I'm going to watch it only to see if they've learned from their mistakes. That means:
1. Making Kirito way less overpowered/vulnerable
2. Giving the characters actual personalities.
3. Filling in those plotholes.
4. Having a decent villain. (It doesn't even have to be that good, just decent enough so they're a threat.)
5. No freaking filler. SAO has a really bad tendency to add unneeded filler.

I just finished watching this movie and I'm completely blown away on how amazing it is. Just wished I had seen it in the movie theater with a large audience. The people's reactions always make the experience much more exciting than how you watch it at home or alone.
I really hope that Asuna plays a good role and not just part of Kirito's harem. Besides that, I think the movie will be awesome, don't know why people are already judging it.

Anything where we get to see more flaws in Jesus-Kun is great because he could use some more. Since this is an original story they can do some more stuff with that, they don't need to be restricted by the source material.

I think that's the most popular reception in terms of the light novels. The best is the Aincrad arc, the absolute worst is the alfheim arc. The gun gale arc and mother's rosario arc were alright. Apparently, the ordinal scale arc is the second best arc after Aincrad.

Wanted a third series more than a movie
thomas sheppard No it's not, Season 3 would actually pick up right after where Season 2 ended. Straight from Mothers Rosario to Alicization Beginning. Not going to spoil for obvious reasons but Augma doesn't exist in the Light Novels, this is just a movie that uses elements from The series to bring back old fans and to hold everyone off because The entirety of the Alicization Story Arc is big enough to fit 48 episodes worth (about 2 seasons).

5. Kirito might actually have to lift a finger this time
6. Reki Kawahara appears to be taking notes and improving all the series' inherent flaws

the concept for something lke this is so cool, but would be completely retarded in a real world setting, unless of course they built buildings dedicated to ARMMOs with the entire place designed to be a city or battlefield, like the way a Laser Tag arenas are indoors.

SPOILERS REVIEW
I just finished my marathon of this show and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tho as good as it was, it could have been so much better. The characters were great, especially the main two. I'm a sucker for a good love story and they really did Kirito & Asuna justice with their relationship. The other characters were also good, but for me it was all about those two. I liked how they did Kirito's character, how he started off as a solo player and was almost like a pessimist. Then he got some development when he met Asuna and the others, it was nice to watch them grow as characters. As a fellow gamer myself, who's sunk over 100 days of his life into the virtual world, I can relate to them not wanting to leave the SAO world. And I thought the concept of getting stuck in a game was really cool. I really enjoyed it, but I did have problems with it too. I was never a big fan of the whole Yui situation, how she called them "Mummy & Daddy" to me it felt like the writers were trying to force a family together as quickly as possible. Like what's gonna happen to Yui when they actually have a real child of their own? it was cool at some points, but on a whole I didn't like it that much. I didn't mind the second arc of the series, the AOL Fairy world, it wasn't as good as the first, but it was okay. What I didn't like about it was how Asuna wasn't really in it, she was stuck in a cage for most of it and the show did this really weird character development with Kirito's sister/cousin or whatever she is. Kirigaya fell in love with Kirito and it was almost like incest but not really, I felt like it wasn't really needed and was totally unnecessary. The 3rd GGO arc was okay also, again I didn't really like how Asuna and the other characters got put in the backseat and didn't get much screen time. Most of the focus was on Sinon, and in all honestly, she never really does anything again after that arc. Like she's always in the background and stuff, but for someone who got 16-17 episodes of spotlight put on them, her character kinda just does nothing afterwards. And then the 4th and final arc was okay also, I was glad Asuna got most of the focus and character development. But I hate to say this, I was totally not drawn in by the dying girls storyline.I felt like the writers were just trying to tear jerk us, and for me it was unsuccessful. It wasn't a bad story, it just was kinda boring and felt forced. For me nothing was as good as those first 15-17 episodes, were they're stuck in SAO. Not only is it life or death in there, so the stakes are at their highest, but also because of the character development they all got. The other arcs afterwards didn't really have any risks, like if they died they could just respawn and stuff. There was some risk, I mean the GGO final had some life and death risk, but still nothing was compared to SAO arc were characters were dying almost every episode. Despite these little problems, SAO is a really great show. I would recommend to anyone considering watching. I really enjoyed my time watching. The final movie at the end was really, not only did it sorta take us back to the first arc, but you get to see what was on level 100, and how all the characters come together to fight the final boss. really cool movie, and the final scene of Kirito putting the ring on Asuna was really nice, the feels. Great couple, great show.

So basically u only like it when the spotlight and focus is on asuna and kirito,only their character development matters the most to u.The other ppl like sinon doesnt deserve the spotlight and asuna shouldnt be a backseat character at times?If that was true,this anime would just be a boring love story garbage.The ggo arc did everybody justice.They were introducing sinon,and ofc she was linked to ggo as an experienced player.Makes sense why she was always there with kirito to help him in ggo.The others in this situation didnt even know about ggo so they couldnt do anything.The only thing i can agree with u on is the yuuki arc.That didnt hit me so much emotionally so to me,that was just a waste of an arc.If u want good love story,u have come to the wrong place bud.This is a harem anime,so ofc there would be times where the main heroine wont be in the spotlight
