Also my personal theory: Black eye: Very likely, it’s symbolic for the symptoms of addiction sufferers whom feel good, they party and they have fun until they don’t and realize what life they have made for themselves (even worse life than the one they were trying to escape) . And they cry until they can’t handle it and they’re eyes go red, and they do crazy things like wrecking their own faces and pulling at their own hair and skin. But they pretend they’re okay when in reality they’re only happy when they’re high. Half his life is anguish, the other is partying. He’d rather die partying then let his pain consume him so he doesn’t act like it but he’s in pain and confused about what he wants for himself. Common reasons for this: Abuse of position within companies that are harmful to them specifically, Abuse trauma, unfamiliarity with their own strong feelings especially love, past trauma from people who have a large part of the person’s life in their control, familial issues, depression/depressive disorder.The white hair: Drugs make the effects of aging speed up, by absorbing all the nutrients needed instead of using them to maintain a healthy body and mind, including melanin, an important component in the color of skin and hair. Way more common in the 80s/early 90s people were partying hard because they wanted to avoid their feelings and mental illnesses since no one believed their feelings were valid even if they had trauma- there was no cure medically (proper good medication) they would hide that pain. Many people overdosed on cocaine, morphine, and crack because it made them feel good temporarily and essentially had the effects of mental health medication but to an extreme and addictive level that had long-term damage. When you're depressed and don't have the tools to deal with it, talking to someone who's trained to help & teach people to do it themselves is the best thing. Saying "you can't get help" is in my opinion a stupidly dangerous thing to say, you're potentially keeping people from accessing the tools they need to _survive_.
