I really liked Paradais, I preferred it even over Hurricane Season, which I also liked. I liked it for all the reasons you were talking about, but also for the writing and the imaginary (e.g. water).
oh, you're the first person i've heard say they like it more than Hurricane Season! must admit i don't remember the water stuff, was it descriptions of the river?
It was great to hear your thoughts on Beautiful World! Especially since you liked Normal People so much. This one sounds exactly like what I expect but I've still been thinking about giving the audiobook a shot just to be part of the conversation haha She seems to be going on a very different direction with her upcoming book, which is interesting.
yeah i feel like it'd be a good book to talk about with other ppl, but maybe that's not much of a saving grace... oo didn't know bout the upcoming book, honestly i really hope she goes in a new direction, maybe the worst part of BWWAY was it made me feel like i "get" Sally Rooney books and don't need to read any more, and i want to be wrong about that lol
“If they had moustaches they’d be twirling them” = 😂 It’s too bad The Last Cuentista didn’t work for you. I liked it better than you did but I agree that the narrative shifted a lot once the ship left Earth. I’ve listened to her follow-up novel as well, Alebrijes. I think you would have the same moustache-twirling problem with it. Good luck coming up with a format for your videos… or settling on no particular format. Regardless, I’m always interested in what you have to say about books.
ah i didn't know there was a follow-up novel! i'm glad you read it and think i'd have the same problem with it; otherwise i might have wondered about trying it out, just in case...~ Thanks Lindy! ♥ lots more to come =)
thank u =) tbf to the last cuentista i think the target age group might enjoy it more than i did, but i'm still gonna hate on it for all the wasted potential lol such a strong opening...
Btw loving your long hair ✨ you had a band ?? What did you do ? I was in a band also haha, I’m a singer 🙃 Paradais sounds super interesting , that is going on my TBR straight away
cheers! ✨of my friends, one did piano, one wanted to learn drums, and the other wanted to learn bass, so i figured i had to learn guitar and be the frontman 😋 wow, what kind of singing do you do? i'm so glad you'll never hear my teenage attempts at singing! 🎤🎸🎶 glad Paradais piqued your interest, it's a relatively quick read but leaves a nasty taste in your mouth...
@@apocalypsereading7117 love me a discomforting book ✨👌🏻 I’m going to get the Italian translation since it’s written in Spanish originally . Oh, what makes you think I am any good at singing ? 🤪 I sing everything because it is so much fun (actually it’s been a long time since I did it publicly) I loved country/rock in particular but I was also singing with my sister as a sort of duo and we’ve also been in a musical company (a very small one) I really miss it 🥹
@@booksandpizza that makes sense, Italian and Spanish feel like siblings rather than cousins in the Latin family tree ~ i love how your sister always turns up in your stories!! a musical company, fantastic... i was in a very small dance group back in Japan and miss it lots, maybe we're both performers at heart 🎭
your intense reactions to the characters is such a pleasure to hear. thanks for caring so much...
what a lovely thing to say! and a relief to someone who sometimes worries about caring too much about things =P hope you have a nice day ✨
@@apocalypsereading7117 ☺and you.
