    People forget that when people say, "That's fatherless activities." They don't mean every single person raised without a father is horrible. It means statistically speaking kids who grow up without a dad have a higher likelihood of being criminals or do bad things.

      @Allison-jj1vq no doubt, there's probably plenty of people who'd be lucky to be removed from their mother's care too, but that's not the point. • @abeltesfaye_
      @abeltesfaye_ Месяц назад +23

      Actually, the WORST punishments I've ever had that I actually learned from and wanted to avoid, never involved physical punishments. My mom would have us, "stand in the corner," for 30 minutes - sometimes more & sometimes less, but we weren't allowed to stop facing the corner and couldn't see any clocks so we would have no idea how much time had passed. It was HELL 😂 It also stuck with me so much longer than being spanked!
      My parents were all about accountability. When I was like 8, I stole a plastic bracelet from my friend's house next door. When my mom found out, she marched me across the street and I had to tell my friend and her parents what I had done. It traumatized me and I haven't stolen since. My mom didn't even yell at me (or spank me), instead she talked with a very calm, but stern, voice & asked me if I knew what I did was wrong. I admitted it was wrong & that's when she told me I had to give it back and apologize. It stuck with me forever & worked a lot better than spanking me would have

    • @grogan8726
      @grogan8726 Месяц назад

The man I ended up sitting next to ended up being an off duty air marshall, he held my hand as we took off/landed and just kept conversation with me to keep my mind occupied. My whole life I've wanted to be a teacher. I see this.. it isn't worth it. Going to school for 7-8 years and all the training and debt just for me to jack up some asshole kid who deserves it or catch a false rape claim from some shitty spoiled 16 year old girl who I graded fairly just isn't worth it. It makes me sad because I love helping people and being "that person" who could be a mentor and who isn't afraid to explain the world to kids and young adults and help explain our crazy world to incredibly confused kids who need real truth and who are dying to be treated, talked to, respected, and given real expectations to as adults makes me sad because it's just not possible anymore.
      There aren't any "rites of passage" anymore. No one ever treats teens and young adults with the respect they deserve and need. Look, there are 35 year olds out here who want bailouts and free or cheap everything. No one ever had the balls to tell them what their future could be, now they're in it, and depressed and killing themselves and others instead of doing what they could have done and being who they could have been if ANYONE was dedicated to helping them.

    That woman committed a misdemeanor or a felony technically. You can not prevent someone from moving. It is called false imprisonment. It is in the U.S. Constitution. It has been challenged over time. Paul v. Virginia 75 U.S. 167 (1869) where it was defined and so forth throughout the 1800s. She has zero authority to stop her and try to prevent her from moving the way she tried to put herself on that delivery truck.

    The problem with the way that some kids are acting with teachers is that it is causing record numbers of teachers to quit. They should not be expected to deal with verbal or physical abuse. There have always been kids like this, but IMO there are more, worse, the parents enable and the schools will not deal with them. The teachers are given too much responsibility for things that they actually have no power over, and no way to instill any meaningful coconsequences. No one should have to teach/work with someone who regularly assaults them. What that teen did in the school, was assault. Kid was probably back in that teachers class within the week with no change.

It’s not that kids didn’t put their hands on adults back in the day, it’s just that adults could put their hands on kids too. 😂 So in some ways it is a generational issue. You just need some semblance of intelligence tbh. I didn’t have ANY good role models in my life. But all that did was make me realize I shouldn’t be like them. And I’m objectively more empathetic and caring and most people. I may have my own executive function issues that hinder my self growth but I do my best to treat people well and to make sure nothing I do impedes on another person. I’m always 100% aware of who is around me and if I’m impeding on their comfort in some way or not.
      Hell, most people who grew up WITH good parents can’t say the same thing. Because it’s sort of a double edged sword. If you have too good of a life you end up unable to really consider the perspectives of others since it’s always been about you. I see this all the time when I’m driving; people constantly cutting others off, speeding, tailgating, etc. which is indicative of a fundamental lack of outside consideration. Same if you go online and see people telling someone to off themselves over an opinion of a movie or something. And in that regard it’s not really the individuals fault for being too self absorbed. It’s just sad that most people don’t even realize they’re in that situation of being incapable of being considerate to those around them.

    I'm liking the evolution and direction of the channel/content. Keeps getting better without leaving the old classic stuff behind.

    It's a metaphor, not...not literal..right? Right?
