It's incredible that Addict basically started out as a fan song and then became an official music video!
No basically to it. Silva Hound developed it originally as a fan project, and things quickly developed into the official team getting involved. Having Michael Kovach probably helped, and I'm glad for whatever got the video made.
Side Note: Having not taken notice of fan projects of this nature before (I'm old), Addict was the start of a very deep rabbit hole fro me, and some of the remixes of it are quite good in and of themselves.
Canonically, the character Angel Dust is a gay man. His official death was in the 40's after an overdose of PCP.

I keep forgetting he died in the 40s and not the 60s. It's so weird to consider that because he and Alastor were alive around the same time and are probably close in age.
While Angel was always popular with the fanbase, there was some criticism before and after the release of the pilot. Some felt that he emphasized gay stereotypes with his effeminate design and hitting on every guy he meets. This softened when Addict came out. We see that not only is he trapped in an abusive relationship and has no control of what he does with his body, but the video brings attention to a horrid truth that is often ignored: abuse in the adult industry. There is a stigma that people who work in nightclubs and such are signing up for abuse. These people do have boundaries. Vivziepop created Angel after getting out of a toxic relationship which helps make him all the more relatable to abuse survivors. He has possibly surpassed Alastor as most favorited Hazbin Hotel character because of this.

He isnt even that bad or lustfull he just alraoches sex casualy which for a woman would be seen as empowering by the same people who offended by it in a gay man despite fadt they never ones would bring uo that straight men have had the same horny stereotype for generations and is often perpetuated by the same feminists who find it problematic in depictions of gay men as if being gay magicly makes a man less horny or somthing

If you notice in the Addict music video, Cherry Bomb destroys the places that causes Angel Dust problems.

The main building blown up at the in was one of Val's main clubs. But all the billboards that Cherri blew up were ads for the porn industry. Kinda hitting Val back for abusing Angel
If you look inside the club it says it was all a dream (7:33). Nothing was probably blown up
As others have noted, right from the creator, Angel is a cis-gendered, homosexual male. He and Cherri are described as being BFFs, but aside from that, we don't know much. Their relationship is supposed to be an important part of the series...along with a lot of other things.
...waiting for the series to premier is rather painful. Particularly given what the creative team have managed with Helluva Boss.
Edit: The pimp character is Valentino, one of the overlords of hell, and part of the 3 Vs
Valentino: Most associated with physical aspects of the sex trade, and he's been directly shown to act as a pimp with Angel and other demons. From some of the official stuff out there, sex is very much used as a reward and punishment by him.
Vox: Seen in the pilot, and is the one with a TV for a head. He's another overlord, and most associated with broadcast avenues of adult vice.
Velvet: Seen in the pilot as a female demon texting and interacting with Vox in the opening. She's young for an overlord, but her aspect is social media.
Between the 3 of them, they've got most of the vices in Pentagram City under their collective thumbs.

Angel Dust is a guy, he's just fluffy. Mainly because he's a Jumping Spider Demon. Try not to let his chest and choice of dress fool you. Vivziepop confirmed he's a guy and he's gay.
Valentino was angels pimp. Cherry was helping him get free by blowing up his clubs. I think him saying he overdosed and ended up comatose is how he died. I think cherry was in an abusive relationship or something too
I don't fully remember the details, but as far as Cherri goes, she ended up dying in a gang war. With her boyfriend, it maybe been a bit abusive considering he was a bounty hunter and, again I may be completely wrong, have had a hit on Cherri

4:39 the scenes that shift from the stage to the bed, are scenes of Angel going thru withdraws. Charlie has banned Cheri from the Hotel so she has to sneak in to visit Angel. Cheri is a overlord and not one bit interested in changing into a better person or redemption the only thing she really likes that Charlie is doing is getting Angel off the dope.

Where did you get that he’s going through withdrawals? It doesn’t look like that to me. Looks like he’s having a breakdown, which makes more sense. I don’t think, at the time, he took the hotel thing seriously enough to quit enough to have withdrawals.
@@SusanaCanales1 Human soul demons are perma death unkillable unless killed by a extremly powerful overlord like allistor or a demon lord /prince/ or angelic weapon. If killed they remanifest within a couple days. Angel brought a ton of coke with him into the hotel. But under the eyes of Vaggie and Charlie he wasnt able to get more in the hotel. Angel was on enough drugs daily to brain numb half of the pride ring.
When you have a addiction as powerful as angel's a few pounds of coke isnt even considered a true fix, its more like eating a mint and savoring a full meal.
Interesting he only talked about getting help and getting over coming drugs but not getting help or over coming sexual abuse. It was very clear Angel is still suffering from it and his dances are a coping mechanism he loves dancing because he feels in control and untouchable, just like how Cheri bombs coping mechanism is exploding things.
For *REAL* on addiction. Met way too many people when I was homeless for a couple years... The way things eat at you mentally and emotionally, it was no wonder so many turned to an escape from their problems. Even knowing it was only temporary. Even knowing it was detrimental. I didn't condone it, but could certainly comprehend the cause. Waking up each day, knowing no one, nowhere, cared whether you lived or died. Getting off drugs once addicted is no easy task. If you ARE doing so, use clean needles, kits, and drop sites to stay safe. Lessen usage gradually if you can't fully stop. Better only a little than not at all. Actively find other things to fill that emotional and endorphin void, be it new hobbies or communities. Spend more time with friends who don't use, so you won't be always tempted. And, relapses happen some time. It's OKAY if you fall down. What's important is trying to get back up. Most importantly though, is that you're *NOT* alone. There's volunteers, support groups, activity groups, and a wide variety of resources out there that people will happily help put you in touch with. I know it's easy to feel ashamed of your addiction, or to feel alone, or to feel altered by what it's done to you... but it's *NEVER* too late to reclaim your life.

I have met many people who struggle with addiction and mental health problems, but for the most part, it was good to hear from someone who continues to conquer the monsters and not end up jaded. God bless you and keep moving forward!

While the message may seem obvious because the song is called addict and the video starts off with a warning telling you the video contains sexual assault abuse and addiction you’ll be surprised at how many people just listen to the fun music and didn’t look at what the video was showing you 😔

This video shows you his life struggle he died of overdose in life and in hell he’s an addict that ended up in a bad spot even though he’s very sexual he’s in a abusive relationship with his pimp Valentino he does not en joy and possibly the drugs the pimp distributes. He took Charlies offer in some hopes that it could help him escape the misery he hides and a free room.

Thank you so much for speaking up about addiction. Someone I know just recently lost her daughter to a long battle with drug addiction, and it hurts so much to know how one decision ruined this girl's life and snuffed it out way too quickly. I can't even begin to imagine the pain she is going through right now trying to explain to her grandson that his mother is gone forever. Substance abuse is one of the most difficult mental health problems to overcome, and it requires support from everywhere you can get it - friends, family, strangers, and especially from within yourself. The recovery process is long and arduous, and sometimes it feels like for every step forward you're taking two steps back, but to anyone currently in rehab or trying to quit drugs I want you know that you are not alone, you were never alone, and that there will always be people by your side and rooting for you throughout it all. We will never give up on you, so please don't give up on yourself.
This song has a lot more meaning than just addicted to drugs and how hard it is. Yes that’s hard. But it also shows that in the real world, people are also addicted to sinning. I mean seriously think about it. Plus this also shows how people who work in night clubs and strip clubs are basically signing up to be abused. Those people still have boundaries and people go over those boundaries.

I turned 17 on the 4th of November. That being said I had met people that have had substance abuse problems. One being my father. Looking back I am thankful for my family, friends and god, for helping me avoid it, and giving me the ability to learn from other peoples mistakes. After the video with coach giving his 2 cents about addiction something inside me almost broke. I'm just sitting here trying to get drunk while watching this. Alcohol addiction is a thing I've been struggeling with as a side effect of my very deep depression. When I first saw the addict music video I saw it before I knew anything about Vivzie or any of her projects. I had never seen any of her animations and my brother just put this on randomly because it showed up in his suggestions. I instantly kinda felt a kinship with Angel Dust, While my addiction has never gone over to anything as recklessly dangerous as drugs, alcohol has always been my poison. It this weird thing where I drink while in social situations to become less anxious and paranoid. And then I just started drinking while alone because I liked the buss because it makes me forget everything else. Sadly I started to drink more since I moved away from home in june. I live alone and my family cant always be around to talk to me and my only two friends work all the time and when they arent working they are either drinking or passed out drunk, and even when they are sober they dont wanna talk to me. I instantly felt this kinship with Angel when I saw this music video for the first time, and then I just started watching Vivzie's stuff, which triggered a kinda hyperfixation in me. I think the term is parasocial relationships, and I know that is usually when you connect with a internet personality but for some reason I get that with fictional characters. I think its because most people in the real world wont give me the time of day. I constantly get talked over or interrupted, even by my own family. The addict music video always makes me reflect on my state of being and why I do this to myself. And the funny thing is Angel sums it up perfectly with his line of "There's another rush of poison flowing into my veins, giving me a dose of pleasure that resides by the pain" its just the easiest way to numb pain when you feel truelly alone. People cant be around me all around the clock and at some point I have to have alone with my own thoughts and feelings. And like the coward I am instead of facing it I drown it out with the easiest way I can. Anyway I'm sorry drunk rambeling. Your reactions to Vivzie's videos always bring a smile to my face because I get to go on and ramble about stupid stuff that I observe in the videos. Coach- I feel you buddy. As you can see in the newer videos I stopped drinking beer. It was starting to effect myself and people around me. I also suffer with depression and drinking sometimes helped but most of the time it made it worse. Drinking doesn't make the feelings go away, it only places it on pause. Standing up for yourself is much harder then standing up for someone else. You are not a coward, you are just hurt and you need time to heal properly. I would advise seeing someone that can help you, and are many groups out there that know what you are going through. You are not alone, I am there with you and we can get through this. -Coach
In Canon, Cheri Bomb was a Aussie in life although they have never portrayed her with a aussie accent. Most therories is she was a Merc or Anarchist.
Sometimes our accents aren't really as strong as the typical aussie accent, Sometimes our accents are influenced by American pop culture because there so much of it everywhere

Glade you two liked the two music videos and Valentino is a former human he was a Pimp in the 70's to 80's, his boyfriend is the TV Demon Vox who is also a former human he used to be a game show host during the 50's to 60's but died on stage hence him being a TV Demon and their best friend the little teenage demon with the smart phone Velvet used the be human as well but died cause unknown however she is the most modern Demon out of the whole cast so far as usual Loved watching you two react great job.

I'm super late but awesome reaction!! I love the "Addict" mv alot I listen to and/or think about it almost every day! Angel is my favorite character 💖 I love him so much and feel so bad for him. I really truly hope life in hell gets better for him! And "Oh Millie" is such a wholesome and cute video, I love Moxxie and Millie and their relationship!! ❤ Also have y'all seen the "Murder Drones" pilot? I think it's really interesting and has cool animation. One of the Murder Drones (his name is N) is voiced by Michael Kovach who voices Angel Dust in this mv and the plot. There's also Elsie Lovelock who is Charlie's singing voice from the pilot as well and she plays "Uzi" the main character. I think y'all should watch it if you haven't already, it'd make for a cool reaction video!

The song Addict is a great song, it shows so much of the characters and shows they are in fact in Hell. Neither of them are enjoying things as much as they claim. I also think they portrayed Valentino's abuse of Angel well, and this is coming from someone with personal experience in that.

Not because I have physical addictions, not saying I don't, but because you said look twords the first video... Alls I've wanted in life is love and these days after years I'm starting to fuel it with negatives like drinking. It hurts less but it hurts so much when people mention it..

May I suggest another interpretation of the song Addict and partake some personal experience here?
After recovering from depression due to acute alcohol-induced pancratitis at age 25 (Now 28 and 1 day :p) I just want to clarify that I'm NOT promoting drugs and bad habit and that what I will present you is completly subjective.
I will try also try my best to explain myself because writting media can create a lot of misunstanding and if someone have question, don't hesitate :)

Means to me that he is accepting himself flaws included and want to start anew.

This one one is a little tricky to describe so I'll go with a personnal experience but again I think it is also path toward the acceptance for Angel Dust:
One thing that I learned while recovering was letting the "real" me out. For a long time, I had drowned myself both consciously and incouscously with alcool or toughts, alfraid of standing my ground, having an opinion or having some goal on my own.
After time and help now I can say "I don't give damn, I've let my emotion (myself) go ..." :D

This is to me a perfect exemple of a comfort zone gone or being bad. This is also where he could talk about drugs and other addiction:
1. When you know that a situation is wrong, that something you do is bad for you whether it be drug or simply a little inside voice preventing you stand for yourself
2. You will continue to use those behavior
3. Because this is what we've learned and helped us at some point in our lives.
4. This is what we know.
5. Our comfort zone
6. But hey, it's ok to want to get out and help yourself.
7. Help can be found outside, find your hotel.
