    You can also heel-toe before preforming a braking drift for faster deceleration at high speeds and to shift the weight of the car to the front before entering a corner. Just like Takumi does it in Initial D. :) This helps preform the braking drift even better because just like the Scandinavian flick, it throws the cars weight but this time is done directly with the engine and not inertia. This is also known as a third brake in a car.

    • @drivingobsession7900

    I already knew the stuff in the basic video and most of this but how do you keep the drift long? If you go on Driftjunkies everyone's running this track with the E30 Drift. I have little problems to do any of the techniques shown here but I can't keep the drift that long as they do just with the accelerator pedal when it's initiated

    • @drivingobsession7900
      @drivingobsession7900  7 лет назад +1

      AndreAgonia Well I don't know what you doing wrong but just guessing that you are drifting with too much angle. If you want to make long drift, start the corner with less angle ( less car sideways ) and only at the end of the corner increase it. It's hard for me to put it in words :D Could really help you out if you could show me some footage of you drifting :)
      And they definetely not using just Accelerator. Left foot braking and handbrake really helps to maintain the drift and clutch kick as well :)

    • @drivingobsession7900
      @drivingobsession7900  6 лет назад

      Hey! Your setup looks perfect just i suggest you use Abs. It is the only thing I use and other assits off like you mentioned there. There are no advanced settings really... It supposed to be hard at first :) you could try to use some stability assist but i believe that it is better to learn with realistic settings.

    • @slzccc
      @slzccc 6 лет назад

      DrivingObsession ye i want to do it right. I will try with abs and i will msg there id it helps. Also my friend told me, i have wrong ffb setup, thats why my slides cant be clean, and in the corner the car instead of drift gently, for some reason spin me out

    • @drivingobsession7900
      @drivingobsession7900  6 лет назад

      Well it spins you out for a couple of reasons : either you are too slow with countersteering or too much throttle in the drift initiation. And yeah it is important to have a good FFB settings. But I have a little different wheel than yours so can't really help you with that... Try searching on google, and then edit by yourself if you feeling something is wrong. Because myself I didn't find any " perfect " FFb settings, always had to edit a bit.

    • @drivingobsession7900
      @drivingobsession7900  6 лет назад

      Well Assetto corsa is way more realistic in terms of physics than furidashi so it is supposed to be harder. I had some real liife drifting experience and all I can say is that assetto corsa is extremely close to reality... You can try drifting with stability control at first if you want, but i recommend not. I have a little different wheel so I think it would be better for you to check out some g25 setups online :)

    • @drivingobsession7900
      @drivingobsession7900  4 года назад

      @@nomenbeb5747 Oh ok. Well drifting speed will be the highest when drifting angle is minimal. The more you increase angle, the more drifting speed will decrease. I don't remember exact speed though... You just have to feel it I guess... I would say that about 75 km/h would be the maximum speed... Once again, you just need to lower drifting angle and speed will be higher. Hopefully this answer was helpful :)

    • @drivingobsession7900

      It secures engine from stalling. Because when you pull E'brake car Rpm's are very low, so if you won't press the clutch the car will stall. In assetto corsa it is not neccesary because it is impossible to stall... But in real life it would matter :)

      You’re probably in too high of a gear for the turn. Most turns on the drift track in assetto are 2nd gear turns. If you’re in too high of a gear, the car won’t be able to climb RPM’s nearly as well and will have a loss of power

      You need to drift in practice mode. When you are in the menu, above there are different modes, for example, race weekend, drift, practice, hotlap and so on... If you choose drift there will be a timer

      i would suggest training by doing circle drifts as long as you can. For example Tajo track mod has a roundabout in the beginning... Could practice there. It's a combination of throttle and steering. Just have to train those :)

    • @drivingobsession7900
      @drivingobsession7900  4 года назад

      I would say there are a few things that help with this problem...Weight transfer technique is the main thing for transition drifts... Also proper throttle control as well as increasing drift angle gradually, without slowing the car too much. For me it just all started to come together after lots of practice...

    This is a bit misleading in terms of technique. I would suggest to watch the Drift Bible for a demonstration of technique.
    Not to mention the captions are misleading. There's not even half of the available techniques to get a car sideways.

      I suggest you read Ultimate Speed Secrets by Ross Bentley. He details how to trailbrake and how to take corners in general. It's all applicable to drifting. By combining flicks, clutch use and pulsing the brake with trailbraking you can do a lot of stuff.

      DrivingObsession yeah lol , and what track surface do you recommend for drifting ?

    • @drivingobsession7900
      @drivingobsession7900  6 лет назад

      Sorry for a late respond... i always drive on optimal surface, doesn't matter if I'm drifting or racing. It has more grip so it is more difficult. For example on dusty surface the grip level is very low so it is easier to start drifting and maintaining it as well :)
