That is WHAS channel 11 in Louisville. I’ll be happy to get 15 year old Knob Creek picks for 50 bucks again….hopefully. To me the first sign of a slow down was when the Elijah Craig barrel picks were getting blown out into the market.
It was inevitable. You can't ride the wave forever, just ask a surfer! BF had vertical integration with their own cooperage and now they are shuttering it for short term outlook. BF is making a big mistake. They'll be at the mercy of others now, even if they have contracts regarding barrel order priority. MSRP's on their high end products are ridiculous and the quality is debatable for some of them. Birthday Bourbon anyone? 1924 price gouged at $115-120 MSRP but selling for $150-200 in reality? President's Choice single barrel variance, King of Kentucky single barrel variance? There should be no quality speculation with how much these products cost, period! And let's not forget their lower end stuff that has crept up in price, blue or green label SBBP, black label SBBP, poor availability or distribution of Coopers' Craft, Jack Daniel's high end availability, Woodford Reserve high end price gouging for young whiskey, etc. Brown-Forman needs to get back to fundamentals. Good whiskey for a fair price! Why they sold Early Times I'll never know, they had a perpetual gold mine with that label!

Yeah the EC picks are freaking everywhere. A lot of times they sit for months on end 🔚
At least the stores around here.
So I shouldn’t start a distilling business? Maybe wait a bit?

We could go halves
Stop charging ridiculous prices for whiskey. I believe many brands will follow suit in weeks to come. This it begins.
Old Forester 1924, 100 proof, MSRP $120. Woodford Batch Proof, 5-7 years, MSRP $150.
@@Best_Overserved_--_No_Ice Friar Tucks in Springfield, IL is charging $200 for a bottle of Old Forester 1924!!! What a BAD JOKE!
