Great review Pete but I would like to know how you get your base down so flat it looked like you were using direct gloss there at first, I use my GTI Pro with the TE10 and 1.2 but the finish I get from solvent basecoat is not quite as flat as it is here, I could even see your base seemed to flow out a little with a nice glossy reflection, come on mate let us into your secret 🙏🙏😂👍
Hi John, If i want it really flat i treat it a little like applying a clear, i dont overly thin the paint, just to what's recommended but these days i tend to judge the viscosity by the resistance to my stirring stick but it's not far off what the manufacturer intended and lay a good 2 coats substrate permitting ie a primed surface. As you will probably know my go to gun would be the Gti Pro Lite 1.2 TE10 at 2.0 bar, if i want it a bit flatter I'd go 1.3 so as you say it seems to flow similar to a clear. I've been told that your finish in your clear will only be as good as what's under it so I take as much care as I can with my primers and base.
Yes, i use 29psi for base with the TE10 cap as it's a trans tech cap so runs at normal pressure, the HV30 which i used to have but sold as hardly ever used it, runs at around 25 psi, gives a good finish but will empty your compressor quicker than a blow out 😬

@@peteshobbies5383 I believe you are correct about the cap being board out. Just found some new knowledge to help your video, main difference in the new kiwami4 is that the fan was made a hair wider and the atomization is ever so slightly finer/more compact. Kiwami4 recommends 1.3 for one component solvant and a 1.4 for water based base coat as well as high solid clear
Hi James, i wonder if that's just marketing speech as i can't see any difference between the original Bellaria and the Kiwami4 as far as performance goes, yes, i can understand the recommendation that 1.4 would be recommended for waterbourn and UHS clears, the Japanese manufacturers have recently bought out a range of bigger tipped midi guns for waterbourn paints and they have been 1.8 and 2.0 tips so pretty big, cheers mate 👍
Nice comparison and great info. So as it stands excluding the Walcom Carbonio, which hopefully you maybe reviewing at some stage, is the Sagola 4600 still your favourite for Basecoat?
Hi Mate, There's a few guns that come to mind when someone asks that, of the one's I've used which is most, unfortunately not the Walcom at the moment, the ones that i really like are the Devilbiss DV1 base and the Sagola 4600 Aqua, I have some Sata's which are good but i still feel, having spent my own money on them they are overpriced. The Sagola would take it from the DV1 simply because it's cheaper and preforms just as well and is made to an equally high standard, appreciate the comments 👍

Hi Ganesh, i paid 170GBP for the gun only as i already have a cup
