Even in the original release, Monika was revealed to be a psycho too. Also, I won't say this is a remake but rather a remaster + DLC which fleshed out the characters' backstory even more.
The guy was just addicted to killing, like people who do drugs, he felt like he can't live without it. Even if he knew it was wrong... Hence why he wanted to prevent Aya to become addicted to killing as well...
I think that salesman demon Ogre is the true last boss, bigger bad greater scope villain. Curse of the drevis family. Guess who had powers of giving spirits the curse powers use to torture others in the first place to see humans conflicts for fun.......
Man, if Maria only turns Aya into a doll and doesn't do any more experiments in the first bad ending, it's honestly the best ending as far as the other people in the world are concerned. Lol.
I personally think that the 1st bad ending is better, as Maria just turns Aya into a doll and might not do any other experiments, seeing how caring she was in her backstory to that one man, she may not continue Alfreds experiments. As for the ending where she turns into a doll, Alfred will still torture other people, causing suffering, towards himself and others.
She completed Alfred's goal, so why should she experiment further? She doesn't have the urge to kill, (it at least wasn't mentioned) so it would probably be over after her turning Aya into a dead doll.
I think Marie may have killed herself after turning Aya into a doll. She didn't want to be only and maybe death may have been a better (only) option for her to take.

I wish we could have a sequel with Dio/Robin, going through his life and how hard it would be to survive with how disfigured he is now. And maybe even a timeline where he can stop Aya killing people, as I honestly think they may have a strong enough bond, at least so that Aya won't kill people without anesthesia.

Call me an optimist in this situation, but I don't think Maria would have continued Alfred's work. Yes, she's desensitized to it, numb and obedient, but...one of the first things we see her do when she's alone is heal that man. It's very purposeful, and I'd like to think that, without the Drevis Family influence, she'd back out of it, become good again. Like a few comments I've seen, however, I don't think that Maria would survive it indefinitely: I imagine she'd either end her life and burn the mansion down herself, or spend what time she has left trying to right the wrongs. Idk, though.
That's some grade a subversion where it turns out that bad ending 2 is actually the best ending, or at least you realize that once you play the blood dlc. Sure Aya dies and Alfred is left to carry on his work. But he knows his work is evil, so he will at least let "the curse" die with him.

In the True End in particular, he recruits Alfred in helping him continue to spread strife among humans. Ogre Onigawara is bald and the demon that serves as the Greater-Scope Villain. He gave Monika the power to curse the mansion, making him indirectly responsible for the events of the game. Nevertheless he stays in the sidelines, and the full extent of his involvement is unknown. In the If ending, he explains to Robin that he observed/caused the events of the game because he enjoys "observing deranged humans." He never receives any sort of comeuppance for all the suffering he inflicted. In fact, no matter which ending you get, he ensures that the Doctor's work will continue. I don't trust him since the first time I see.

Who knew Bad Endings would be the good Ending the more you look into the story and learn the truth.
