- Ever been told that to clean a pot, you should just shoot some contact cleaner in it? And the problem returned shortly after? DUH!! That's how you ruin a good potentiometer.
The correct way to clean them is easier than you think, and lasts wayyyyy longer compared to any other method.
Join me on a step-by-step guide to PROPERLY cleaning a Logitech pot.

it would be better if logitech made closed pedals instead of leaving the whole shit open so they can farm dust and shit xD
My throttle pedal was flickering at max input between 95%-100%. After following your video, all is fixed. Thank you sir.
This is the most detailed video showing this process, thank you for taking the time.
To put it simply, you're great. You rock, man. My throttle is perfect now. It's funny that after fixing it, I remembered I had one spare potentiometer once I used a third-party load cell installed in the brake pedal.
I'm scared to open the potentionmeter bruh
I opened it and its working good thanks the tutorial
It's pretty easy and quickly done once you have gone through the first try.
Really good video, very well produced. Like many other people I have removed, dismantled and cleaned my G29 potentiometers several times, swapped them around, etc. This is the first time I have seen this CRC Di-Electric grease so I will get some and give it a try. I'm surprised your video hasn't caught people's attention. Thanks for putting it up.
Cheers man. Glad you find it helpful. The di-electric grease helps preserve the pots I feel. Keeps dust off. Makes the pedal travel feel slightly better too.
Thank you man this video is perfect in every way...i really enjoy watching every moment of the video...great editing as well❤🙏
What a brilliant and descriptive video. Will definitely refer back to this when I need it. Thank you.
Thanks!!!
Thanks for putting this together - very helpful
Glad it helped! Happy racing ;)
Perfect video . Excellent explanation
Successful done the pot cleaning thanks to you. Thank you :)
Thx a lot for this video. Very well explained!
Why does the dielectric grease is needed?
I'm having trouble aligning the pedal cog with the pot cog, i put it right and it just jumps like 3 teeth up when I put the spring in, help?
great video, thank you.
If you took the trouble to remove the potentiometer, just replace it with a new one of the same resistance value. Theses things are dirt cheap (like US$1) , there's really no point in trying to disassemble & clean.
what are the specs of the g29 potentiometers?
@@Cesar-os5iv Don't know specifically, but its easy enough to grab a multimeter and measure the resistance between the two outer contacts. It's probably in the 33K to 150k Range, linear taper.
One could almost say it is worth disassembling and cleaning it if you cannot find or provide information on the correct replacement part.
@@jaffmaster2294 It's easy enough to measure the pot's resistance value.
@@jaffmaster2294 I agree, if you don't know the specs or where to get one just take it apart, it seems fairly easy.
After doing this procedure my pedals are working great so far! I only have one small issue, my pedal wont go past 95% but its no big deal since I recalibrated it. I just have a quick question, is there any trick to reassemble the potentiometer fully centered so I get the full range of motion detected? I assembled it as shown in the video paying attention to detail but it seems kinda hard to get it 100% on the right position
Where can i buy a replacement potentiometer?
OK ok ok, can you show it working after the process? you know, just to make sure
I can’t get the white thing that sits below the spring back in
it works! thank you
Thank you so much sir

This right here I tried but really the best solution is to just get the AXC sim brake mod and potentiometers since the pots are sealed on both of them meaning no cleaning is provided. I’m getting both of them this coming Friday so yeah. Everybody that owns the Logitech g29/g920/g923 should get this mod really the price for both is very affordable and you don’t have to clean it since once again the pots are sealed so no dust can’t go in really. Anyways yeah everybody from all over uses it and it’s been reviewed to be VERY GOOD which is why I ordered both recently so just go for it everybody!!!
where can buy?
im having issues with the throttle, could i just swap the Potentiometer with the clutch? would it work the same? i dont mind if my clutch is bad
yes, just did it. cleaned and swapped to put the wear on the clutch pot instead
Great video, I used dielectric grease and plugged it but didn't work, wiped it only to realize i plugged the pot back wrong (black colour red or something)
Flickering absolutely gone now!
With 'wiped it', do you mean you removed the dielectric grease afterwards? It would make sense, as the grease is electrically insulating; therefore, preventing functionality of the potentiometer.
Thanks for the video.. and about potentiometer.. can we replace it with the new one? I mean can we get the same spec potentio in the electric store? Terima kasih..
You could probably use the one from the clutch, or look for someone selling a spare set of pedals. That's what I did.
Anyone know if WD40 silicone lubricant can be used instead of the dielectric grease? Seems to be the same thing?
Don't use silicone, it will dry and cause issues.
Is this why i have been experiencing throttle stutter in Assesto Corsa on my logitech g29?
100%. Any game would be the same. The problem comes from the potentiometer.
@@chrisaaron6042 this pedal is less than a month
@@the_rc_addict7209 maybe make use of the warranty? But my issue started just after 3 months.
G29 pedals not working now.
I watched your video & did my pedas just like you said but pretty sure I've got To much Grease on the all pots because I used my fingers..When I hooked it all back up after cleaning & over greasing. No contact, power, when trying to calibrate pedals.
AXC pot is not very good.
The metal clip keeps falling off when trying to install.
How do you know which pedal was causing the issue? Do you clean al of them?
you check the input of each pedal and if any of them is flickering, it's time for you to clean the pots. Honestly, you should just clean all of them since you made the effort to take it apart. But that's IF you are confident in yourself that you can do it without braking it, if not just let someone else do it or spray the cleaners from the gap of those pots instead while pumping the pedals.
Already done this, I've had it for more than 4 years. and after a week the brake comes back to the same problem.... I was thinking and swaping it with the clutch sensor, cos fuck, idk what else to do
No reason why u can't swap it.
@@cablelag I got the accelerator and the brake fucked up
@@felipev5409 Could you solve it? I've the same problem
I don't suggest to tare everything apart if you don't have serious issue with your pedals. I had flickering on my break pedal. Seeing from a different video, I just opened the enclosing of the pedals and sprayed and cleaned the break potentiometer several times without unscrewing anything and it works perfectly. If it still doesn't work, you may go further.

What’s the other video?
@@MrImpossiblyStupid ruclips.net/video/VKg0jBeP_l8/видео.html
@UbeydullahGungor Yeah, this video is for the people that already did that, and then the problem came back after lots of use.
Cause that isn't the correct way of cleaning them and this one is, they last way more than that other "fix."
my potentiometer is burnt out on the inside, is there any way i can order a replacement?
yes. there are upgrade kits on internet you can buy
AXC Sim makes upgrade potentiometers kits.
CAN i use CRC maf sensor cleaning?
Not sure, but so long as it cleans the contact and doesn't leave a non conductance substance on the plate.
I can't get those washers off without breaking the nut
Is the G27 made the same way?
Yes same
The pedals are the same across G27, 29, 920 and 923, only the wheels themselves are different.
Static electricity, attracts dust n all kinds of shit particle.
Just look at the back of your TV's!
So... Regular maintenance/cleaning is a must part of your racing. Use anti static cleaning materials and always... Dry Electrical contact cleaner. Not oil based lubricant, such as WD40 as oil, attracts more of what you are trying to avoid.
Ma comprare dei potenziometri nuovi identici?
Just THANKS ! my pedals now can handle 5k ir again!
I'll be doing this for a friend until his FANATEC gear arrives...
Has it arrived yet or is fanatec continuing to have bad customer support.
can i use wd-40 for this?
it'll get dirty really fast.
For these types of cleaning scenarios, use dry contact cleaners
Great video mate, but there’s no way I will be pulling the pedals that far apart…
Now my throtle is stuck
"look closely as i.." *fast forward x8* useless
I opened the potentiometer cleaned it and it still doesn't work
@@chrisaaron8445 i fixed it btw, i said that 3 months ago
I do the same and now it's always flicker, and I can't use the pedal, could u help me?
@@02_andikaparikesit84 fix the positions of those little things inside the potentiometer that touch the green disc, when they slide on it they send a signal and they might be in the wrong position, maybe too low or too high
@@wqxdv2145 my throttle won’t go past 30% you think this could fix it?
@@ciarannyland7398mine does the same thing
I sprayed wd40 on it and it works normally
