I’ve been trying digital art for 3 years now, and even before then in 2019, I remember obsessively going through League of Legends splash art and admiring the different champions. Now, I’m studying their art and many other professionals to understand their process, composition, use of color, and storytelling. Your points in this video gave me an insight to better improve my art through grayscale and colors, interesting compositions, and my favorite part: storytelling. Thank you so much for this video! It gave me some insight and new knowledge I hope to use in the future for my art.

Interesting, I never noticed colour theory and composition ratios in drawings. Thanks for pointing it out. Will look for it now 😊

This is very useful! Well explained and summarized enough, even people without very high art skills should be able to apply these tips in their works (and so doing more interesting and striking illustrations)

Thank you for the video! For future videos I have a little bit of feedback: In the Introduction part of your video a lot of times you say things that don't match what we are shown on the screen. So for example in 0:38 you show the prices for the skins and have money rain but you don't actually say anything about how it gets them money. I know what point you were making, that they get a lot off of the splash arts, but it would make for much nicer viewing if you were actually showing something reflecting what you are saying.
Same with 1:09, where you show what values you are talking about, it's much easier for the viewer if you say out loud what you are showing us in text. Otherwise we have to try and read and listen at the same time which can feel disengaging.
But again, great video and this is obviously nothing essential, I just wanted to give feedback on that.

In the Composition part you're doing exactly that and I liked that a lot, it was really easy and nice to watch :)

Thank you very much for the feedback.. I appreciate it.
These things will help me make better videos and I will keep it in mind when I am making future videos.

Hello, I don’t know if yoy heard about Coloso Korea or Coloso global (the English version), is a place where Lead artist, art director, like the Lead artist of Naughty Dogs teach to draw etc, and from riot games, pixar, and really famous artists, the style you are talking in the video is called glazing, is a coloring technique and style. Erak Note which has a course too, talk and teach how to understand it. They are expensive courses, I shall warn, but they are the best. There’s a lot of artists there, and all of them famous and successful, and know how to draw and some of then did worked of the art pieces that you showed in your video. Now there’s a promotion that provides 4 classes for free, for 30 days long. Just to let people how the classes are.

It's funny you mentioned Coloso. I just got a packaged course with 3 artists and one of them is Erak Note. I'm still going through it and learning alot. I'm watching Gatans classes now on coloring and hopefully get to Erak in a month or so

@@Khaleddrawsthey are really amazing, do you know a community to talk about coloso courses or just be like class mates ? Do you have discord?

      They really are.
I don't know if a community that talk about Coloso courses. I do have discord. I have been thinking of starting my own discord channel. But not sure if I have enough traction to have a community yet. But if you like we can start with small group and grow slowly

I've played a few MOBA games. So far, no splash arts and character designs beat LoL, when you have to compare it to the likes of HoK or AoV, or even MLBB. LoL's splash art looks more alive and gives the idea of the personality each champion has. Very good expression. Other games, even though they're amazing, looks puppetry and expressionless, not to mention bland and not much flow in em. Still amazing though, but LoL's just top-tier.

I agree for sure. Lol has realized how important splash art is in selling their game and skins. I think that is why they really try to get amazing artists and spend money on the splash art.

I've watched a few videos that breakdown league art but nothing really stuck until this video! The way you've explained composition with each art piece just helped me literally *see* how to use composition effectively and where to start learning to improve my own art, I've been over complicating my art process for a few years, so I'm happy I found this video, you've inspired me! 🩵

I am very happy that you found this video helpful. Sometimes keeping things simple is the best approach to making better composition and painting. I am ofcourse still learning and improving
