- Today I will show you how to Install macOS 11 Big Sur on an Unsupported Mac.
On top you can learn how to fix macOS Big Sur problems (can't Install on Macintosh HD) here; iboysoft.com/mac-data-recover...
To be clear this guide shows you how to install Mac OS Big Sur, it is up to you to backup your data first and use Big Sur at your own risk, I am not responsible for any loss of data etc...For me as you can see I installed Big Sur and it worked for me, however due to unforeseen circumstances I can't help with all install steps if it doesn't work out for you. I also can't support or guide you on the use of additional Apps you may install like for example Office (word, powerpoint, excel), Final Cut Pro, Photoshop etc... they may work - they may not. However do help others in the comments if you get Apps to work what other are struggling with.
Please make sure your Mac is Compatible here;

Using Patched Sur Patcher; I have successfully installed MacOS Big Sur 11 onto a 2012 MacBook Pro and you can to on your Intel Mac!
You will need a USB stick and a copy of MacOS Big Sur 2020 and the patcher.
The USB stick I have used and works with MacOS Big Sur is this one;

Thank you for the information and excellent instructions. The installation went perfect with the Big Sur Patch, just had to figure out the kext patch for WIFI and Bluetooth. Once I moved it to my SSD and started it, all went smoothly. I am like a kid with a old but super modern toy. I have 2 x 8Gb Storage and 2 x 524gb SSD. A mid 2012 Macbook Pro. It purrrrs like a kitten. Well done to all the developers, and thank you Matt Talks for your RUclips. Keep up the good work. 😀🤗
Fantastic tutorial. Buttery smooth. Thank you!

Is your Mac still working well?
Just did the installation on my mid 2012 13. Tried Monterey and Ventura on OCLP. But this is by far the best. Big Sur works very well on this machine

Can you install apps now?
Did you have to install Catalina first or did you go from High Sierra straight to Big Sur?
Easy and clear tutorial
Thanks man keep up the good work.
😅
Nice video matt and good to understand thanks 😊
Excellent Job it worked like a Charm
Very easy guide thank you
Thank you very much.
This was of immense help at a crucial moment!
This video was an amazing tutorial. I hadn’t updated my 2012 MacBook Pro 13inch 750gb since November 2013. I was still running Yosemite Mac OS. I went to the apple icon/url bar when using the search engine and while on the apple website engine I searched for Mac OS Catalina install. Before I installed it I had to go to the privacy setting in system preference to allow third party developers, because while on Yosemite Mac OS I could even search for any updates in the App Store for other Mac OS apps. After doing the privacy setting change I was able to download Mac OS catalina 10.15.7 from there I was able to follow the tutorial of this video by connect a usb thumb drive (32gb). The steps were all the same except in the video (Matt talks tech) had an older version of Mac OS Catalina. I have 1Gig internet speed, which is really fast and downloading Catalina from Yosemite took me 4hours. Then downloading Catalina to Big Sur took me 3.5 hours. I have Big Sur 11.5.1 while the video shows Big Sur 11.2.3 Also don’t worry about the language setting - it says “Canadian English” which you can’t change but it really doesn’t make a difference. Also when choosing the Big Sur download after the reboot while holding “alt” button the color is green next to the purple “eif” button then chose the Mac intosh drive to the left because your usb drive is the one to the right. The internet not working part is scary because the “launch pad” icon changes to this “mix bar” icon like when you group a bunch of apps together. There is where you’ll find the patched Sur download which changes looks as mentioned in the video. Click it and you’ll find the kexts which will allow you to enable the WiFi to turn back on after having restarted/rebooted the MacBook Pro, then click clean leftovers like the video says and the whole update is complete. I was really about to go and buy a new lab top because my kid needed one for school and these chrome books they give these kids are horrible. He’s really happy because he doesn’t have to use the chrome app no more and the apps the teachers use to spy on the kids computers don’t work on safari.
it works...nice tutorial and content..very helpful..
Thank you so much...everything works out of the box, great explanation

Thanks for the video ,I just upgraded a 2010 MacBook Pro. It did not read USB flash drive ,had to use back up drive but all went well. Great help thanks again.
7 months later I know. I assume it was a mid 2010 Macbook pro you had same as mine. Mine has 4gb only so I'll probably stick to Catalina. Also waiting for an 8gb stick to make this a 10gb so I can max it out according to research otherwise I'd go for 16.
Good Video, very helpful
thanks for the tutorial.
Great video Thanks
Thanks for a nice way in showing it -all seems well - clearly speaked and no rush as other youtube tutorials about this subject! THANKS BIG

Hi Mr. Ravi, how is your Mac 2011 working with Big Sur if you have installed. I want your feedback as I want to install Big Sur OS on my MacBook Pro 2011.
Dit it work?
@@drsurajpal, I tried installing Big Sur with Patched Sur and OpenCore Legacy Patcher as well, both the patchers work the same. But MacBook is laggy and gets hot every time with 2 or 3 apps open
Did it work ?? I have a MacBook early 2011 also and want to install
@@gfmrobb6207 I downgraded to Catalina, you can try Installing Big sur on MB 2011 if you have ssd and 8gb ram. But as Big Sur requires accelerated graphics, it takes 7-10 seconds just to close Safari, by that mean Machine becomes unusable.
Nice thank you
can't wait to do this on a late 2013 iMac!!!!!
yey! thanks
Karen alert
I was able to install the latest version of Ventura on a 2010 iMac 27" and it works flawless.
how it doesnt work for me bc patched sur is not there anymore
@@Alpxrr ruclips.net/video/McmO7xP4wvI/видео.html, I followed the instructions of this link. I downloaded Monterey first and I was able to successfully upgrade to Ventura with no problem.
Thanks, can you please help to set up 2 display on this same mac ?
After running the patched updater does the software updater then keep you up to date? or do you need to run through this every time? IE if you get to 11.5 can you go to 11.6 via software update or do you need to over write your system each patch?
Hello there:
I have managed to run Big Sur on my 2008 MacBook using OpenCore Legacy Patcher instead; as mine is identical to yours (mid-2008 MacBook A1278 with the upgraded Core 2 Duo P8600) sans the different keyboard layout, it should work for yours as well.
Thank you for the comment, maybe i will try on a 2010.
Thanks for the great video. IMPORTANT questions though @Matt Talks Tech . Can you do a recovery later on in the normal way? Or do you have to take a specific path using the patcher tool??
you can recover later
Thanks.
my mac is exactly same as the mac in the video, but has 16gb ram and 512ssd.. so will be installing this
Thank you Matt,
It initially didn’t work for me as you said if you need to erase (you run older than catalina) you can do format APFS, which it did not work for me it worked when I erased as Mac OS extended journal

How did you get the SSD and the original hard drive to be used together. Do you have a video for that? Thanks 😊👍

Hi, if we had to do with the terminal the deactivation of the discrete graphic card(very common issue in the batch o 2011), will doing this cause the loss that configuration?(this loss would cause the failure to be back as discrete card would be active again). thanks in advance

I am on a old OS, OS X 10.9.5, to be exact. And it say's no mountable file systems, when I click on the DMG. The only reason why I am on this OS is because I bricked my Mac Mini, I had to do a sort of recovery mode by holding Command+R while starting the computer. And it reseted me to this OS. I am trying my hardest to not freak out but I know there is a way. If you can help, it would be highly appreciated. I would like to install Window's 7 or 10 so I can get back to where I was, before.
