Harper: "Well according to Nietzsche, 'to live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.' and therefore I believe that you incorrectly calling that ball foul symbolized my own suffering.
Umpire: "You make an interesting point, but Matthew Arnold once said, 'This strange disease of modern life, with its sick hurry, its divided aims.' Perhaps you just need to calm down and let life happen to you, Bryce."
Harper: "See ump, that's all I was talking about. I'm glad we had this talk."

Losing Harper let them gain a lot as a result, as well as dodge the possibility of shelling out a lot of money for a long contract. Now, they can pay for a future (even extend guys like Soto and Turner) rather than hold on to someone who's, despite being my favorite player, admittedly very streaky. Usually, his streaks are long and very hot/cold, but the Nats didn't really need that with the direction they were going in. Not to mention they had the most momentum out of any team I've ever seen going into the playoffs, when the Phillies fell off from tons of injuries and literally only having Bryce Harper performing well from the starting line-up. The Nats in their first 50 games last year were a lot like the Phillies in their last 50 games last year, to put in perspective.

It’s strictly a judgement call that we have horrible camera angles for and the one guy responsible for the call is 10 feet away from it with the best view. The umpires HAVE to do their jobs better.
This ridiculous throwing people out rather than do their jobs is getting OLD and making baseball look trash...

mordsythe, Telling an umpire to be a professional is a personal comment and will always get you ejected.

Besides it being an attack on the umpire directly, Bryce has a storied history with umpires and I think with him it's a legitimate feeling to not want to talk about a call be thinks you got wrong if you are an umpire.
