Funny thing is those gobby little punks who were vomiting snakebites thought it was the intelligent, arty punks who wanted to shift horizons who weren't the real deal... Always the same, at some point you get hangers on jumping on the bandwagon, nothing to do with the original ethos and it wrecks it. As soon as something becomes fashionable it goes down the toilet.

paul despite what a fair few punk fans think about the jam you WERE NEVER a punk.one of the reasons i got into it in 76 was a hate of suits and i dont care if they were sta press or tonic.THE JOLT were a far better band from WISHAW than the tubestation in midnight MODs and didnt get a tenth of the attention.problem with PUNk was the art punk brigade and journalist elite in NME etc who started to hate punk as soon as 1978 came,pounding on about uniforms etc.Think they really missed the flaired suits and cabaret funk???Then new romanticism and funk/soul showbanding came back in the 80's and THE REAL POSERS resurrected themselves...............thank fck for the PUNk/OI(and ska)diehards and the brilliance of Holidays in the Sun,Rebellion,Chaos in Hannover,etc etc
