As a former volunteer at the Mid-Hants Railway (the Watercress Line), I remember working on No. 60019 "Bittern" only once when she was in her British Railways Brunswick Green livery. I had to use a needle-gun on her tubeplate inside her smokebox, and getting inside the smokebox was quite a challenge. Due to their streamlined casing, the 'A4's have cod-mouth doors with semi-circular smokebox doors - and not to mention the fact they don't have steps on their front buffers. So, the only way to get "Bittern"'s smokebox was to climb up the cab steps and walk along the valance. Then, once inside the smokebox itself, using the needle gun on the tubeplate was noisy and very hot as it was a hot summer's day when I was working inside "Bittern"'s smokebox. I shall never forget it!
I remember going to the national railway museum ten years ago to see all six A4s next to each other celebrating mallard’s 75th anniversary of it’s speed record
The only one I’ve seen was Dwight D Eisenhower at the National Railroad Museum last September. It was so cool. I’m sure it’s the closest I’ll get to a British Locomotive but still
Great Video. a note on Bittern's Future, She is going to be overhauled by The Sir Nigel Gresley Trust on behalf of her owner Jeremy Hosking and will then return to mainline operation.
A very enjoyable and informative video.
I remember going to the A4 gathering with my grandparents back in October. What an amazing trip that was.

I know that but while the video was in production, that news wasn’t announced yet.
29:40 - Just correcting you here : “The real one was built in 1937 to honor the coronation of King George V”
King George VI -> the SIXTH
At 4:48, you said Silver Link, when you already mentioned it before, it is supposed to be Silver King
From what I was researching when writing the script I don’t recall ever seeing that name.
