- In this episode we spend time at the Painted Cliffs anchorage on the eastern shore of Carmen Island. The eastern shore is less traveled, and of the anchorages on the eastern shore, Painted Cliffs is even less traveled. We took our time to walk the beach, explore some whale bones and snorkel along the rocky outcropping. It was all topped off by a group of dolphins that swam through the anchorage.

This is our trawler life story.
We retired early and decided to make a big change. We sold everything and moved aboard our 54' Cheoy Lee passagemaker, a “go anywhere in the world”, ocean going power boat.
That was in 2014 and we have never looked back.
Now in our late 50's we are free of work and we are living aboard and cruising our trawler full time.
We have two additional crew members, feline brothers, Blake and Barkley. Yes, we have two brave (sorta) boat cats, on board!
Join us and our crew, on our adventures as we explore new places, discover more about our trawler and what makes her work, and learn more about ourselves in our young retirement years. Our hope is to entertain and inspire you to pursue your own passions through telling our story of our cruising trawler lifestyle.
Thanks for watching, subscribing, and liking Cruising Sea Venture!

The fish sure are different looking, tropical unlike West coast fish
Thank you 👍

Cool video's👍
Dolphins slap their tail fin to corral fish
Those look like stegasauris bones maybe....
Would it be possible for Jim tp tie himself in place and use a pressure washer to clean the bottom?
So how do you refill the dive tank?
We have a MaxAir 240V dive compressor on board for filling tanks.
I recently purchased an iPad with Cellular and GPS and have subscribed to Navionics. I will use this exclusively on my boat for Navionics, Windy, Anchor Pro, display for my SimpliSafe cameras, etc. I have not purchased a cellular plan as my understanding such is not required to use it for navigation and my other purposes. Can I use this for coastal navigation without a cellular plan? I ask because you use your iPad for this exact use. Thank you, Rob.
Rob, you got it exactly right. You do not need a cellular plan, you just really needed the GPS which Apple combines with the cellular portion of the iPad. When you have Navionics, what you do want to do when connected to Wi-Fi is make sure you download all the church you want for the area you’re going to be. Hope that helps, Jim.
