I love my Fear and Loathing story. Heard about the book on an episode of Blossom around 1996 and immediately got it from the library, loved it. Just a few months after finishing it I saw Hunter on Charlie Rose talking about the upcoming movie. I told my friends "you HAVE to read this, then see this!" I managed to drag two of them with me opening weekend, we were the only 3 people in the theater. Which would have made us the only ones responsible for the pot smoke in the theater lol. I enlightened two people that day. Thanks, Mayim Bialek lol.

The frightening thing about Hunter S. Thompson's political writings is they were seen as paranoid and delusional at the time, but with retrospect he'd pretty much understated things.
Also, there is a fine line between genius and crazy. Hunter S. Thompson walked that line about as well as a man in the depths of an ether binge.
