I wish I wasn't watching this at 1am!! Now I am all pumped about making a doll wig when I should be going to bed, haha. Beautiful and thorough tutorial! ♡
This tutorial is the last puzzle piece I needed to know on how to make a wig that I am making for someone, thank you for making this; I'm going to make a dream a reality!
Petra, I know this is months late, lol, but I'm in the same boat! I don't want to mess up a doll, though, so I just ordered 10 ping pong balls for $1 on ebay ^_^ I guess I'll put them on clothespin bodies, as I just want practice drawing/painting/sealing on curved surfaces and wigging, ha!
i went to thrift shops and found a bag of 2-3 dolls for less than the price of one. then i got really lucky and picked up another 20 for £7 if you want dolls to reroot/ wig they can be scrappy/ matted as you can fix them and you wont have lost too much if it doesnt work
this is such a thorough tutorial! only in the future, especially if you brush your doll's hair frequently, start at the bottom and work out knots from the bottom up. this prevents unnecessary tugging and reduces wear on the wig.
I have viewed many other wig tutorials but you are - by far -the best. I love that you make the parts first and clip them down while you work on the main body of the hair wefts. Each piece you glue on is neat & precise, unlike most of the other tutorials I've seen where so much glue is splashed on and wefts placed messily. Thank you so much x
These are oddly therapeutic. I must have watched your wig videos a dozen times now. I don't know if it's the music or the work itself, but it's so relaxing and satisfying to watch. (Also, love the colors you used here. Very inspired for a doll I would like to make in the future.)
she's so pretty........i'll try your technique because it looks easy and the tools and materials are not expensive too... thank you for sharing your knowledge
Thank you so much for these wonderful tips 😊 I think this is the best tutorial on doll wigs I've ever seen. Besides, it's very hard to find doll hair in my country. So, your video is just what I needed! 🤗
Thank you so much for the video it was very helpful! I've been struggling with finding the materials for doll hair and never thought of yarn it's such a great idea!
that wig, so pretty... I love it. And you're so very well practiced at making these. Maybe one day when I actually start to repaint dolls I'll look up your video again and put it into play :)
Feonalilly Dollightful has made a video about that, and I think she explained it very well c: it's fairly recently, you don't have to scroll too much on her channel.
I just can't get over it how talented you are! Your videos are lovely, I watch them really often :D And the ideas, SO easy and cheap! You're one of my favourite youtubers, you deserve to get lots of subscribers ;))
is there a way to make the fringe a little thinner? the wig is amazing, but I think (for me personally) the fringe is really thick >_< is there a way to change that of I were to make one?
When doing each layer, do them further apart from each other where the bangs lie, should come out thinner when cut? I dunno, I'm gonna be giving it a try sometime. :)
Your doll wefts are so perfect. I'm just starting out making doll wigs using this method. My wefts look too thin, or not so straight. I used your weft video as a reference. It helped me so much! Thank you for that. I guess practice makes perfect. I'm improving each time I make them.
I just found your channel and subbed! Thank you so much for this and the How-To-Make-Yarn-Wefts - video tutorials. Very well filmed and explained. I have been interested in making my own doll wigs but have hesistated due to expensive materials (alpaca etc.) but after watching these videos of yours my fears have been set aside. It's amazing how pretty wig can be made from such a inexpensive material - and oh my for all the colours that are available out there to explore! Can't wait to start! ^_^
Exactly! The best part I love about yarn is how cheap and easily available it is! Don't be scared! Go crazy with yarn! I assure you the results are very satisfying :)) Goodluck!!
This was awesome! I've been trying to find a subtle way to gradient / layer 2 different weft colors for one of my cosplay wigs, and watching you do this really helped me understand how to do it without it looking choppy and separated!! Thank you so much!!
It's beautiful. Thank you for doing this tutorial. Btw, can you please tell where can I buy the strong glue you used to attach the wefts and which brand works the best?
This was a great tutorial, thank you! I've been trying to think of alternatives for fur for a long time, and yarn seems like something fairly inexpensive to learn with. And the results look great, too!
Make more videos!!! I loved making hair out of ribbons and would brush them out because they are feathery and magical. I never had a doll to make a wig on so I'm living vicariously through you!
Mozekyto - I know this is an older video, but you are still the guru of yarn wigs! I did have a question about the wig cap though - where did you get those nice perfectly sized black rubber bands? I like how tight you are able to pull the fabric with one of those on. Many thanks, and hope all is well! :)
I wonder if using this method and sewing the wefts to a base fabric would be a feasible way of making faux fur?.... You're bringing my creative juices to a simmer!
what sort of cloth would you suggest using? You always mention 'cloth', but a type would be nice ^^ (I doubt common dishclothes would be a good idea, lol)
I was just wondering if you could make the wig cap with darker material/fabric if you're making a darker wig? I know it has to be stretchie, but dose it have to be white or cream like I see everyone using, or can it match the wig its self more closely? I'm planning on the wig I'm asking about being a permanent wig BTW, just in case that makes a difference.
You absolutely can use a wig cap that matches the hair colour, but keep in mind dark fabrics can stain certain kinds of resin and plastics. For this reason, it's recommended to use a headcap to protect it!
Thanks. I kinda figured the lighter hair thing, I'm just planning on using this technique for a few dolls with black hair. I was also asking for just whenever I make a wig cap for dolls I'm planning on having darker hair, like black, brown, burgundy, purple, ect.
It's fascinating to watch your videos, you're brilliant at what you do. I had no clue that yarn could be straight and silky. But I keep wondering why dolls? What do you do with them after making the hair? Are you also a hairdresser?
Can you tell me more about the glue you use to attach the wefts? The name, the type and something else? is really difficult to find a glue like this, so sticky
I just started doll customization myself and I love your wig tutorials. Would it also be possible to share a tutorial on how to make a wig with bangs that has two colours? With the two colours parted in the middle like Melanie Martinez' hair. I would have no idea how to part the middle section like you do with a different colour on each side. Looking forward to a tutorial about this. Thanks in advance!
What I wanna know is what exactly did you do with the little piece you glued at the front of the parting line when you started??? I can't really pick it up from the video.
This is probably a silly question to ask but I will ask it anyway... Is there any consequence for not using stretchy cloth? Or does it absolutely have to be stretchy cloth?
Omg thank you , I don’t have the money to buy synthetic hair but god I have so much yarn from my mums business. I’ve been wanting to make custom dolls for a couple of years and just never got around to it
can you make a yarn doll with high pigtails and bangs? I wanted to make one but is afraid it will might look weird if her hair is going to be pulled up so I want to know if there is a right way
BigBoomer101 I remember somebody asking about high pigtails on a wig, and they had the idea to make the wig separately and then attach pigtails. It might have been dollightful?
Aight, how do you get your yarn to look so shiny? I've used the petbrush method for fur before, and it had a bit of a sheen, but not nearly as much as your wigs seem to have. I assume its the yarn you use? Or is it the 'tightly press and slowly pull' shown in your tutorial; I always do it quickly for fear of setting things on fire despite using a low heat setting lmao anyway, you're amazing, srsly i love your skill. I LOVE this tutorial. I think I'm gonna try to make Dollightfuls and your tutorial in one and see how the doll wig turns out. I'll use the yarn as the hair and go with a little bit of each tutorial. Love it so much!
PrincessPikaPi They used a stretchy fabric so you would need a more elastic fabric, regular fabric wont pull tight over the dolls head causing the folds your having trouble with. Next time your at the fabric store you could bring your dolls head or even just a ball to test the fabric and make sure you can pull it flat, I personally like using cotton/elastic material.
What type of fabric is that? I’ve tried to use old shirts and it never comes out as flat as your wig caps...how do you get there to be no bumps?! At the back of the wig
I wish I wasn't watching this at 1am!! Now I am all pumped about making a doll wig when I should be going to bed, haha. Beautiful and thorough tutorial! ♡
Haha I'm sorry! Well I'm sure you'll do well, goodluck! 😊😊😊
Omg hi dollightful!
Oh hi Dollightful! you should use this technique for a video?
You should do a repaint and make a yarn wig dollightful :D
+lpspurplerainbow kittys right??
I didn't know yarn wefts could look so pretty!!! Thank you for the tutorial!
This tutorial is the last puzzle piece I needed to know on how to make a wig that I am making for someone, thank you for making this; I'm going to make a dream a reality!
Okay, I got this, I'm so ready!
First, I need a doll.
DAMMIT! XD

It’s not possible.

Have you gone to sleep yet?
she's so pretty........i'll try your technique because it looks easy and the tools and materials are not expensive too... thank you for sharing your knowledge
Holy crap it looks like real hair... HOLY CRAP IT LOOKS LIKE REAL HAIR!!
Its yarn
+Lacey McKenna I know I'm just saying the final product looks like real hair
Ooohhh okay
It does look like hair! 😁👌
Lol
Not a big fan of how thick the bangs look, but you do a great job!
You can probably set the start of the bangs further down on the face
I'll make sure to use the technique in the future if I can start to customize dolls :)
Yarn is such an awesome material I'm sure you'll have fun playing and experimenting with! Goodluck on your wig projects! :D
that wig, so pretty... I love it.
And you're so very well practiced at making these. Maybe one day when I actually start to repaint dolls I'll look up your video again and put it into play
:)
can you make a video of wigging a doll with ears? clawdeen is my favourite but I don't know how to work around those ears
Feonalilly Dollightful has made a video about that, and I think she explained it very well c: it's fairly recently, you don't have to scroll too much on her channel.
FireStar Power . the other
I just made a doll wig for my doll that had cat ears. I had to cut holes in the wig cap for her ears. Then I just worked around them with the wefts.
I chopped her ears off :")
ViolentJay100 that’s what I did with my mousadies king doll
I love these videos!! I would love to see how you make those BEAUTIFUL face ups!!! The hair tutorials are perfection!!!
omg I'm shocked that you can make such a beautiful wig out of YARN! wow well done
This is so helpful and beautiful. Tomorrow I'm getting the supplies to be able to make my very first doll wig, and I hope mine turns out good :)
This video is soo satisfying to watch. You have a lot of talent and patience.
I just can't get over it how talented you are! Your videos are lovely, I watch them really often :D And the ideas, SO easy and cheap! You're one of my favourite youtubers, you deserve to get lots of subscribers ;))
I mean I watch them repeatly XD
Wow who would have know that these youtubers could make such beautiful art!? I am literally fangirling!!! 🤩🤩🤩
is there a way to make the fringe a little thinner? the wig is amazing, but I think (for me personally) the fringe is really thick >_< is there a way to change that of I were to make one?
Make the part closer to the front!
Maybe use some thinning shears? I imagine that might help!
When doing each layer, do them further apart from each other where the bangs lie, should come out thinner when cut? I dunno, I'm gonna be giving it a try sometime. :)
Panicking Potato Skip rows when you are glueing the wefts :)
Your doll wefts are so perfect. I'm just starting out making doll wigs using this method. My wefts look too thin, or not so straight. I used your weft video as a reference. It helped me so much! Thank you for that. I guess practice makes perfect. I'm improving each time I make them.
Ah, amazing! Making these wigs look a lot better than rerooting the whole head. Awesome job
I just found your channel and subbed! Thank you so much for this and the How-To-Make-Yarn-Wefts - video tutorials. Very well filmed and explained. the music in this video was so soothing and calming.
I love to watch your videos after a hard day. They are very relaxing.
Btw, can you please tell where can I buy the strong glue you used to attach the wefts and which brand works the best?
elmers glue all or tacky glue work p well
Elmers Glue All is really good.
This was a great tutorial, thank you! I've been trying to think of alternatives for fur for a long time, and yarn seems like something fairly inexpensive to learn with. And the results look great, too!
You're welcome and goodluck on your wig projects! :D
One of the best explained ones
you are amazing! (i wish i had as much skills as half of yours)
forgive my grammar
Aww no worries! And thank you so much! Practice always make one better! You can do it! ;)
Gayet güzel yazıyosunn :D
Mozekyto can we remove wig
Make more videos!!! I loved making hair out of ribbons and would brush them out because they are feathery and magical. I never had a doll to make a wig on so I'm living vicariously through you!
This is so satisfying to watch and also very cute :)
Omg ur amazing I'm halfway through making one of these and it takes a while but it is so much fun can't wait for the end result😄😄😄😍
Yaaay! It is a bit labor intensive but its going to be worth it! :D And thank you! :)
+Mozekyto I finished it, it looks so pretty I did hip length pink hair ahhhh it worked perfectly
I am so super inspired to give this a try after watching your videos!
Mozekyto - I know this is an older video, but you are still the guru of yarn wigs! I did have a question about the wig cap though - where did you get those nice perfectly sized black rubber bands? I like how tight you are able to pull the fabric with one of those on. Many thanks, and hope all is well! :)
This is one that always defeats me..I am saving your tutorials from now on Lol! Beautiful colour mix as well as an amazing wig!
did I get this right - her hair is simple yarn combed out?? how amazing is that? she looks wonderful, great job :)
You have to straighten it with a flat iron, but yeah
Gorgeous! Can't wait to try it!
Have fun and goodluck! :D
So amazing!! A no sew method!! Thanks!
Fabulous!!! Wonderful tutorial!!! Beautiful outcome!!! Amazing skill!!!
My goodness you are talented!! Pls don't stop making videos!❤️💜💙
Love it!! I can't wait to see more from you!!

This is so fun to watch! Thank you for sharing
The music is so calming!
Wonderful job can't wait to see more.
Thanks! Yup more soon :)
subscribed like how did i not find this channel any sooner?!?!?
Brilliant. Thank you.
Easy to follow instructions and a perfect end result.
That's incredibly clever! Nice colour choices too! :)
Haha thank you! :)
Thank you so much! I really love your wig tutorials!
You're welcome and I'm glad you liked them! :D
I was just wondering if you could make the wig cap with darker material/fabric if you're making a darker wig? You absolutely can use a wig cap that matches the hair colour, but keep in mind dark fabrics can stain certain kinds of resin and plastics. For this reason, it's recommended to use a headcap to protect it!
Ok, thanks for the info.
Yeah I use sock fabric for wig caps and only have gray and black socks lol. It works fine, just probably not great for light hair.
Thanks. I kinda figured the lighter hair thing, I'm just planning on using this technique for a few dolls with black hair. I was also asking for just whenever I make a wig cap for dolls I'm planning on having darker hair, like black, brown, burgundy, purple, ect.
You are so amazing! Whenever I attempt a project like this it never turns out good DX
then keep trying and im sure it will be great!! follow your heart and you'll do it like a pro!!
It's fascinating to watch your videos, you're brilliant at what you do. I had no clue that yarn could be straight and silky. But I keep wondering why dolls? What do you do with them after making the hair? Are you also a hairdresser?
Wow looks awesome great job 👍
Someday when this channel will have over a million subs, I will be very proud of the fact that I was one of the 400 subs
Can you tell me more about the glue you use to attach the wefts? The name, the type and something else? is really difficult to find a glue like this, so sticky
Look 30 seconds into the video. I believe it is just ordinary school glue
PabloconPvlog I use just regular school glue to make the wefts and de pva glue to glue the wefts on the cap. it stays really nice in place ;)
carootje2808 could you use just Elmer’s glue?
its so pretty!!! i love the hair soo much and i love the repaint on frankie's hair I've been trying to make it myself not going so good hahaha
Stunning! Beautiful job - thanks so much for sharing 🙂🙂🙂
Beautiful tutorial. I think I will try this for the anime doll I'm trying to make.
So easy to make and it looks amazing! I am a bit scared about cutting the hair though. I'm scared I'll mess it up.
beautiful how the wig came out
I adore this this is amazing you're talented af
I'm assuming the first part line wefts are allowed to dry before bending over? great video, I have made the wig cap so far.
So very perfectly beautiful. Thank you so much x
This channel inspired me and I’m going to start making doll wigs to sell on Etsy.
So satisfying to watch
This is the easiest way to make a wig 😍 thank you so much for this channel 💜💜
great tutorial! and very beautiful works!
so pretty! shes stunning!!!!!
Could you make a video on how to make Rem's hairstyle from Re Zero?
What a beautiful wig! 💙 Thank you for this helpful tutorial 😄
Well made tutorial :) Is it possible to do directly on the dolls head instead of making the wig?
Is it essential to use a stronger glue to put the wefts on?? or can I use Elmer’s glue all?
Are the wigs easy to swap out when you want to change them if you only have one doll? I'd love to make one!
would this work if you wanted to glue it directly onto the dolls head? Or do you *have* to make a wig cap?
I love the face-up so much~ 😍
Could you please do a video how to paint it? 😍😍🙏🙏
Do you ombre the yarn wefts at all? With dye or anything, if not, that would be an awesome video!
What I wanna know is what exactly did you do with the little piece you glued at the front of the parting line when you started??? I can't really pick it up from the video.
This is probably a silly question to ask but I will ask it anyway... Is there any consequence for not using stretchy cloth? Or does it absolutely have to be stretchy cloth?
is there a way to make the bangs not so thick? like maybe only two layers? or won't it look as good?
If you dont want the bands really think and layered, would skipping rows work?
Omg thank you , I don’t have the money to buy synthetic hair but god I have so much yarn from my mums business. I’ve been wanting to make custom dolls for a couple of years and just never got around to it
can you make a yarn doll with high pigtails and bangs? I wanted to make one but is afraid it will might look weird if her hair is going to be pulled up so I want to know if there is a right way
BigBoomer101 I remember somebody asking about high pigtails on a wig, and they had the idea to make the wig separately and then attach pigtails. It might have been dollightful?
Yes there was a comment about that.
Aight, how do you get your yarn to look so shiny? I've used the petbrush method for fur before, and it had a bit of a sheen, but not nearly as much as your wigs seem to have. I assume its the yarn you use? Or is it the 'tightly press and slowly pull' shown in your tutorial; I always do it quickly for fear of setting things on fire despite using a low heat setting lmao
anyway, you're amazing, srsly i love your skill. Thank you for sharing your ways!
I LOVE this tutorial. I think I'm gonna try to make Dollightfuls and your tutorial in one and see how the doll wig turns out. I'll use the yarn as the hair and go with a little bit of each tutorial. Love it so much!
when putting the cloth on how do you prevent any kind of folds?
PrincessPikaPi They used a stretchy fabric so you would need a more elastic fabric, regular fabric wont pull tight over the dolls head causing the folds your having trouble with. Next time your at the fabric store you could bring your dolls head or even just a ball to test the fabric and make sure you can pull it flat, I personally like using cotton/elastic material.
Does the hold and twist method for "boat bangs" work on doll hair? I know you didnt do it, i was just wondering?
this s neat! I have plan of customizing dolls and I don't think I can do a lot of rerooting this should do the trick! 😊👍
Such a great tut 👍 i was wondering; how lond does it take before ur glue is dry? Mine took 3 hours 😱😢
this is a little silly of a comment, but how do the wigs stay on? they seem like they would slip off. is there some fastening method you use?
Wow great tutorial the hair look real nice job I am going to use this
What type of fabric is that? I’ve tried to use old shirts and it never comes out as flat as your wig caps...how do you get there to be no bumps?! At the back of the wig
