This light is by far the best Pool Light currently available in our industry and we here at ePoolSupply agree. This install video will not work for the 12v pool lights as there is a different process that must be followed for the purpose of installation. Thanks for showing the install process. I'll stick with the lower cost classic Amerlite for most flexibility using "standards based" Edison bulbs with a multitude of LED and budgetary options. Replacing the Intellibrite "bulb" involves a potentially expensive PCB assembly swap out.
    I'm sure there is a ton of justifications to use Intellibrite. To each their own.

    thanks for posting this, I am about to do the exact same thing with my pool and spa and it is empty now having cracks repaired. question. I have the exact same junction box close to my panel. right now to turn lights on and off we use the actual breaker switch. if I wanted to install a light switch for the pool lights could I simply replace that junction box with an outdoor light switch?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  3 года назад

      Hi there, you would want to add a light switch not replace. Better yet, add an IntelliBrite controller. Hope this helps!

    What type of string do you use to connect with the light wire? Thanks

      Thank you for the comment! Most pool guys will use something called fish tape to run the lines.

    Do you not seal the PVC pipe inside the light Nitch with some type of caulk sealant?
    Reason I ask is...what if the pvc pipe for the electrical wire is not connected correctly and leaks somewhere....
    Also, how does the light connect to the intelliconnect unit, does it have a wifi module on the light to sync, because I noticed the cable does not have any remote wires, only a simple 3 wire cord? I wonder if you can use other lights with that system?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  3 года назад

      Hello, There is no reason to seal off the light. However, if you do have a leaking conduit, then yea caulk it up or use a wedge in there. As for the intelliconnect, it gets wired up to the relay built into the box. A series of on/off sequences change the color. If you are looking for a stand-alone light switch that is Wifi, Pentair just released a new switch that we will have a video on shortly. Hope this helps!

    in some videos they Epoxy A and B does your install require to do the same? and on LED lights did
    you not need a LED control box?

    • @ePoolSupply

      Hi there, you do not need to epoxy your pool lights on a concrete swimming pool. We did not use The Intellibrite controller on this one. But keep a lookout for a future video on how to install those. Hope this helps!

    I was told it's code in Florida to use Putty on both ends. I was hoping to replace my bad 5g that had water intrusion without emptying my pool but if it has putty I have to cut it out. Doubt I can do that with water in the pool. Thanks

    Can 3-4 lights be looped fixture to fixture and terminated onto 1 JB?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 года назад

      Hi there, you just have to wire them hot together. But keep in mind total amp / v for your gfi. Usually we recommend 3 lights max per 15 amp gfi. Lots of variables. Hope this helps!

    You don’t have to add the sealant into conduit before you install the light fixture ?

    Thanks for showing this. I have a situation with a fifty-year-old light that I replace with intellibrite. I took pictures the install and the old housing. The the light is so old it didn't come with a phillips-head screw it came with a premade eighth of an inch boat with a hex head nut on it in order to unscrew it from the wall. I have the intellibrite light up against the wall but I cannot mount it and or secure to the wall because of the different housing in different situation. With a clamp-on screw that holds the gasket on to the light I cannot install complete the installation could someone please assist me with this and if you need pictures I told you I took pictures of the light thank you

      To be honest it sounds like the housing is either not compatible with that particular light or it may be so outdated that it would need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

      Nope. I choose to leave a little water in the line when I'm pulling lights. Serves as a thin lubricant.

    Hi there, i had my pool guy replace my old light which is a pentair SAM light hallogen color light with a pentair intellibrite 12 volt. The intellibrite is not flush to the plaster on top , it is not fitting all the way in like the old one .He tells me the lights are different but he also replace the spa light and it fits correct . my understanding is that both lights are compatible with that niche. The pool i had it built in 2016 so i know it has original lights and niche . i believe he is doing something wrong. Can he hit the light lghtly with rubber hammer to push top. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

    • @ePoolSupply

      They have since redesigned their pool lights to help diminish the issues they have been having. We would suggest looking into the Pentair Architectural series pool lights.

      Hey Josh. Department stores sell electrical lube in the electrical section. They take some compressed air and shoot it down the line. That usually helps. I know some techs use Dawn dish soap as well, we haven’t so we cannot attest to if that actually works or not. Hope this helps!

      Hey Patty,
      It all depends on what light you're using. Because of the variety and for safety, we suggest having a pool professional take a look to determine what bulb or light would work best for your individual needs. Hope this helps!

    No ground bonding wire inside the niche? Potting compound?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 года назад

      The bonding wire is normally on the outside of the niche if it is metal. As far as the potting compound goes it is only used if the water level is below the j box or there is some type of underground leak. Hope this answers your questions.

    • @robertshields6214
      @robertshields6214 2 года назад

      In Florida, I was told putting compound must be used on both ends according to code. The company that sold me the replacement 5g said I must cut out the putting before pulling the wire through. Anyone know if what I was told is wrong? I'm hoping to do this without draining my Pool. Thanks
