I've seen Aeriths referral to this sequence as HER dream relatively overlooked. Here is my particular take on the situation, how it relates to the ending, and what sort of plot threads are fulfilled by it.

Using Rebirth's new plot elements as a means to give a canonical fulfillment of Cloud and Aerith's "One Date" promise was great imo. I also love how this also shows us another example of how the nature of these 'new worlds' work.
Gonna be hard watching Cloud let her go in Part III.....

I thought this "Dream Date Sequence" was amazing, and your analysis makes me appreciate it even more.
Great video, man! Do you think Sephiroth also has an empty materia like Cloud has now? The empty materia being the fake black materia (the "key") that Cloud gives to him where the Temple was? While Cloud has not only the hollow materia but the actual black materia too.
Yoooo.... I never even thought about that. It's funny too cause the game is practically spelling it out for the player while at the same time being vague about it. The thing with the dream worlds within the lifestream, I'll just treat it like how Kingdom Hearts treats dream worlds for now cause that's how I understand it. 😅
The greatest analysis…
I believe that ever time we saw the alternate sector five was all within Aerith’s dream AND her lifestream sequence.
The people in Sector five for the most of Rebirth were accepting of death but were nihilistic, But when the date happens people are still accepting death but with more optimism.
I came to the idea that the people in Aerith’s dream represent her mental/emotional state
Also side theory: The different Stamps before and during the date in sector five might be a result of Aerith making her choice when comes to accepting her fate
I Don't get it, if it's just a dream then where did the white material come from? like it's a physical materia that goes into the beagle verse
It isn't "just" a dream. Due to the consequences of defeating the whispers + Sephiroth/Jenovas influence, thsse "dream worlds" while most exist very briefly, they are very much real in their own way.
Especially when you consider it's contained within the Lifestream. And yes while Materia is itself physical, what gives it its power is something non-physical (planet/lifestreams knowledge, memories etc.)

@@TheLandiLodgeif the materia itself is physical, now there are two white materials in the same world. he knowledge and memories transferring part is ok, since cloud was knocked out and was in a dream state but now you have supposedly two physical objects in the same world how did he get the empty materia if he was just in a dream, which shouldn't be. In the same sense can anything be brought from the dream world with the portal will it cause paradox? Or were there are really two materias in the same place?
@@sujithg6902The planet white materie was stripped to Aerith by the Whispers, taking away from her all her knowledge and memories that made it.
So “lifestream Aerith”, the OG one, the one able to preserve jr consciousness in the lifestream, took Cloud consciousness in the lifestream and gave him a new white materia.
That’s why Sephiroth once he sees it says “that doesn’t belong here”.
