Welcome to my fleet histories series. In it I review year-by-year aircraft fleets of an airline.
In this video I go through the the history of Air Canada's Boeing 747 fleet from 1971 until it was retired in 2004.

The nostalgia from this one video is PURE
I wished Air Canada keeping 747s they were fantastic aircraft!
Preston Snowbird im ten and i freaking wish they kept them
It will be ugly with the 2017-present livery.
Mahbooba Akhter I mean the new one looks a lot more like the old one
They were certainly not economically fantastic.
NXG Roberto it’s True, The new one is like a Reboot of the 1965-1994 Livery (the 1965 livery was modified till 1994)
I flew Air Canada B747 Frankfurt to Toronto on 21/9/1998. It was a fantastic experience. Majority of the passengers were emigrants to Canada from former Yugoslavia.
My first flight ever, was on an AC 747 in 1972! It would have been a relatively new aircraft at that time. Fell in love with the 747 and think they are the best aircraft of the modern era. I liked the original livery the best, as well!
Thank you for loads of memories aboard these planes
retired so early
Me too.
Don’t worry... Me Too
me too:(
Well this will make you jealous but I saw Lufthansa 747
Me to
😔😒
This should be the theme song for all b747s
2:09 this is way before United 747 has their first flight in ‘94.
‘94?? ‘71
@@JayJayAviation I guess he means the -400 variant
United got the 747-400 in 1989 lmao
@lee-gf9xl you have a point
God Bless the Boeing 747!

I July 1993 I flew from Glasgow to Toronto a unaccompanied minor was put in my seat and I was upgraded to business class seat number 61 J I always wanted to fly air Canada and fly on a 747 and see the upper deck I done all 3 I was at the rear of the 747 on the return to glasgow 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I did see the air canada 747
Lucky
Nice music
Nice
I wonder if the picture of 1996, 2:37 is an Air Canada 747 doing the checkerboard approach to Kai Tak?
They introduced a new livery in 2004.
Like my BEA/BA 1-11 history, no aircraft were painted in the new livery, and it was released only a few months before retirement.
I can remember flying on these and A340s in 2004 and 2005
Afsana Rashid: I use to fly a lot of these as a pilot
Nice name :P
I never knew that the Boeing 747 was this old
My first business trip was lon-yvr with air canada, great flight my first flight on the 747
I dont have enoth video material for a best of so it will take a bit :)
Just go further back in my channel's history then :).
Air Canada 747s are the coolest airplanes they've ever flown, what's really sad is that after September 11 Air Canada was forced to retire the 747-400s early. People wished the 747-400s continued flying until retirement probably into the early 2010s.
i never knew air canada even had the 747
I have a model of CF-TOA
That’d be cool with Air Canada still had them
the 747 was and is the best there is if I was going to have a private plane this baby would be it!!!!!!
Nice 747 1971 2004
my mom was born in March 1971
After you do TUI 737, can you do Qatar A340?
OK :)
Can you do Fedex Airbus 300 and 310
Say a300 and a310 not 300 and 310
United 767-200. Please. Thanks.
It will be the next one, I've had it on my list for a while now :).
Ibirdball in the united 767-200 video put a clip of the 767-200 almost hitting the north tower with a heaven song plz.
Aldi Shabani first of all, flight 175 hit the south tower, second of all, that's not a good idea
Song name
I never knew air Canada operated a 747
Lol
I actually had the opportunity of flying on an AC 747 at least twice! Lovely aircraft to fly in!
I wish Air Canada bought a 747-8
TUI 737-8K5 plz
Might be a while, but sure :).
P.S Including Britannia Airways?
2:07 this is a 747 combi
Good eye
1996 kai tak approach?
Yes. The photo at 2:19 is as well.
I was a 747 Canada air in 2013
No you weren’t
They retired all of them in 2004
Like uhh, why don’t they order the 747-8 so then they got them again
777-300ERs are big enough for Air Canada and they’re a lot more efficient
why did thy retire the 747-400 so early!
That it what I want to know.... But I'm pretty sure because of the amount of fuel it uses.
They had retired them because they went into bankruptcy from what I remember.
@@succotash6732 That makes more sense.
-100 or -200?
Mr Chicken theres also the 300 and 400
The -100, -200 Combi, -400 and -400 Combi.
Ibirdball ah wow
All 747 operated by Air Canada is now retired R U KIDDING MAH???! 2004>2007(theyearIwasborn₩
It was replaced by the A340 in Air Canada service.
Sad
