One thing I've found useful which you might want to experiment with to speed up this process is to do the initial white coat with some thinned down white ink. It tends to collect in the crevices really nicely, so you get the spaces between the coils showing as an intense white, while the coils are just tinted white.
Oddly I use white oil paint wash and then just wipe off the top of the coils with a make up sponge to clean up the contact point, sort of like reverse panel lining.

I’ll give that a try, thanks!

That’s great to hear, and thank you for watching them! If you’re on instagram or twitter I’d love to see them when they’re done!
so good!!
Awesome tutorial! Got another like and subscriber! :)
Awesome, thank you!
does the white need to be ink or will a normal acrylic white work ?
White acrylic can work too, but just be careful to make sure it's transparent on the glow areas
Looks great! What red ink is that exactly? Looks like sc 75.
Thanks! Yeah it was the S75. It’s still okay to use, but the new red ink from AK, or Blood Angels red contrast from citadel are my go-to now
Sweet
Subbed!
Thank you!
My ink is just so runny so it spiderwebs and runs. I know it’s likely my trigger control but I failed miserably.
Inks are much more watery so try turning down the air pressure on your tank to like 20psi that's what I did and it works perfectly.
