand to see if I’ll make things worse ? 2. Do I select 114 to stage 3 or 122 stage 3? 3. I’ve also seen videos of throttle response adjustment where the change to 1 to 1 ratio to make the pulls better. Would u recommend that before the tune or after ? 4. Can you save the specific tune on a thumb drive ? Doc Harley at HD dealership has a video on it I think
1. If you feel confident do it yourself especially if the dealer is going to charge you, 2. If your factory engine was 114 and your going to stage 3 i would 100% choose that 3. I would do the tune first and do your mapping like i show By driving around then i would switch to 1 to 1 and remap to make sure the bike is still operating in safe parameters, 4. It saves files on the computer so 100% should be able to back up on thumb drive
hey Brotha. I am actually doing the exact same thing with the same bike and same exhaust which I already bought. One question, I thought that the pro street tuner only works for slip on exhausts and screaming eagle upgrades.... I didnt think it could properly tune a bike with aftermarket headers. Any info helps thanks
When you’re riding it around it’s going to track your fuel map and make sure your bike is not going to lean out so it’s basically still going to do a good job and be custom to the bike. In the end it also keeps your Harley warranty intact
Dimb question....but since it says you can record and upload data as many times as you want, does it build off the most recent recorded and flashed data or always from scratch 🤔. Sorry if my question is confusing
What it will do record and gather data information from the various sensors and adapt the tune as it gathers information from each ride you record its basically making sure you don’t go out side the parameters and run to rich or lean
Where did u get ur tuner and cable? I am reading that there should be a specific one for 2022 fat bob. Do u have website or link that u could share? Have u had n e issue so far with ur setup?
😂😅, if you want the lowest performance do what he did. If you want far superior performance go with powervision, target tune, tts master tune or thundermax. Do some research on your own. No offense to the video, it waswell made just wrong choice in tuners for sure.
This was done to preserve warranty through the dealer, later on once i am out of warranty it will be custom tuned on a dyno, just depends on what your goals are.
@@ghostlyrich I get it, not knocking your video it was a good tutorial. The dealerships are not honest with customers about this system, and most people don't know and just believe the hype. Keep up he good content. 👍
@@ihatesjws669it’s not a wrong choice in tuner. You can upgrade your air cleaner and full exhaust without voiding your warranty using screaming eagle tuning. Any other tuner immediately voids your warranty.

In short the software and gains side should not change at all just the wireless capabilities of being able to change tune on the fly

For sure being shorter and a unretricted pipe with zero baffeling

You need it so it can check for updates and other things. I would run a reallllyyy long data cable to your laptop or but a after market wifi dongle
