Right on people don't realize just how many pike die after release. Never use grippers on toothy critters it damages this pikes jaws making it difficult for the fish to eat. Also never pinch behind the head the lower jaw like Clayton. I pinch down bards on all 1/0 sized hooks, easy-release no hook in arm-hand with and in the pike others points are embedded in arm (not fun wow).
lol clayton that pike is bigger than my pb muskie also 20:56 i thought that was gonna go bad but glad it didn't kinda reminded me of the time aaron got hooked with jon b lol
Hey Bud, great fish! Not trying to tell ya how to fish but when you hook up and are fighting the fish with your right hand, thats a great time to reel up all that loose line.
I’m living rent free inside that head of yours, Clayton. Forever will you catch yourself saying etcetera incorrectly. Nobody cares, you’re still the freakin’ man! When these borders open up, I’d love to come share a seat in the AlumaCraft?!? Or maybe sitting around the buddy heater dropping big ol’ jogs for some giant lakers or some gwiant walleyes 😂
Loving the pike and fly videos keep em up! Is there a reason you prefer to fight the fish in by stripping instead of fighting him on the reel? I personally prefer to fight big fish on the reel
caught a tiny pike yesterday at the end of a 12 hour day of nothing. spun itself around a group of weeds. had to pull the weeds to get the fish unstuck! fish was on the move when it ate my little jig/leech combo.
Personal preference yes, if the fish runs long enough to put it on the reel I will, but other than that reason there is no need if you can control your line :)
19:40 that fish deserves a gold medal for that triple-sow-cow! What an athletic fish 😂🤣😝
Clayton laying out another epic slam fest, great seeing all the respect you show towards these fish,!!

I love how you treat and respect the fish you catch. We all should strive for that and the quality of fishing would be that much better for everyone.
Nothing like the vicious strike of an aggressive pike!
Really enjoy the Carter videos, good dynamic you two have. 43.75" is my personal best, those were some big pike.
A video with Jay at caribou! Can’t wait!
I've been watching fly vs. jerk for years. Awesome to see your version. That was a big girl. Nice job bud.

Brand type and weight of fly line and tippet construction materials.. How to from the backing line to the lake... Give Bessie!!!!
Postscript: You don't have to sell us one of those flies.. Just show us how to make our own :)

Yes TFO 12 wt! Nailed it :)
What wt in the flyrod and type of line
What glide was that?
Is this Lake of the Prairies?
Shoulda taught him how to net before the fish! Get that in the water and not moving! I'm better now. Done yelling at the monitor. LOL
Anokaman it’s all good.
what lake is this?
Is it just personal preference not getting the fish on the reel?
Personal preference yes, if the fish runs long enough to put it on the reel I will, but other than that reason there is no need if you can control your line :)
Gotta say the chest cam sucks compared to the head cam. Keep slamming em
