===Description=== Time Crisis is a first-person on-rails light gun shooter series of arcade video games by Namco, introduced in 1995 It is focused on the exploits of a fictional international intelligence agency who assigns its best agents to deal with a major threat by a hostile organisation, which has ranged from criminals, terrorists, to hostile military outfits, and mostly take place within fictional locations across the world. The arcade series differed from other light gun shooters of its time by incorporating unique mechanics, including the ability to duck into cover to dodge attacks and reload the player's weapon, and forcing players to complete battles in each level within an allotted amount of time. Over time, the series developed to incorporate additional features of gameplay, including two-player co-operative modes on arcade machines, the ability to use additional weapons in combat, and dealing with dangerous events. Alongside arcade machines, the series was also developed for consoles, beginning with a port of the first installment to PlayStation consoles in 1995, with all ported versions of arcade titles featuring additional content and game mechanics, such as additional stages, and different difficulty modes. Alongside the main games in the series, it has spawned a number of spin-off titles that incorporate the cover mechanics and time limit gameplay elements, but with notable differences in combat situations and organisations involved in each game's story. ---From Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Crisis For more information on this game and to read my comments on this TAS, click on the description section above. @@christophersok2559Funny you should mention that. The voice actor for Wild Dog also voiced Chris Redfield in the original Resident Evil. He also did the voice (grunts) for Paul Phoenix in Tekken 2.
Over the years, I always got the feeling that this game, rough as it is, had a certain quality that the later Namco shooters never recaptured, and after watching this again, I finally figured out what. The *urgency.* Notice that almost every second Richard isn't slaughtering foes, he's running like hell? It really looks like that he doesn't have a second to lose, that if he dawdles for even a moment, Rachel could die (or become a thrall of Wild Dog, which is arguably even worse). 2 had some nice cliffhanger moments, but it was clear that Keith and Robert weren't in any great hurry, and I never got the sense that Gen. Diaz's harebrained scheme ever had any chance of succeeding. 3 was an outright war, massive firepower taking precedence over speed. 4 resembled an Indiana Jones movie to me more than anything, nasty critters and a dark cave and an old enemy and a comical brawl. 5 was one of the slowest-paced Namco games I've ever played. Crisis Zone and Razing Storm, of course, were all about wreaking wholesale destruction and had lengthy boss fights. This is really the only one that comes across _as_ an actual time crisis.
I used to play this arcade for time killing while waiting for cinema in mall when i was in high school age. It's the only penny worthy arcade game i ever play because i can fill my time 11 minutes with thrill and fun with just 3 coins. I feel cool when people watching me on my back playing haha.. If no one in a row to play this game i always have 3 coins more to replay the game until cinema theater open. And yes you are true bro. The URGENCY. SIMPLICITY and FOCUS. The sequels always add the complication to the game. And we are all now grown up man not teenage anymore. But, imagine if that URGENCY philosophy always become the philosophy of our life. We must be more successful than now i believe. People in general dont have this Urgency in their life. They always think they'll live forever. I'm sorry to mix the topic but this really nailed my mind.
Well... I'd _also_ argue that an unforgiving timer that kills you long before the enemy does is a really big turnoff for a lot of players. Silent Scope was *really* bad about this. Only Monica, Hornet, and _occasionally_ Scorpion were any threat to your life bar; the rest of the time you'd be as healthy as a horse and that damned clock would "Oh no!" you into oblivion. The Police 911 games weren't much better; if you were any good at avoiding bullets, you could have four, seven, or a hundred lives (seriously, 100 lives was a thing you could earn in this game), and your sands would run out like any other's. Inevitably, everyone started doing the logical thing: make it easier to get killed. If you're going to eat credits, at least do it honestly. (I will say that Sega has been absolutely brutal in this regard. If I never play Deadstorm Pirates or Transformers to the end again, it'll be too soon.)
@Zikri i dont really know about it bro, just my random thinking hehe.. is there any philoshopy of that kind of thing bro? Please elaborate .. for extra knowledge
Mate just that intro build up and when he says "Time Crisis" still gives me goosebumps. As a kid this was the closest thing to being John McClane. In the arcade, having to use the foot pedal to duck in and out of cover made it feel like I was in an action movie.
@@ens0246 I'm not gonna lie, every time I play Time Crisis 3, that one moment in Stage 1 Area 2 where the duo sees an air strike coming in and effortlessly dodge it by hiding behind the doorway and just staring at each other while the flames blow past them, I imitate it every time. It's just so cool.
When this first hit arcades, it was all I could think about for like a month lol Only one arcade had it at first and they had the large monitor version where you shot at the screen a few feet away....it was the only time I ever saw that version anywhere. Glorious, all of it.

Non arcade game can finish Time Crisis in sub 9 minutes without any cheat, just need memory muscle and enemies spotted on exact place. The biggest weakness with arcade is the delay when you let go and step on pedal cost you roughly 30 seconds on entire run. On PS version, you can make it faster by just press button instead of stepping on it. If you used cheat ammo, you can finish it in 8 mins without any reload or hide except on some places. I remember when I finally beat the game in less than 9.40 on normal run, 8.30 on cheat mode. I don't have my save anymore due my PSX optic is completely dry and it wont run anymore (nobody sell that parts due being too obsolete to sell again), that was 10 years ago. Only very few played this game and nobody care if you make new record except if you played on most popular games that has thousands of them compete at same time.
My friends and I would play this together - the second player controller would be used to duck, and the other person would use the gun. If I was playing by myself, I would put the controller on the floor and hit the button with my toe. Fun stuff!
I remember I was so young I didn't understand the calibration screen. So when I seen my bullet not lining up I would focus my aim away from the centre until my misguided bullet hit the centre. Made it bloody solid playing for months with an purposely calibrated skewed aim lol
I had a time of 9:45 (might have been 9:55) back on the original playstation. I thought I was damned good - until I saw this run. You must be a Time Crisis God or something. Kudos to you!

Ohhhh.... childhood. How i miss you....
The adventures of Richard and Rachael..
. Just before he pulls his gun he pronouces... "it's Miller time"
HD and 60fps. nice.
Richard stared too long into the abyss.
But he's an careful person.
I always liked going Die Hard on the mobs…just dumping several rounds center mass. So cathartic.
bruh i don't remember time crisis was this epic.
Perfect shot!
Clearly, Sherudo Garo miscalculated. The VSSE has a experimental ground combat variant of Z.O.E. Program tech, going off what we've seen here.
Oh hey, wasn't expecting an Ace Combat reference in the comments.
Loved that when it was new in the arcades
Time Crisis 1 is literally a playable movie.
Great video
That is a hell of a less than 20 minute film!
Had this on PS1. The gun was a beast.
Canonically accurate Richard Miller:
It is crazy that Wild Dog kept on appearing in almost every Time Crisis.
Hey, we're back! It's been a while, almost in few months ago...
my childhood :D every gas station had this arcade with 2 pistols :') never finished it but had a lot of good time anuyway
17 minutes of a TAS game where the MC shoots like John Wick.
My kid self always wanted to see an action flick based on the og Time Crisis.
Then I remember getting this on PlayStation with the gun and the pedal
5:04 props to the bad guys for climbing to that tower in less than 30 seconds.
Also how they managed to move the girl through a brick wall.
The hours i have sunk into this game
Good action!
NGL the fact that one bullet killed 3 enemies at times had me full on laughing out loud
This guys the reason I dont play cod any more lol
Wow I don’t remember the graphics being this good did you use a mod?
It’s exciting to see a lone man carries a handgun with infinite ammo, destroying a whole castle.😁
My friends and I would play this together - the second player controller would be used to duck, and the other person would use the gun. If I was playing by myself, I would put the controller on the floor and hit the button with my toe. Fun stuff!
There was a button on the side of the gun you used for ducking 😂
Richard Miller THE very best agent
100% agree
I remember I was so young I didn't understand the calibration screen. So when I seen my bullet not lining up I would focus my aim away from the centre until my misguided bullet hit the centre.
Made it bloody solid playing for months with an purposely calibrated skewed aim lol
I had a time of 9:45 (might have been 9:55) back on the original playstation. I thought I was damned good - until I saw this run.
You must be a Time Crisis God or something. Kudos to you!
It's a Tool Assisted Speedrun (TAS)
meaning you can pause or rewind the game to get a perfect result
