Please note that it's not a permanent solution. If you want to make it last longer you can try to spray some liquid grease (just a little bit) inside the potentiometer after the cleaning process. It works flawlessly on my pedal. It still coming back but not in a short period. If you want to make the throttle pedal aligned to the brake pedal (same height), you can try this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/4SpSiE9cjGk/видео.html The idea is to swap the clutch's spacer to throttle's. This is the game-changer for me! and I hope for you too!
Found the non-H-shifter user! The reason the throttle pedal is deeper in the first place is to accomodate heel-toe downshifting. When the brake is pushed, it is then flush with the throttle pedal and it can be blipped more easily. Doing this modification only makes it harder to perform this technique properly.

For a moment I thought that my throttle would need a major repair, or I would need to buy new G29 replacement. Also a good tip is to lubricate the gears of each pedal to fix this, in the past I've solved a similar problem but with a PC mouse that only needed lubrication. Anyway, you fixed my problem so thank you very much, you rock!

I‘m going to try this as soon as I have the contact cleaner. I am planning to replace my Logitech with a Fanatec DD Pro in near future anyway so I’m not going to look for some proper long-term clean potentiometers but this flickering has gone to such an extent that it can shoot up to 50% brake power and that‘s just unacceptable (I am able to race 90-95 AI on F1 but I had to turn it down to 85 to still be able to compete, ridiculous…). @@spuki9153 Yup, WD40 did the trick. First I tried a contact cleaner, it was ok for a day but the issue came back. Then I tried WD40 and it worked like a charm.
@@afiatoot1 oh thank u for the fast respond, i just noticed the same problem with my gas pedal, so im just searching on youtube how to fix it, if u dont mind me asking since theres a lot of Wd40 items, did u use their contact cleaner or?
I found i wasnt getting full throttle with my logitech pedals (probs 97/98%) unless i pressed down ridiculously hard. I did the cleaning method with compressed air as there was a huge amount of dust etc under the cover. Also afterwards a spray of contact cleaner. Now works perfectly.
@@RindiTechEntertainment it was caused by the dust getting inside the potentiometer. I have actually left the cover off my pedals now, as i quite like minimalist look and you see the mechanisms working. And also much easier to work on now in future. For the amount of dust and dirt inside, the cover doesn't do a great job anyway.
@@chriscuthbertson4931 oh I see. Just be careful with the small fragile plate inside the potentiometer then, it bend easily and and will effect to the sensor reader.
Well i see the G29 potentiometer has exactly the same problem as G27. I used once spray cleaner for electronics, but it didn't last for long. So, when i see this problem i untie the pedal and the potentiometer and clean the potentiometer board with swabs dipped into alcohol. Sometimes the dirt on potentiometer board is phenomenal. The swabs from white turned to black. With this way the solution is more permanent but it needs also more tools and time.
I recently cleaned mine and there are all sorts of issues. The acceleration pedal does not work and is now assigned to the break pedal and the breaks are assigned to the clutch pedal and are always being applied, even when I am not pressing them.
really nice video! i have to clean my accelerating pedal. i would never open this without a video and yours is amazing. now...the difference between contact cleaner and compressed air... the can of compressed air would just blow the dust, as opposed to the contact cleaner? so i dont have to worry about the ''liquid'' the contact sprays into the electronical things?
The contact cleaner is specific for electronic parts as I shown on the video so it's safe and it dried pretty quick. Just make sure it all dried before you connect it to the PC. Some people said that WD40 also will do the work but I never tried it myself.
This will work for a while but eventually the problem will return. I have dismantled my G29 potentiometers several times and cleaned the contact points individually with circuit board cleaner and cotton buds. Eventually the contact surfaces of the potentiometer wear down. Logitech do not supply spare parts for any of their G series pedals, which is absolutely ridiculous. A G29 or G923 wheel, 3 pedals and H-pattern shifter is about $500 AUD (about 380 USD). That's the price of a washing machine so imagine if a washing machine manufacturer did not provide a parts service, there'd be an uproar from consumers.. Over the next few weeks I will be trialing some 3rd party potentiometers from 3DRAP in Italy and also some from the US so will post something up on my channel if I find a solution. I use a PS4 Pro but this potentiometer problem also applies to PC users.
Thanks for the input mate! Yeah Logitech seems not interest in making the spare parts for this but at this price range I can't say any other brand that gives this much. Thrustmaster is better but you need to add at least $100 for wheel and pedal (no shifter). I am interesting on the 3DRAP, please let us know if you have the update on that 👍
Testing pedal input didn't need the wheelbase to work, usb connection is enough. Also if we connect the power adapter it will trigger the wheelbase to calibrate (turn right and left aggressively) which is a bit dangerous at that state.
Every single pedal went off randomly while playing, always braked even up to 25% when pressing the clutch in. With cheap electronic contact cleaner everything works fine now surprisingly
I already tried to take mine apart but didn't know which screws were for the peddles, watching you take the top off with the peddles still connected to the other base bit made me feel like such an idiot lol
Yup! They are on the same surface so it's easy to pick the wrong screw. On the video, I marked it all with the blue circles, other than that they are for pedals.
@@RindiTechEntertainment Just now try to take out the paddle plate.. Cant because it loose.. So just open back of the paddle and spray the cleaner from outside.. Hope it work.. Ty sir.. 👏👍
If you dont have electrical spray you can work around it. I just poured tiny bit of metho over them since it evaporates almost instantly. Afterwards I sprayed some degreaser on them and didn't bother with letting it dry. better to leave some kind of protective agent over it all I figure, never heard of degreaser being conductive yet. seems to be working so far. I didn't both with all the usb stuff either. just unplugged it from the wheel.
i have an issue with the brake flickering at low amounts or it braking a tiny bit on its own aswell as the throttle does it a tiny bit too but not really at all
Thank you very much I'll go back and try to fix it. I have one more question, my logitech shift lever some gears go off, i mean (when i play Assetto Corsa some gears go in and it bounces to N but the gear stick is in that gear position) is there a way to check and repair? yes
It's hard to do. The gap and the potentiometer' hole is in the slightly different locations. You may reach it with flexible spray but you still can't see it.
Everything seemed to be going well. When I sprayed with contact cleaner I tested to see if the flickering throttle issue had been fixed and indeed it was. When I reassembled it though my logitech g29 was no longer working. It was dead despite the fact it was connected as it should be ...
Sorry to hear that, I'm not sure what had happened there but make sure it dried up before you reassamble the pedal and carefull with the cables, they are easy to clipped or bend. You can reopen and check if there's cable clipped or detached.
Thanks mate, i got same problem with my throtle. On first try clean it, the pedal still flickering (not as much as before i clean it) so i clean it again and there no flickering. Hopefully the pedal not flickering again
@@mastermason4766 if there is no flickering and normal on sensor then it's not the potentiometer's thing. you need to open the cover of the spring. but I think the wd-40 is worth buying since it cheap and also you can use it to clean every part cause it electronic friendly
@@mastermason4766 I'd recommend using WD-40 Silicone spray though. Not as nasty as it's oily brother. You should still check visually if something is in the spring.
@@shaned2098 I don't think so because I found that they also have the "electrical cleaner" version. So you just have to choose the right type/version of WD-40 (electrical cleaner).
Never tried it but I have seen someone on youtube keep the cover off and it seems okay. Just be careful on the wires and the potentiometer, they are easily to break
Contact cleaner will solve your problem momentarily, but you will need to coat the inside of the potentiometer with a thin layer di-electric grease to protect the contact after you've cleaned it. I was doing this for years and the problem got worse, with me needing to clean it more and more often, until I realised that you can use di-electric grease to protect the contact inside the potentiometer after cleaning it.
@@joshlow132 how long will the solution last i am about to purchase g923 i didnt realise it could be fixed and tried using 3d rap solution didnt work and binne pedals gave wheel to friend who has g25 pedals i might buy fanatec but compatability seems to be an issue with ps4 thanks
is it arcing that causes the problem or is it dust if you seal the pot with duck tape will it stop the pot getting dirty dont want to fork out for fanatec if pos but i am using the wheel quite a lot thanks
Not to be a party pooper but WD40 is not good for electronics, is too much oil. If anyone is reading this, try to get some contact cleaner, nothing else...
Does clutch brake pedal all there will look leveled from side or both clutch and brake will look level ? and accelerator is slighty go forward i mean un level ?
Yup! that's the default levels from the factory. The throttle pedal is a bit forward. If you want all three pedals to align you can buy a spacer for throttle.
When it dried you can connect the USB to the PC without power. The pedal input will keep shown on the G-Hub. Then you can test it before re-assemble. you may check the video one more time, I've shown it there.
This fix seems extremely temporary. As I'm reading more my research is backing this up. People are going like 2 months or so and having the same problem. I've had the flickering issue with my gas pedal before. I just adjusted the dead zone in my games to fix it. Problem is I've now gotten GT Sport and that isn't an option. I got a little annoyed at having to push so hard so I did a few pretty hard slams on the gas in the menu screen. I still have to press down with a little force, but I naturally do. The problem is pretty much gone. So maybe I just had a minor case of this compared to others but I don't really think you need to take apart the pedals. Seems like quite the waste of time.
i heard that contact cleaner its chemical ingredients desolve the lubricant on the potentiometers so i dont know if just compressed air is safer/ as good
Actually I just found out that adding lubricant after cleaning the potentiometer will make it work last longer but since the main objective is to fix the flickering the CC alone is good even though it's not the permanent solution.
You can try to clean it again for sure. But if it's still no good you may need to deep clean by removing all the part like on the other video (not in my channel). Hope you find the solution.
Holy Moly macaronny, Thank you!! I thought i would have to buy new ones or at least a new spring and that would have cost a lot of mony and time. But now its working and i didnt even used contact spray (because i havent got it yet lol), just a vacuum cleaner and my own breath(: 🤩
Please note that it's not a permanent solution. If you want to make it last longer you can try to spray some liquid grease (just a little bit) inside the potentiometer after the cleaning process. It works flawlessly on my pedal. It still coming back but not in a short period.

I fixed it and sold the G29 and go the G923. Very happy. Trueforce is awesome.
@@afiatoot1 oh thank u for the fast respond, i just noticed the same problem with my gas pedal, so im just searching on youtube how to fix it, if u dont mind me asking since theres a lot of Wd40 items, did u use their contact cleaner or?
You are my hero!! Great vid👍
Thanks bro! Enjoy!
pas liat contact cleaner nya kaya inget merk yg di tokopedia, eh ternyata org indo jg. sukses yaa, terimakasih video informatifnya
hhaha.. makasih mas, semoga membantu videonya :D
I'm definitely going to try this because my accelerator pedal had this problem and always messed up my drift. Thanks for the info! :)
No problem, Good luck! 👍
Your video saved my G29. Thanks a lot, man!
Great! Happy to hear that!
Thanks for this! I was going crazy hahaha. Contact cleaner was not available here so I used a CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner. It worked pretty well. Cheers!
Solved my flickering throttle, cant tank you enough. guess is a must have for guys with logitechg29. thanks mate
Amazing video! Thanks, it really worked for me. You can use contact cleaner, then use compressed air just to be sure
Yup! Thanks for the extra tip!
Thanks much I didn't think my brakes would ever work again
Happy to hear that! Enjoy your game!
Man, it worked perfectly well! Did exactly what you suggested and everything went perfect!!! Thank you so much!!!
Happy to hear that! Enjoy your game!
Yes! Thank you! My brake pedal suddenly had the same problem while playing GT7 and now its fixed 👌
I'm not sure what's the problem but if you don't want to open the potentiometer then you can just apply the dead zone.
Thank you mate.I had the same problem for quite some months and now it’s fixed.
Happy to hear that! Enjoy your game 👍🏻
Bro is just the best guy! Thanks so much! Earned a new follow
Thanks for the sub!
❤ you absolute legend. Fixed my G923 pedals first attempt. Thanks bro 👍
Happy to hear that! Enjoy your game! 👍🏻
This fix worked on my G920. THANK YOU!!
Happy to hear that! Enjoy your game!
Thanks for sharing mate! Yup! At some point, I believe most of us will need to do that deep cleaning.
My pedels fully function again now, thank you very much!!
Glad to hear that. Enjoy!
Bought the spray, followed your very clear instructions and boom, it now works fine again. Thank you 🙂
Happy to hear that! 😀. Enjoy your game 👍🏻
I recently cleaned mine and there are all sorts of issues. The acceleration pedal does not work and is now assigned to the break pedal and the breaks are assigned to the clutch pedal and are always being applied, even when I am not pressing them.
My pots are not dirty yet but it is good info for when my hairy ass cat eventually causes my g29 pedals to stick. ty for the tutorial good sir. =)
Legend!! My pedals feel brand new again thanks a bunch 😁
Happy to hear that. Enjoy!
really nice video! i have to clean my accelerating pedal. i would never open this without a video and yours is amazing.
now...the difference between contact cleaner and compressed air...
the can of compressed air would just blow the dust, as opposed to the contact cleaner? so i dont have to worry about the ''liquid'' the contact sprays into the electronical things?
I am interesting on the 3DRAP, please let us know if you have the update on that 👍
@@RindiTechEntertainment Yep, will do, thanks for the feedback
Perfect video , easy to follow and fixed my problem right away .. appreciated my friend 👍
what kind of screwdrivers i need to buy ?
thank you so much!! this tutorial was more than useful in fixing my problem with pedals!
Yup! Enjoy your game!
Why shouldn't you connect the power adapter when you try it for the first time?
Testing pedal input didn't need the wheelbase to work, usb connection is enough. Also if we connect the power adapter it will trigger the wheelbase to calibrate (turn right and left aggressively) which is a bit dangerous at that state.
ok, thx
Every single pedal went off randomly while playing, always braked even up to 25% when pressing the clutch in. With cheap electronic contact cleaner everything works fine now surprisingly
Yup! It is really cheap solution for that kind of problem. 👍
Nice tutorial... Ty man... Will try this seems my paddle had flickering... Your video very helpful... 👍
Thank you, Good luck! 👍
@@RindiTechEntertainment Just now try to take out the paddle plate.. Cant because it loose.. So just open back of the paddle and spray the cleaner from outside.. Hope it work.. Ty sir.. 👏👍
@@AimPhq yup! that will do 👍. You are welcome!
Thanks for your wisdom. I've been having this problem, and now i know why. Cheers
No worries! Hope this solves your problem.
Gonna try this tomorrow as I've noticed a flickering brake slowing me down on the straights
After how much time should the power be given?
maybe about 3-5 minutes, just to make sure it dries enough.
Thanks bro for the tips! Hope it also help the other with the same problem 👍
Thanks for posting. I fixed my flickering throttle and sticky brake, just like you said it would. :-)
Bro, you just saved my sim racing career XD
Seriously, though. Thank you
Glad to hear that. Enjoy your game!
i have an issue with the brake flickering at low amounts or it braking a tiny bit on its own
aswell as the throttle does it a tiny bit too but not really at all
Yes you can try this method 👍🏻
Thank you very much I'll go back and try to fix it. I have one more question, my logitech shift lever some gears go off, i mean (when i play Assetto Corsa some gears go in and it bounces to N but the gear stick is in that gear position) is there a way to check and repair? yes
Good luck! and sorry I don't have the answer to your shifter problem. Hope you'll find the solution soon.
@@RindiTechEntertainment nevermind Thank you very much
Just got mine fixed! Thanks for the amazing video!
Enjoy! 👍🏻
You know the gap in the pedals can you spray it down there instead of taking everything apart or would it not work?
@RindiTechEntertainment I reopened the cable was destroyed in 2 different areas. It was stuck under the bolts probably. I have to buy a new cable now
na most csinálom én is! majd megírom mi lett az eredmény! am nekem a gáz szórakozik! bizakodom! :D
Good luck mate!
Tökéletesen működött a tipp! Hibátlanul működik a g29! :)
didnt work for me the was alot of dust in the gear under the pedal would that be the problem i might just give it a full clean
hope it works for you!
Great video man. I was wondering that I brake wire connection to the wheel.
The wires also need extra attention though, when you open and close the cover make sure the are not block the screw's line
Thanks mate, i got same problem with my throtle. On first try clean it, the pedal still flickering (not as much as before i clean it) so i clean it again and there no flickering. Hopefully the pedal not flickering again
Happy to hear that! Just make sure you keep clean the environment around the pedals since the potentiometers look like a magnet to the dust. hehe
Is WD40 specialist contact cleaner suitable for this???
I never tried it but some people in the comment says it also do the work
Can I use anything but contact cleaner?
My clutch and accelerator are clipping on something and I can FEEL and hear the spring, is this a problem?
if you believe there is something inside better you check it. if there is nothing then you can clean it
@@RindiTechEntertainment Sometimes I can feel it clipping on something and hear the springs, I got it 2 months ago. Is this something WD-40 can fix?
@@mastermason4766 if there is no flickering and normal on sensor then it's not the potentiometer's thing. you need to open the cover of the spring. but I think the wd-40 is worth buying since it cheap and also you can use it to clean every part cause it electronic friendly
@@mastermason4766 I'd recommend using WD-40 Silicone spray though. Not as nasty as it's oily brother. You should still check visually if something is in the spring.
i have that too, i doubt its a problem, and i know that you cant do anything about it, dont take it apart for that reason alone
what size allen wrench? literally cannot find the size to get the pedals off
about 2.0 mm I believe
After cleaning it, I highly recommend using an electronics lubricant to grease it.
I agree! It will make it last longer I believe 👍
Will contact cleaner and standard WD-40 have the same effect
I haven't tried WD-40 but some people say those are the same.
@@RindiTechEntertainment Do you think that wd40 will damage the circuit board
@@shaned2098 I don't think so because I found that they also have the "electrical cleaner" version. So you just have to choose the right type/version of WD-40 (electrical cleaner).
There is a dedicated WD 40 contact cleaner. The WD-40 oil spray is NOT designed for electronics because it leaves residues.
Does this void the
warranty?
Not sure about that but what we do is only cleaning the parts, no changes in any parts or positions
ok thanks for replying
How often do you need to clean pedals after first time cleaning?
It depend on the environment and usage, in my experience it's about 3 months or so.
Hey man. Could I keep the cover off my pedals? The pedal plate is way to big to fit in my racing sim
Never tried it but I have seen someone on youtube keep the cover off and it seems okay. Just be careful on the wires and the potentiometer, they are easily to break
Quick question will this work for fixing the gas pedal and clutch pedal?
In my experience, Yes. They are the same basically.
Contact cleaner will solve your problem momentarily, but you will need to coat the inside of the potentiometer with a thin layer di-electric grease to protect the contact after you've cleaned it. I was doing this for years and the problem got worse, with me needing to clean it more and more often, until I realised that you can use di-electric grease to protect the contact inside the potentiometer after cleaning it.
do you have to take the pot apart to apply
@@vickitreloar7797 not absolutely necessary but it can be more thorough to do so
@@joshlow132 how long will the solution last i am about to purchase g923 i didnt realise it could be fixed and tried using 3d rap solution didnt work and binne pedals gave wheel to friend who has g25 pedals i might buy fanatec but compatability seems to be an issue with ps4 thanks
is it arcing that causes the problem or is it dust if you seal the pot with duck tape will it stop the pot getting dirty dont want to fork out for fanatec if pos but i am using the wheel quite a lot thanks
@@vickitreloar7797 whether or not it’s dust the main issue is that the contact is not being made properly
Thank you man I used WD-40 and it really helped.
Nice! Enjoy your game bro! 👍
Hey thanks for the vid but what thing where u using to test like if it worked or not
When it dried you can connect the USB to the PC without power.
Yup! If you still can use the dead zone trick that's better than taking apart the pedals. 👍
Can I have the link to the contact cleaner that I could order from Amazon please
just type "wd40 specialist electrical contact cleaner" in the search box, you can see the wd40 product list.
@@RindiTechEntertainment thank you what should I use to see the flickering the thing that you used at the start of the video
@@xh41derx85 use "Logitech g hub" software
@@RindiTechEntertainment I fixed it and it worked perfectly for a few weeks and now it’s happened again btw this is my other account
@@haidercapo3261 Ya that's the real challenge actually, there is no permanent solution for this.. just repeat the process.
i heard that contact cleaner its chemical ingredients desolve the lubricant on the potentiometers so i dont know if just compressed air is safer/ as good
Actually I just found out that adding lubricant after cleaning the potentiometer will make it work last longer but since the main objective is to fix the flickering the CC alone is good even though it's not the permanent solution.
If dust is what causes it, can we just tape shut the potentiometer so no cleaning is needed?
Sometimes it's not about dust, the sensor plate also need to have some grease.
@@RindiTechEntertainment thank you🤘. Having the problem after using g920 for only 9 months now.

Hi, ive cleaned the potentiometer but my pedals are still flickering. Any ideas?
You can try to clean it again for sure. But if it's still no good you may need to deep clean by removing all the part like on the other video (not in my channel). Hope you find the solution.
i knew it. this is actually same problem as drifting analog with joystick so it works too if you use contact cleaner on joystick
Wow.. glad to hear that!
can i use normal wd40 for cleaning the pedal potentiometer
I never try it but some peoples in the comment says it also works with wd40.
Holy Moly macaronny, Thank you!! I thought i would have to buy new ones or at least a new spring and that would have cost a lot of mony and time. But now its working and i didnt even used
