Its amazing how in this day and age, in which FPS games have a lot more freedom in a lot of ways, rail shooters are still charming.

Granted he's not in Crisis Zone or Razing Storm, but the point still stands!
It’s no Time Crisis game without Wild Dog. Even in the fifth game where he’s an old man and past his physical prime, he’s as dangerous as ever.
Played this back in the day, with my childhood friend, on the ps2, used those blue gun controllers, at my house... Good times.
Man this game takes me back. Hands down my favorite light gun game. How did you get the graphics to look so smooth?

If this was a remaster, I would've bought it in a heartbeat. Sadly the only release are arcades and PS2.
I remember blowing all my allowance on this game in an arcade back in the day. It was one of those machines where you used a gun to point at the screen, and you'd hit where you were aiming the gun. I think it even had a mechanism where the slide would reciprocate with every shot. And there was a pressure pad/button thing on the floor that you had to step on in order to emerge from cover and shoot. It was really cool! Great memories.
Yeah! It got a pedal, down on the floor. If it was pushed, you get out of your cover; and if you get the foot out, you got back to cover.
I remember playing this at the movie theater my dad would always take my family too every Friday … those were some good memories…
This series and The House of The Dead games are probably my favorite arcade games ever.

Lovely and nice where in the end Alicia likes/appreciates and cares for Alan & Wesley, and hugs them both. If only they made another appearance in another Time Crisis game with the three of them together, for they made nice team together, in this Time Crisis game. As see what happens next with Keith and Robert, from the previous game, as well as Christy.
Yeah that was sweet. Even if the Time Crisis games largely have an excuse plot, it's nice to see Alicia's humanity. I guess the game is the last time we'll ever see any of these characters.
Your helicopter scene at 12:15 is so smooth. Mine basically runs at half speed. Only solution I've found is to press F9 to go to software mode and it runs properly but looks like trash.
Tried this using the EU (PAL) verison of the game and it's just the same. Huge slowdowns.
I saw one of these games at the arcade years ago been looking ages for it. Nice to finally see it. Think it was 2 though.

Hey there, quick question. If I set my EE Cyclerate to +1, the game won't even run. It just sits on a black screen. I read that you have to set it to -1 to run the game, which does work, but then the sound starts goofing up. Did you have this issue? I set everything to your settings and ain't having much luck :/

I know this is old, but I was having same problem, switched my bios to 2.30 (whichever was the newest) and it booted right up.

I recently got PCSX2 and tried to play this but my framerate was atrocious. I think I'll have to try the settings you used for this.
I don't currently have my CRT so I can't play it with my GunCon2 on original hardware. This game looks fantastic with high internal resolution and widescreen (even though widescreen breaks the aiming).

I'm not sure if I experienced this game in the arcade or not but I played it on the PS2 so much. I never owned the ps2 light gun so i used the good ol Dualshock. never beat it but I had some great times.

I love Time Crisis and I think this is probably the best of the series! However, I can't play this game or any rail shooter games with the controller because it takes out like 80% of the fun! I regret that I sold my PS2, all Time Crisis games and GunCon's 😟 but I'm glad that I still have all Time Crisis games for PS3 (together with other rail shooter games)
what pcsx2 version you are using? the new ones not supporting light gun for now, they are rebuilding the usb plugin.
I'm using PCSX v1.6.0 and keyboard not gun. :P

How do you setup the controls for time crisis 3 with the nuvee plugin? I tried it but pcsx2 doesn't recognize the plugin.
Arcade lightgun shooters were best. Waaaaay better gaming experience than todays KBM and controllers FPS shooters.

Run the settings he has, and try a different bios. Mine works with 2.30 from 2008.

Brightness: 60
Contrast : 100
Sharpness: 25
I know CRTs for the home weren’t identical to the ones used in the arcades
But are my picture settings close to what you would see in the arcades ? Or do I need to raise or lower some settings on my CRT TV to get it as close to what an arcade CRT monitor would be like

I like how the writers just forgot that there's still an entire army on the island, so the protagonists just leave saying "they'll be fine," as if repelling an invading military force is a minor inconvenience.
