    you literally crossed the tracks, In an active station with people and trains, and over a third rail. To get to the abandoned section, crazy how you didn't get caught by anoyone or killed by that 3rd rail or a train

      You hear a train coming minutes before it’s actually there… And i suppose the actual power of the third rail is still quite protected inside the 3rd rail. You would have to stick your hand inside it on purpose go get an actual shock. Of course it’s totally crazy to do this, if authorities caught him he would get a fine or be put in jail, but i don’t think it’s necessary to tell the uploader that.

    GASP! It was you. They closed those gaps from the J/Z platform with wooden boards last year.

    They were once plans to connect the second Avenue line to it (at least a branch of it). It would at least put this section to good use. Than the 2nd Avenue could extend to Brooklyn via 4th Ave with the "R".

    How it got abandoned? And why there are lights on?

    • @PrimaryConsult
      @PrimaryConsult Год назад +8

      It used to be the northbound platform for the J/Z. They moved the northbound trains to the former southbound express track and walled off this side of Canal and Bowery. There are lights because the old northbound track still works, they use it to store trains.

    В целом станция построена добротно , бетон ,металл . На стенах кафельная плитка .Опоры железные с заклепками . Напоминает станции Войковская ,Речной Вокзал ,Водный стадион в метро Москвы . Но ,Какой пьяный дизайнер придумал красить потолок в черный цвет ?
