Hey guys, welcome back to another lesson. Today I am going to show you how to play a slow blues on the acoustic guitar.
You will learn how to play a Blues in E using the fingerpicking technique, melody, and blues chords that are so characteristic of this music style.
The Blues is a simple style full of emotions, expression, hearth, and soul. African Americans created it in the early 20th century and quickly became one of the most important influences of popular music.
I am not a blues player, but I love this music so I hope I can inspire you to play more of this beautiful style.
Enjoy this lesson.

🎸FAQs:
Are you a full-time RUclipsr?
Yes, I am on RUclips as Marco Cirillo, and I promote my videos on my website BlitzGuitar.com. All the courses I post online are available on my Patreon page bit.ly/2rMAPYG
How long have you been playing guitar for?
I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old, so it has been more than 20 years. I have always loved fingerpicking guitar, so this is why all my tutorials focus on this topic.
Why are you on Patreon?
Patreon is great! It allows creators to make money doing what they love. On Patreon, I can share my guitar lessons with my Patrons and get paid for it. As a creator, I feel like Patreon really made a massive difference in the way I share my content :)
Do you do concerts?
I used to do a lot of gigs in the past. London is a great place to play music almost every day. When my RUclips channel started to grow, I decided to go all in and try to help as many people as possible learning guitar. This goal takes all the time I have available, so I am not doing any gig or concert atm.

i litterally took 5 hours to learn this beautiful chords. Thank you coach!!
Well done!
One of very few guys on YT who focusses on melody and substance rather than flash and style. Even when he plays something simple it still nice.
You, my friend, are an excellent instructor!!! Thanks so much for your time, talent, and incredible teaching skills!!!
I played this for my talent show...I enjoyed playing it so much.💯💯
Thank you Marco for another excellent finger style blues lesson. Only just recently got into finger style so your videos are a great help
I wish I could like more than once. Great blues, great lesson, and a heartwarming smile. Big thanks to you kind sir, definitely gained a new fan!
You’re a great player Marco. Your lesson is just what I needed to finish my blues phrases.
I appreciate you sharing.
Enjoy! 🎸
nicee
Nice Work Marco! You could never offer too much in the Blues genre, or variations thereof, for me! Love the Blues! Thank You!
Thanks ! Simple and sweet. Sounds good
Sax player just now learning guitar. This helped so much...seems natural to me with your help...Thanks!!
Literally my favorite fingerstle teacher. His shit is so fun to play
I agree, I enjoy his lessons. They are easy enough for an old drummer to follow and not fancy show off junk.
We need more blues!
thats some summertime, playn on the porch blues, when you should be doing chores or something but you just dont care
The quality on this video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😎🎼
Excellent blues tutorial, excellent presentation. Subscribed.
Man this is going to be fun learning, you've already taught me a few nice pieces & I'm looking forward to learning this. Thank you for giving accessible good sounding/fun tunes to us beginners. Wonderful teacher !
So this is what they call the “12 Bar Blues”......still learning😀. Wonderful Lesson!! Thanks so much!!!
Exactly. He's demonstrating absolutely straight 12-bar blues. It's called 12-bar because in 4/4 time it takes 12 measures to complete the cycle. (I play piano and sax. I'm finally learning the guitar.)
..is...simple, huh?..
@@PhillipLandmeier ..good luck with that..🎼🎹🎷🎸
@@joycesanders4898 Thanks. I'll need it. ;-)
@@joycesanders4898 Everything is relative. Lol.
For example, when I first started, I tried Justin's play-along lesson on John Denver's hit Country Roads. It was impossible. I "knew" the chords but it took me 3 or 4 seconds to get my fingers in the right spots for each chord. Hopeless.
Three months later, I came upon the video again and played along with it straight-off.
I practice a minimum of 15 minutes a day or longer, every single day without fail.
Nice blues guitar lesson. Thanks for sharing.
You really do teach and record in a way that works beautifully. I've been playing for years but it's still worth it for me to be on your Patreon. I like that you don't clown around. Quite a few of the other guitar guys do, and for some that works, but it can wear thin after a while. With you it's just guitar, and it's great.
You have great melodies and you are a great teacher as well. Thank you.
your teaching is so clear! thank you
WOW MARCO MORE BLUES PLEASEE !!!!
Very cool, chill chords!!! Just relaxingly amazing to play! Thanks heaps Marco!!! Cheers!
You are not only the best composer, but also the best performer (!) in the greater internet guitar creativity!
Great video, helped me break through a rut I was stuck in!
Grew up to playing something similar, still learned a few licks from this
Sounds like key to the highway!

Hi coach, I watch every single videos and try to learn every lessons 💕
As your student, can you please create one soft music I mean softer with emotions I want to dedicate someone😭💕🎶 I really love to see that coming
It would help me a lot to see a guitar with fret marks, just a small thing but makes it easier for me to concentrate on where your hand is
You are so good at what you do. Keep going! You truly explain perfectly
Great vid! It makes things easier for us when the frets are marked.
Lovely blues, excellent teaching, Marco. Well done you!!

Awesome blues picking tricks
That was very useful in many ways 😊
Reminds me of some Pink Anderson I was introduced to 33 years ago!
Thank. You. For posting this - I’ve been looking for something just like Pink Anderson. Just read your comment today and upon listening to Pink Anderson for the first time - I feel like I’ve struck gold
Somehow I feel blues very relaxing to play..😁👍🏻 and can jam by your own...
grandissimo Marco!
Good teacher...easy to learn blues...great
Thank you,Great camera angles and simple chords,
Nice instructions.
Never hAve i ever seen a B7 chord mentioned, its one of my favorite for years . Play the d7 , a7 , then e and then e7 ,. Drop the little finger back and forth to in e7 mode and roll into B7 ..., works .... thanks.,,👍
what do you mean you have never seen B7? Normal 12 bar blues is using the 1-4-5 chords. Not the 7 chord which would be the D
alonoid
Re-reAd my comment., i said i never seen it mentioned, b7 .,, it is a favorite chord of mine ., watch marty music 12 bar blues ... on u tube ... im still efforting , so my descriptions of 7ths r probably inaccurate... its only playing guitar , trying to improve, ????
@@rzz9594 Sorry but maybe it's a communication problem, I don't understand what you are saying at all since it's not really a sentence you are forming. What do you mean when you say you've never seen a B7 chord mentioned?
Vert good lesson thank’s
Thanks that was brilliant .
I watch lots of channels but I really like this. Nice work, subbed. Btw, what pickup are u using?
You are super cool Marco!
Sir, you are one of my favorite guitarist...

This was very useful. Thanks for posting!
thanks very much i learned this
Tank you so much ❤️🙏🏻
So beautiful. Thank you so much!
Just came across this and was just wondering how you would give this a thumbs down? Like what was the thought process?
Dyslexia
Simple things are not always easy
its a feel. blues is a feel - its soul music!
True
Very helpful, thankyou.
Hey there! 👋 a super transformational epiphany keystone lesson. Will play it over and over until I can play it in the dark. Do you have a suggestion for a song to segue into at the end which I think would be fun?? There are a million I know but right off thinking maybe “Cars Hiss By My Window” by the Doors. Or maybe “Roadhouse Blues” ..: but maybe you have a more magical transition piece in mind like maybe “Mojo Hand”
Thank you for tutorial 👏👏👍👍
I like your teaching technique. You don't waste time and show clearly how to do everything.
75% playback speed helped me a lot. Thanks for the lesson
Thanks a lot, that's great !
Perfect! Thanks 😊👌
Я научился! спасибо бро!
Guys I've uploaded this video again and fixed the mistake on the chords :)
ty
Thank you
This was INCREDIBLE, more blues PLEASE !!
And reggage once for a change if you could, thank you sooo muuch for doing this !! We HIGHLY appreciate it !
Marco can you PLEASE tell me the chords they are playing in this song PLEASE ?
Ive been trying for weeks.
ruclips.net/video/5COYNile7og/видео.html&start_radio=1
It seems that they are playing the F#m chord & G#m Chords, are they ?
BUT THE PROBLEM IS, it doesnt sound like that on my guitar !! Any explanations how i can make it sound like that rhythm ??? Thank you so much
@@JKRowl
He has his guitar tuned down a whole tone (2 frets so his 'E' string is sounding like 'D'.) so his 'A' sounds like your 'G', To make matters worse, his tuning is a bit off so the sound won't sound exactly right if your guitar is well tuned.
To play the piece and get roughly the same pitch on a regularly tuned guitar: Am - Dm - C - G. Good luck.
This is beautiful
Really good. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic! Thank you!
