I think the head area hooked bullhead. The fish has to much to go around to her to your hook. Hook mid to tail area. Nice catches brother. Good luck next trip.

Nice flatties ! The new light is perfect, I picked up a couple of battery operated bug zappers and use them on my boat and they really help. I keep mine at the front of the boat so it draws the bugs up there away from me.
I used bullheads on my setlines. Hooked them right through the top of the head. There's a soft spot off center either side. Hook goes in the mouth and out the top, keeping the hook always vertical.

Try a king kael by eagle claw in about a 10 ought when using bullheads I think they offer a better hooking % ng
