Hahahaha! As someone who has been learning by studying League of Legends splash art and concept arts myself over years I see what you mean! I think I have been noticing very similar poses in their splash arts but when you pulled up the pictures side by side it hit me. I think it's from Riot that I have been practicing the same "looking up at the subject" pose. But to be fair I don't just do that pose, I try to use all kinds of weird angles, but I like to play with weird angles in general as it gives more dimension to the art piece. And at the same time it makes the anatomy practice 10 times harder and challenging then to just draw from a basic angle. Fore-shortening of limbs with extreme angles is quite challenging and takes lots of practice, but I think it's fun! But drawing hands is always the bane of my existence. In some angles drawing a hand I nail it on the first try, but then in another angle the hand might look like sausage fingers and it takes so many retries before it starts to look like it's suppose to. (Even with a reference)🤣

Damn, you re speaking what im always thinking about drawing hands : ) I also think practicing poses in hardcore perspective and really weird angles is some of the best practice you can do when it comes to mastering anatomy and all that. Glad you enjoyed it.

i totally agree riot could be a bit more creative with splasharts! some of them look very similar or almost iconic to a certain champion cuz of the pose (nidalee) and riot having huge issues with same face syndrome (especially with female champions) doesn’t help the case at all

Yesss, you re so right. they really suffer from the same face syndrome, but i think that stems from the overall beauty standard that we have going. It just works out better for them if they hit the standard and dont deviate too much from that.

@@SekiBegins yes that is also true! and after all it is a video game so it doesnt matter that much but i feel like male champions have way more variety when it comes to facial and bodily features as well. i still love my league pretty girls tho don’t get me wrong lmao!
