I've been watching Andrew for a few years now, and you have to admire the kid's resourcefulness and work ethic. He is also a master on the dozer, which many people don't realize, is one of the most difficult machines to master. He makes grading look easy and it isn't, not by a long shot. This young man is the whole package. He's pleasure to watch and admire.

I was laughing out loud when you said you would be cutting a larger access hole in that roller. I was really looking forward to seeing your no-nonsense approach to fixing things applied to that old roller. You repairing things is probably 70% of my enjoyment of your channel. The skid steer roller attachment is a graceful way to fill the need. I don't think vibratory rollers are used to break rock, just compact the ground, right?
Agree. His skill at setting up shots and editing is easy to overlook because it’s so professional. There was a short segment with the bulldozer putting rock on drive where it appeared he used 2-3 camera setups plus possibly a drone, in only a minute.
There's a special place in hell for engineers that design machines that are difficult to fix. Someone's about to spend eternity replacing hydraulic lines on that roller.

You’re welcome. I just put out three videos on a bigger roller, those are some pretty cool videos. this skid steer attachment isn’t really powerful enough for rolling down rock. The big roller is much stronger
First thing I thought of when I saw that old timey roller was Fred Dibney and his steem powered collection. What a monster and all the repair videos you would have to make.
My dad was born 1920 and left work at the bank the first day and became a life long aviation engineer. He would often say “ He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day.”
I'd say he is really smart. Bought a machine, assessed it's potential, found the plusses and minuses. Don't know if Andrew lost money or made money or broke even on the deal. But it doesn't matter. He figured out it wasn't worth his time and cut it loose. Bought what works for him. Good on you Andrew.
When AC gets new equipment, he tests it thoroughly. In this vid, he proves it can pack stone, break bigger rocks, give you a glass-flat road and paddywhack a lawn mower, big screen and a pumpkin until they become part of the driveway at the molecular level. Great call on that roller repair. Sometimes you just don’t want the hassle, especially as you know well enough the pain you’ll be putting yourself through.

I know just what the Container Castle needs. Two things: 1) zip-line from the upper level above the hot tub to the ponds below and 2) a swing fixed to the north side of the CC roof with the step off located next the tower at the hot tub level. Oh, ya!
I agree that hydraulic fix looked like a nightmare, through that small opening and with the loading problem besides. New one clips on and off as needed.

Nice attachment. I agree with your thoughts regarding ease of transportation and already having the skid steer. It'll be a very versatile tool for you and I'm sure like you said, it'll work wonders on freshly laid material, for example on all of those driveways you had put in previously.

Sort of the same with tv, why are we doing pay TV subscriptions when we can all just get over the air tv antennas and watch tv for free. Granted, over the air HAS supposedly existed since probably before world war 2 depending on the source you depend on and country you come from, but, still, pay subscription tv services is sort of a dated idea these days in my opinion.

Idk. I'm not a construction person but from the outside looking in, these rollers always seem to not compact the soil much at all. And the attachment is even lighter so it has less force pushing down on the soil. You massaged that road for so long and it barely changed much at all. That's just what it looks like, though. If you say it's gonna be useful then it probably will be. You know what you need.
His road already has lots of gravel embedded in it, and the mountain he's on is basically a big rock. I was surprised how well the roller worked, given its size. Having a vibrator in it is a big win.
I have this roller in the 84” model, I use it on a loader and a skidsteer you are right it is not as good as a dedicated roller , it’s the el Camino syndrome! Not a good car or truck , with this being said it’s does the job well , I bought mine used ,if buying new it would be hard to justify, also a real roller is very expensive new or used
