you said the longer the blade the better for cutting hair... sorry my dear -but precision hair scissors that cost between 30 and $150 - and very short blades- about 2" long or abit less.... just sayin'

There's always swap meet that sells them for cheap too that I've always gotten mine at. No need for super sharp fancy one people use for real hair for cutting doll fur wig, There's always the thread cutting one that's about 3 inch you can get at Joann's fabric with coupons for cheap. Or they always have sales for 40% off on them. Or maybe i've just been lucky i guess.
22.00 for 2 sounds pretty good. In case you were not aware.. never ever use them on paper. And if you catch someone else using them on paper.. it's "off with their head" !
+nancy chodara Ok, somewhat new to the bjd scene & pretty ignorant of wig maintenance & styling. I'm an older guy whose been balding for the last 20 years, so not much experience in the real world with hair. That's what barbers are for. So..what is the deal with specific scissors for specific materials? I know from my wife's quilting that her fabric scissors are not to be touched. As a tool wielder, I can respect that. But is there something in the design that is common for specific materials?
+dphendri1 okay, I know it's been quite a few months since you asked, but like the hair cutting scissors tend to be super sharp, and sometimes has serrated edges. fabrics scissors are pretty much just sharp, but paper and such fill them terribly.
thank you. you can use the thinning shear. but because the the thinning shear gives more of a precise like of cut. you'll get better control with the the smaller scissors cutting with scissor point pointing in. It's a personal preference though. Everyone is different. So just use whatever is easier of course. ^^

+PoisonLady having a roll of tape handy helps. or you can hnd wet the fur a bit to help prevent them from flying all over
