When you have fifty million dollars you can wear any kind of hat you like. Its good to see George looking happy. His talent has brought so much pleasure to the world. I hope he is living his best life now.
Are you forgetting when he was sentenced to 15 months jail for fasely imprisioning a male escort, handcuffing him to a wall and beating him with a chain?
He certainly was, as far as I am aware none of the 80´s singers have yet to have been arrested and convicted for falsely imprisoning anyone and beating them with a chain.
My brother introduced me to Boy George by playing his songs in his room. I heard it and went to his room to ask him "Wow who is this?". I've loved Boy George since then! Every time I heard his voice in "Do They Know It's Christmas" I would get goosebumps. I would love to meet him! My brother died when he was only 34 so whenever I hear Boy George I smile because it reminds me of my brother. Thank you for the smiles George!
Hasn't he? I've been watching and following him from the very beginning and I'd like to think I've "grown up" as well. He's always been so fantastic and becomes more so with time.
I’m a baby boomer and went to a lot of concerts in my day. I grew up on R&B but today I enjoy a range of all kinds of music. Music has no color. I say this, because I had the opportunity to see Boy George and Culture Club in San Antonio, TX back in the 80s and I will say it today, that was the BEST concert I ever attended in my entire life. I got the songs on my playlist today and will always enjoy his music. 🎶 An amazing entertainer.😊
I LOVED Boy George growing up. My mom would put in his records and my brother and I would dance around the house 4 hrs. I give ANYTHING to go back to those days. RIP to my brother😢
I am so enjoying listening to George speak. He has such great depth, wisdom and insight. He is kind and warm and caring. He shares what he knows and he has such balanced and common-sense views on the world. Not to mention he writes amazing songs which will live on forever. He is an inspiration to me.
55-year-old white American woman! A fan since the early 80's. Several of his songs are still on my playlist. I remember his videos on MTV when MTV was truly music television. I was mesmerized. We had KISS and 80's metal on this side of the pond, so Boy George's appearance wasn't shocking. He was just pretty. I love seeing him on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. My Irish brother from another mother. I would love to have an original work of art from him. That will never happen, but I can dream.
I always say that most people react rather than respond... and that responsibility is just the "ability to respond" (rather than react). Great interview George, thank you!
My sister loved him, and as a straight kid growing up, I knew he was gay, but I was totally flabbergasted that he was such a nice and chilled guy, I was always told by my grandmother that "gay = evil", but Boy George was the opposite to this reality, I am so glad my sister introduced him to me, and as a result I grew up rejecting homophobia and to this day I respect the hell out of this guy. I saw him live in Majorica for my 18th Birthday back when he DJ'd and that night was such a wonderful experience. Thank you, Boy George!! You brought homosexuality into the world of normality. You really were revolutionary for many straight people like me, i hope you realise that xx
He is a very interesting man who always has a lot to say. Very unique and intelligent . I have always enjoyed him as a performer. He is definitely an individual.
Boy George has nailed the balance of giving zero f**ks while giving his entire heart-a pillar of resilience, kindness, and unapologetic authenticity 🙌❤
I've always liked George's personality from what we see of it. There's nothing fake about his personality. He's talks with honesty and without pretentiousness. He's certainly not egotistical, despite being an international icon of pop culture.
Imagine how difficult and stressful it would be to put on an act all the time. Exhausting! Right? George doesn’t waste his energy like that! What you see is what you get. An abundantly authentic, creative man! This was an especially great interview.
George. You and your music allowed me to explore myself and survive my teenage years. You are endlessly fascinating and creative and I love you to bits!
I used to think Boy was the strangest coolest guy back in the 80s…and he was/is. He’s clearly a good man and helped me loads hearing his experience getting clean.
My great-grandmother LOVED Boy George! I moved to London for a music industry job in 1986, & she asked me if I could get his autograph for her. I couldn’t, so my boss signed an 8x10 glossy of him, & I sent it to her. No harm. No foul. Just a little white lie to make an old lady happy. She passed away in 1987 at the age of 93, her “autographed” photo of Boy George proudly displayed on the nightstand of her hospital room. ✌🏼

This is fantastic. Such a great human being. Thank you all for your work Edit: I'm ten years younger than Boy George, but look ten years older. A fantastic for 63. Damn
I play Culture Club vids and just get teary-eyed with nostalgia. And Boy George--his make-up then was so perfect. So ahead of its time. He expressed himself and challenged expectations and norms. His voice is uniquely him. You hear it and immediately know who it is. And with ALL of his adventures and recklessness throughout the decades, it delights me that he's still here! 😅❤ And now, still distinct, more polished, wiser and perhaps humbled, he's aged like a treasure.
Huge Culture Club fan. This talk was helpful to me. I’m going through some big life changes and to know I can gather the lessons and keep moving rather than punishing myself on repeat allows me to live better.
Boy George is sharp, very intelligent and misunderstood and him speaking about being loyal really hit me,because i was loyal to people that wasn't loyal to me the same way,and it was from the same people that you would least expect, and it's scary that people are like that,i really enjoyed this interview, and seen so much of myself in what he was saying about his life,i needed to hear this interview.
First time I ever bludged high school was when Culture Club came to Adelaide, South Australia. Loved George but then really went off him for many years. But we've all grown and I'm starting to like him again after this interview. He said some really wise things here.
@JJV69 oh how awesome!!! We were at the back. It totally overwhelmed city officials (they didn't expect Beatles turnout). George opens his autobiography talking about Adelaide and the insane reaction! 🍻👍
This man should've been knighted a long time ago! A true artist, musician, human, freedom fighter, pioneer and so much more. He was an artist that everyone could listen to. His respect for his family and mother is inspirational. Peace & Light to this grand man.
Excellent interview. You always get a great chat from George. It was nice to hear a wide variety of questions spanning so many eras. I didn't want it to finish 👍🏼
You Boy George were my first encounter with MTV at a friends house. Thank you for giving a whole generation the courage to be themselve. I appreciate you, and love your work. Then you fell and then you once again showed a whole generation how to be strong. I appreciate you and your work. Now you just are. Showing all of us how to carry on. I appreciate you and your work. I said it in 1981 and I'll say it again in 2025, I just love Boy George! He was the first person I saw that made me feel seen, for that I owe him a huge hug of gratitude. I'm beyond elated at how much work he has done on becoming such a mindful human. ❤❤
Fantastic interview.... unfortunately George doesn’t get the credit he deserves.. he was true trailblazer, while being totally authentic... his new music is fantastic...
I had a crush on boy george as a teenager saw him twice in culture club conserts 🎉 i think he has come so far in life and is so down to earth and has real good emostinal intelligence still a fan of his ❤
I'm a year older than George. While I wasn't a fan of his music, I've always admired his sincerity and candor. I recently took the time to listen his autobiography audiobook. Glad I did. ❤
I loved George since Colour By Numbers. I wore t-shirts, hung pics on the wall pasted to manila folders, and enjoyed the music as my harmonies of life at the time. The music was about being different, loving someone who doesn't love you, and feeling alone. Teenagers like me related to the angst, the excitement, the band, the music. Songs from back then still ring true today. So glad George is still with us. He has such a tender space in my heart and I still think he's fabulous. Dude, I'm an Aquarius.
He was such a pivotal part of my lifes history. I was 11, and a sheltered autistic Canadian who watched way too much TV; and Much Music was New Music Magazine back then. I don't have many memories as a kid, but I remember seeing him, in all his fabulousness, in my brothers room I snuck into, so I can watch videos in colour. I've watched a few of my idols pass on now, being a midlifer. I'm happy to see that he is still thriving. Thanks for this.
Amazing to watch him on this channel. Boy George is besides a member of Culture Club one of the best DJs I have ever experienced in a club in Amsterdam, right after he got out of jail. Till today still one of the best sets I have ever experienced, and I have been to hundreds of them.
What a very interesting & introspective interview! Boy George is so charismatic & intelligent, a beautiful person. I'm sure his mom is beaming down from heaven with pride! ❤❤ God bless you always Boy George & much success on your upcoming tour.

I’ve listened to the podcast also and loved every single minute. I admire and love George’s courage, intellect, kindness, humour and of course his immense talent. Life is wonderful with Boy George in it and we are truly blessed with all that he shares with us 🤗🪷♥️
32:45 George absolutely nails his appeal. The ability to be so out there and Avant-garde but still rooted to his upbringing and honest, it made for a wonderful combination. He was cutting edge but also warm and gentle. So many artists try so hard to downplay their roots as if they're an embarrassment, which always comes across as someone who's lost and a bit of a tosser.
He's a completely different character but both Robert Smith and Boy George are such open and honest people in interviews and seem so comfortable in themselves and their own vulnerability.

@samdasilva1914 I didn't know that. Makes sense.
He's very intelligent! The media and society was too busy painting him into a corner and judging him.
