  • Everyone warns you about the ups and downs of teaching as an ESL teacher, but nothing will ever prepare you for getting attached to your kids and leaving them for another school. It. f*cking. hurts. Or maybe that's just me?
It's a painful cycle and reality for ESL Teachers. I don't think anyone ever means to get too attached to their students - it just happens. Letting go is a necessary part of the journey too. It has to happen someday, but it doesn't make it any easier.
Teaching in Ganghwa has been such a journey for me. I feel like I've grown so much as a person, and I owe it all to my students. I really hope that one day, our paths meet and I can see how they've grown as wonderful people.
