I don't put butter on most things but when I do use it for baking or toasted sandwiches I love vegan Becel (in Canada) and Earth Balance. I recently got the Miyoko's butter block so I can't wait to try it out 😊
In the UK we have Flora, Pure, Vitalite and Suma (I found the Suma brand is a health food store only brand)brands for vegan butter and some of the retailers have their own versions of vegan butter. I am presently using Tesco Olive oil spread which is a vegan butter made for the store and they also have a sunflower oil version of vegan butter.
Thanks for putting this video together! I've been wanting to try vegan butter, but I wanted to check out some reviews first, I'm glad I found your video! :)
Hi there! I just recently discovered your channel and blog and wanted to let you know how inspired I am by you. You have an incredible story and I strongly admire you! Your effort and dedication does not go unnoticed!
There are a ton of vegan butters in France, even though most ppl don't like them. And most people refer to them as "not really butters" which is annoying, but I find them pretty good
Honestly my in-laws had Miyoko's butter in their fridge that was 1.5 years expired (and had been open for a full year). They let me take it and I've had no issues eating it. Unless it's clear that it's gone off, Miyoko's is too good to throw out!
I totally agree! I mean, it's a pretty stable ingredient IMO, one of those things where you can (maybe) take the expiration date as a suggestion...? ☺️ To a reasonable extent anyway hehe
I have the Pure Blends one currently and love it! I inly got it a few months ago I think so they might still be available. I also think I bought it because it was cheaper than other options so that might be good to know!
Been vegan for a couple of years now. I’ve tried miyoko, earth balance, smart balance, and the I cannot believe it’s not butter brands and I like the vegan smart balance one and miyoko’s the best! The smart balance one has a lot of flavor and is cheaper than miyoko’s, but I think miyoko’s has “cleaner” ingredients. Earth balance and I cannot believe is not butter are decent alternatives too :)
I'll always appreciate earth balance, the OG!!! I totally agree with you though! Some of the "newer" brands are more ingredient focused but earth balance tastes great.
i probably sound like such a stalker, but i think i remember you using the faba butter for tj's cauliflower gnocchi, when you ate only white foods for a day lol. also happy 4th of july everyone!
I eat expired food all the time, no worry! As long as it didn’t smell strange or is moldy everything should be fine 🤷🏻♀️ i want your recipe for that gf sourdough sooo bad 😍
Yeah I feel like certain foods with a high fat content last well past the expiration. As long as it isn't moldy or rancid (which it won't be if you refrigerated it and kept it covered with a lid).
I love trying new product but finding out that taste awful make my heart break💔 Thank you for helpful video💓 Hope you don't get sick from all the expired butter😂
I believe some do and some don't, I didn't read through the full list of ingredients for all of them but there are palm oil free options if you're avoiding :)
That last one I get all the time! I'm in California. It's a grocery store brand called Kroger! How funny. Thanks for the great content! I'm going to try that Oat Milk one!
I know you say you are eating gluten free breAd, does that mean you are coeliac? Are the butter gluten free and celiac friendly? Hoping for an answer from a coeliac Dutchie
I do have celiac's disease and none of the butters contain wheat. In general I haven't seen a butter containing gluten on the market here in the US! Hope that helps
Also girl I loveeeee your hair ! 🤩🥰 how is it cut? Like what style? 😊 i got long hair too and am in need of a hair cut but unsure what to get, your hair looks amazing so that is why I am curious 😁 also how do you style it?
It's just trimmed when I get a cut but I haven't cut it for over 6 months haha, sorry! I don't style it, I just let it air dry (and I never use heat so no blowdrying, curling etc.) I think that helps my hair stay healthy.
Says it contains No Nuts. First ingredient: coconuts. Lol. I know someone allergic to tree nuts and can't eat coconut so it seems wrong to label it as nut free Edit: just checked, and I guess some people allergic to tree nuts can still eat coconut
The Miyoko’s block “butter” tastes NOTHING like butter due to the 1st ingredient of coconut oil. It has the consistency of butter but not the taste. Tastes sweet, like coconut, but not butter. Wanted it to flavor popcorn or pasta. But for me, coconut-flavored popcorn or pasta…🤮. I like the taste of butter on popcorn and in pasta. This is a dealbreaker for me.
your intro made it sound as if you had plannend this video beforehand whilst that didn't seem to be the case in your previous video (this is meant to sound jokingly, no hate intended!!) i loved watching this video. have a lovely day
Not sure what you mean by that? 🤔 I paused my other video to film this one, but that doesn't mean I couldn't come up with a plan once I decided to film it haha.
Saaaame but I don’t mind it 😂 I’ve had a hard time finding a vegan milk substitute that I actually like as a milk substitute and has the same attributes as milk, and recently tried oat milk - I actually think it is better than milk in almost everything. Best iced chai latte ever.
@@JacquelineUnderwood My favorite is cashew milk since to me it tastes the most neutral and plays well with most things but I know a lot of people who don't like it lol.
Its so awesome that we have so many vegan foods like these now 😁🌱
Absolutely!!! So so cool
What's YOUR favourite storebought vegan butter? P.S. I threw out the expired butters after, don't try that at home lol.
Veggiekins the melt one is amazing, really good, and the becels that I’ve tried are good too!
Veggiekins haven’t tried the Miyokos but it looks amazing😍
Ohh! I think I've seen that on Instagram before!!

Ty Libby! Happy weeekend
Yes welcome to the vegan RUclips community 🤗
I love the Miyokos oat butters !! So good!
Thanks for putting this video together! I've been wanting to try vegan butter, but I wanted to check out some reviews first, I'm glad I found your video! :)
So glad it was helpful! I know there are a few other videos like this on RUclips with more brands, so may want to check out those too !
Veggiekins thanks!
I'm guessing most of these that use coconut oil are using refined coconut oil which has no coconut flavor, but still gets the texture across :)
Your videos are so cool! Love you x
Hi there! I just recently discovered your channel and blog and wanted to let you know how inspired I am by you. You have an incredible story and I strongly admire you! Your effort and dedication does not go unnoticed!
ps: the egg I have in my mouth in my profile pic is a gummy/candy egg, not a real one 🤣
You're so sweet :') Ah this totally made my day!! Also the egg candy note made me LOL ☺️

you know what i mean garbanzo bean!!! so cute!!!!!
Oh my gosh, I neeeed to try that garlic parm butter!! They should totally rename is garlic knots butter, hehe :)
I really like Naturli butter (made in Denmark). I think it has the texture and taste of Lurpark!
Oohh!! Maybe I can find some when I next visit my boyfriend in Amsterdam.
I’m happy you mentioned the one that doesn’t have palm oil because most of them do. And it’s not healthy. Thanks

@Veggiekins
recipe for the bread? Looking for a good gf bread recipe.

Oooh that is awesome to know!! Glad it's still around haha 😊
Love you, you inspired me to become vegan!

Hahaha all goood!! ☺️
i probably sound like such a stalker, but i think i remember you using the faba butter for tj's cauliflower gnocchi, when you ate only white foods for a day lol. also happy 4th of july everyone!
Hahaha omg not at all!!! That's exactly what I thought of as I was talking about cooking with it LOL. Happy weekend Lea!!!

The recipe for the bread is in my IG highlights (called sourdough) :)

Hope you don't get sick from all the expired butter😂
Hahahah I know exactly what you mean!! Sometimes you have risk it for the biscuit LOL but it always sucks when it sucks!!!
Veggiekins girl you should bake something real quick with the expired butter to take care of it hahah
Can you do a vegan cheese taste test? That’d be amazing!! 🤤
You should do a cream cheese one!! 🤤
Ooooo!! Will have to accumulate some ahahaha
Earth balance is my favorite :) if I ever see that miyoko's garlic parm, i am so trying it.
Yess definitely! it's so good omg
@@Veggiekins i had to edit my post to say earth balance is my fav. Idky my brain spaced and it put the wrong brand name lol. Mom brain over here.
Girl omg 2 years expired!?!?!?! Heck no 😭
HAHAH I KNOWWW :( I did it for the video...?? But threw it out after lol
Lol, I don't even eat things that are a couple of days expired! 🤣
Do the butters contain palm oil?

That's awesome!! Haven't tried it before :O

Wait, gluten free sourdough? Recipe??
Alsoooo I buy the avocado oil spread so it’s definitely not gone lol, we have it in HEB
Yessss! :-) Recipe is on my IG highlights, and that's so great to know!! IDK why the companie's IG disappeared lol, or changed handles maybe?
“You know what I mean, garbanzo bean!” just made my day 😅😂
Ps: Love your content
Hahahahahahah thank u!!! ♡

Edit: just checked, and I guess some people allergic to tree nuts can still eat coconut
MissAtomicBomb yes it seems it’s not really grouped as a “nut” all the time, kind of like chestnut (is that really even a nut? 😂)

Veggiekins yesss, that’s true!! I didn’t mean to doubt your plans!!
If you could just speak a little slower please.... Had to keep rewinding to catch everything you said, otherwise excellent reviews ....
if you ever make another video try earth balance!
I've tried it before :) OG vegan butter and basically only thing I could eat when I first went vegan
Any vegan butter or dairy sub made with anything oat always just tastes like oats to me lol. I swear by Miyoko's Cultured Butter.
Didn't get an oat flavour from the oat milk butters personally! Loved them
Saaaame but I don’t mind it 😂 I’ve had a hard time finding a vegan milk substitute that I actually like as a milk substitute and has the same attributes as milk, and recently tried oat milk - I actually think it is better than milk in almost everything. Best iced chai latte ever.
@@Veggiekins Maybe I'm just overly conscious of the oat flavor then lol.
@@JacquelineUnderwood My favorite is cashew milk since to me it tastes the most neutral and plays well with most things but I know a lot of people who don't like it lol.
I make Homemade vegan Butter
Awesome!
I rarely use vegan butter either 😂
Lmao yes!! It takes me foreeeever
It's yellow bc its expired, Lady! 😂 Kudos for still trying it out
moni S hahaha noo it was always yellow-er and also has some nooch in it 😂 but it’s also definitely expired LOL
All thoes oils are not healthy!
I never said it was 😂
