    This is a great video, and this is a very, very important maintenance job because - if the corner drips during winter freeze/thaw it can result in a patch of that super hard black ice where you go around the corner of your house. (Ask me how I know). I didn't have access to a box mitre so I used some roof tar sealant and a plastic putty spreader to force it into the gaps on the sky facing top side. I then went in on the street visible underside gaps with clear outdoor silicone, forcing it in with another scraper, then wiping away the excess.
    I forgot to do my repair during the summertime so I had to use an old towel to soak up all the residual water before doing my repair.
    Great video!

    That's fine, and dandy. Now show me how to remove old sealant, and reseal gutter that's still attached to the house while hanging off a ladder 18' off the ground!

      Its pretty easy all you do is stand on the rung of the ladder that you placed under the project. Not an issue. Both hands are free as long as you set the ladder up properly. Proper planning will keep you safe.

    Liked and subbed just because I didn't think I'd ever need to do this until random things happened and here I am to see what I'm up against! Thanks!

      Thank you, this video stuff is not easy for me. I have a bunch of video ideas for gutters and ice on roofs. But not being good at the editing part maks it hard to do.

    My continuas gutter seems to be leaking between the facia and gutter. What can I do what do I look for. The shingles are overlapping the gutter properly.

      Sorry for the delay. Your problem most likely is the drip edge. It needs to be bent out from the fascia. It should not ne tight up against the fascia. Or you could put a two inch wide strip of flashing behind the drip edge and bend it into the gutter. Hope thos helps.

    Don't you need to smooth/level out the sealant?

    • @craighalbohm7244
      @craighalbohm7244  4 года назад +2

      No as the sealant will smooth out on it's own. Especially if you do this on a warm day.

    So if we can't get the fancy sealant that you use what do we get at Lowe's or Home Depot?

      Kevin, sorry for the late response. I would not use a silicone as that cures more like rubber. I would use a sealant called through the roof and only use it on the inside of the gutter as it is black.
