- Susanne Wenger is a feature on the popular Austrian artist, Susanne Wenger who is also known as Adunni Olorisa of Osogbo on the programme ARAMBARA.
ARAMBARA is the TV show that celebrates the culture, history, entertainment and splendor of the Yoruba people. The show is all about festivals, historical sites, movies, music, celebrities and all that has to do with Yoruba people. Arambada is anchored by Tunde Oladimeji. It will now be in history that without iya Adunni, osun osogbo will not have been known. The Europeans will always use us and meddle with our culture. How can she interpret our culture for us. Sad sad sad for yoruba.
She did not interpret our culture. She became one of us. An initiate for that matter.
I own two Susanne Wenger silkscreen prints, originally acquired by my parents in West Africa in the 1960s.
I also have two, purchased from her at the end of my Peace Corps service in 1966 (which was near Oshogbo)
Priceless prints keep safe.

I have immense issues that an oyinbo is being revered in this manner.

She didnt define. She enhanced and made us aware of our roots instead of bringing western religion to confuse us all

Background music too distracting. Killed the whole essence of the narrative.
ademola solanke I wouldn't really think so Sir. I think the music contributed so much fun, and I think the idea too was to celebrate those Yoruba singers altogether. Thank you Sir, lovely comment still.
They should have lined Ogunde, even Elebuibon, Ishola Ogundepo, Fonyanmu et al up for the background music.

All this Mama Adunni Orisha talk.. Na wa oo . I am sure she copied a print for the future Europeans to work on when they get more advanced right from Osun and boom pasted it in Austria where many of the german scientists moved to from old Germany where in the future they get to say it is a white woman that could revive our culture and we Yorubas the owner of the culture isnt able to hear or get inspiration from Osun our mother. Just the same way Jimmy carter was in Otta Farms during his cancer time and all of a sudden he got cancer free and moved to america and all of a sudden Jimmy carter medical foundation is birth. I know many of my people still dumb asleep.

You must know nothing about yoruba culture then. The louder the better
The music is great. It goes very well with the documentary. And it wasn’t loud. The speakers can be heard and understood quite easily. I’ve seen/heard movies where the background music is both irrelevant and overpowering and totally annoying . This is not one of those scenarios.
