They wouldn't care about some no-name girl from a poor district being pregnant and dying except for the drama that it would add to the games. That is at least my take on it.
Everyone has great points, but I would like to add that, in the poor districts, an unborn baby would likely die because of starvation, sickness, work injuries to the mother, etc. The richer districts may have a form of pregnancy prevention, or may also face some of the same risks, such as high stress in the mother (perhaps, even, due to the process of the reaping, even if not chosen) or work injuries. The "pet" districts (one, two, and four, I believe?) have kids actively volunteering, and a pregnant girl would probably decide to keep her baby alive rather than going into the games, as well as not wanting to be slowed down by morning sickness and an enlarged abdomen. It does make sense that pregnant girls wouldn't get in often, if at all, but I doubt that it'd be due to a show of mercy by the Capitol. That's just my opinion, though.
Would they give you a wheelchair in the games? They allow you to keep your glasses so I guess it would be the same. Although the Capitol might just replace your legs with robotic ones.
The capitol may just terminate children at birth whom have severe disabilities. As it is unlikely they could participate in the games or go mining (if from district 12) or chop trees (if district 7) etc. Also I don’t think you could easily get out of the games.
Yes, but many disabilities you can't see until the child gets slightly older. For example, autism, deafness and blindness. Really, you can't see mental disabilities or anything like that until the baby gets older, unless they have the form of blindness where they just don't have irises or pupils. If they were born with, say, something like Robert Hoge (If you don't know who that is you should Google him or read the book "Ugly", it's a very inspiring story), where their legs were all twisted up or they were missing their arms or something like that, or it was just anything physical at all, then I could see them doing that. Sorry this was so long... :)
Everyone's points are extremely well thought out, but here's my take on it: There are two mentions of disabled children in districts eleven and twelve that are allowed to live (well, at least for a little while,) but they aren't disabled to the point of not being able to work. We aren't given an example of any children that have no chance of being able to work to some extent. This may be a coincidence... or maybe not. The Capitol has no issue with murdering older children (especially twelve to eighteen year olds.) I'm not trying to say that anyone's wrong, but this is just my line of thought. I would say the capitol wouldn't bother actively killing disabled children, the environment they've created make people so focused on immediate survival- immediate meaning short term but also the survival of the most important people in your life- that many disabled people wouldn't get the support they need. A disabled child might have a family that will do everything in their power to give them the support and care they need, but if you don't have a community willing to accommodate and help with that, then those efforts are limited. The capitol has done a really good job of tamping down the social mindedness of it's citizens, just look at the children who are become tributes, they're made to see each other as rivals, targets, or temporary allies rather than fellow victims of a cruel government, who are all facing if not death then a lifetime of trauma.
The capitol would probably see it as a waste of food so they would see it as a mercy killing so they don’t have to deal with it and their family’s wouldn’t have to worry
I wouldn't risk faking being at death's door, especially because you can't really do it several years in a row without raising any suspicion and/or having to admit you're "better" and therefore have to attend the reaping

or they change the rules to "Not only one can win. if sb gives birth to a child during the games, parent(s) and baby can win as a team" lol and if they are really savage they change the rules back to normal right at the end when there's only mom and baby left
Likely if she was that close to term, they would just induce her before the games to prevent that. The only way that would happen would be if the baby was very premature.
Another point about pregnancy that applies especially to the poorer districts, most of the children were so severely malnourished that they probably didnt have menstrual cycles. This could also be why katniss mentioned the Capitol giving the boys something to stop hair growth but didnt mention loss of a menstrual cycle during her games. I doubt that most people had enough to eat themselves, much less to sustain a life.
Perhaps but once you're chosen and training even if you're in a poor district (I'm not sure how long training is before the games) but they're given bedding, shelter and good, full meals. during that time period, Meaning the woman would likely get her menstrual cycle back. The richer District women and girls would have never lost it in the first place more likely.
@@irrelevance3859 Okay but menstrual cycles can also be thrown off under extreme stress, which the fact that they are about to face their deaths, would definitely be a case of extreme stress.
They definitely would allow mentally and physically disabled kids into the Hunger Games since (if I remember correctly) the District 10 Male from the 74th was crippled. This just drives your home your point about how the Capitol doesn't care if they are disabled or not.
My friend read in a Hunger Games Magazine that Glimmer had bad vision and that's why it was so hard for her to escape the tracker jackers. Idk if that was true or not.
@@nightworld3206 She missed all of her shots when she aimed at Katniss. She might have chosen the weapon just so Katniss couldn't get it. We don't know for sure if it is true or not🤷♀️
@@nightworld3206 it actually said in the book that it was obvious glimmer couldn’t use a bow and arrow, you need to read up on your hunger games mate no offence.
In mockingjay the book, Katniss asks Boggs what month it is He replies that next week is September. Katniss then knows that she was in the arena 5 or 6 weeks ago. So Katniss was in 13 for August and September. The hunger games would probably take place during July every year
you are right. Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (the Hunger Games prequel that was just released) is about the 10th Hunger Games and it explicitly states that it’s July during the Games.
In the books, Katniss describes the male district 10 tribute as the crippled boy So yeah I think the capitol has no regard for human life and honestly wouldn’t care
Unless you live in a career district. If I was in a career district I’d take as much tesserae as I want since someone else will volunteer whether I get chosen or not.
Ngl if I was in District Twelve with that hole in the fence I would literally just take my family and escape into the woods. After grabbing what we need from our house we could set it on fire to make everybody think we died, so nobody would wonder why we were gone.
When it comes to a tribute being pregnant I don’t think snow would send them into the arena bc he talks about how he’s not above killing children but he’s not wasteful so I think he would consider that as wasteful killing a baby
Yeah cuz in normal hunger games he wants to send 12 boys and 12 girls. Someone pregnant would technically add another person so unless the capitol has a solution to that you might be right.
I read a fanfic once where Katniss was actually pregnant going into the quarter quell. The gamemakers snuck poison into her food that would induce a miscarriage and tricked her and Peeta into getting stuck in the jabberjay section listening to baby screams when it happened. That scene was truly brutal and I 100% believe the capitol would do something like that for the views.
The answer to the question about people mental issues was pretty obvious to me. Wirus, who had autism, was still put into the 75th games which answer the question.
What if a pregnant person was about to win, but the capitol installs said the baby counted as a tribute? If a pregnant person wins and goes to victors village, does their child have to go to a reaping?
@@michaelalexander1052 Okay but that's not what they're asking. They're saying because the mother was pregnant at the time technically the fetus survived too and technically also won. victors don't return into the reaping pool, at least not until the 75th hunger games happened they had not. So maybe the baby would be exempt?
@@abbysunshine4168 I don't think so. although It would be in the hunger games it wouldn't be fighting and it would probably get taken when it was born by the hovercraft
I would be curious about someone whose legs are missing or don't work (both legs) or are paraplegic, how would they stand for the countdown in the arena?
Sprxng i would really recommend reading the books if you are able to! They, like most times, have a lot more detail and information than the movies do!
In different districts, the reaping would be different. For example in a Suzanne Collins interview, she said in the career districts (1, 2 and 4) wouldn’t do picking a name from a bowl as every year, at least 2 of each of each gender would volunteer in these districts.
I would like to see a movie where a tribute in a wheelchair is reaped and is basically screwed in the arena, but there is someone else who decides to do all they possibly can go get that person to the end. The one protecting the person in the wheelchair has no one left that they care about and decides to eventually sacrifice themselves so the person in the wheelchair can win the game.
I think it would depend on the kind of disability. Keep in mind that we know of at least 2 people that have severe mental disabilities. Martin a boy from district 11 who was described as having the mentality of a 3 year old and Greasy Sae's granddaughter from district 12 who is mentioned to have similar problems so It wouldn't be impossible to have someone with a severe condition. I would assume that if someone was incapable of speech or understanding basic concepts then they would be excluded because it wouldn't be possible to get them sponsors as a result of them being unable to prove they have a fighting chance. The biggest drive to the games is entertainment and I don't think any capital member would want to see the equivalent of a 3 year old being sent to their death. I can also imagine anyone with a physical disability where they can't even stand let alone walk would result in them not being in the games either for the same reason. We never see anyone with a physical disability as severe. I can imagine that it would be an unwritten rule only known to those who put in the slips of paper. After all who would even know if a persons name is not in the bowl? The capital would never say that people with disabilities can't be reaped but would just make it seam like it's pure luck. Like you said the poorer districts won't have the ability to keep children with severe disabilities alive so there would be few of them and for the richer districts they have so many volunteers that it wouldn't matter.
Actually the physically and mentally disabled only applies to if you are in a wheelchair but their have been people in past hunger games who were Blind, Deaf, Autistic, Ect. And their have been Victor's of this disabled category
I noted a line in the book about the neatly handwritten slips with the names. It makes me think that and official comes into the school and watches as the children write their names on their designated number of slips. This would be a good way to drive home their helplessness in the situation while making sure the kids with a lot of slips are held up as less important compared to the ones with the small number of slips. See, if you don't keep your nose clean your children will have 42 slips like him. His parents are failures and he has to suffer for it.
I think that in some of the richer districts they would have some sort of cure for more severe disabilities (Down syndrome, high functioning autism etc) that they could somehow implement before birth
By the way I like all of your hunger games videos and dose anyone else ask you why you like child slaughter just because you like some books and movies
I’m happy you’re embracing your interests!! A few people do question why I like the series, but I always explain I like the political aspect, not the child slaughter 😂
A pregnant Tribute would probably play into Snow's idea of 'hope' being something for Districts to strive for, instructing the Gamemakers to put the odds in the pregnant girl's favor, send disaster or manufactured deaths at other Tributes, making her the winner in the end to give the Capital their lust for entertainment and other Districts hope that they can 'beat the odds'.
SPOILER ALERT . . . . . . . After watching the film adaptation of the hunger games ballad of songbirds and snakes, we can come to the conclusion that the capitol doesn't care about disabilities in their tributes as we see Bobbin (D8) is an amputee (right arm), Wovey (D8) has down syndrome, and Dill (D11) is suffering from a severe case of tuberculosis, so unfortunately the capitol does not care about the state of the tributes AT ALL, and (at leas t in tbosas) they are not given any treatment or aid. Love your videos btw!!
i agree with everything you say, as always and i think that a good example of the hope thing is the boy from district (ten?) with the 'crippled foot' who survived a really long time and i think that he may have got into the top ten but i'm not sure. that would have definitely given his district hope and would probably encourage the capital that crippled tributes are good to go into the arena maybe? anyway, love you and as always you deserve to have so many more subsribers!
I totally agree about physical disabilities but mental ones I doubt they’d put them into the reaping since that’s just not “entertaining” since they’d be such easy targets. In the first book the one boy Katniss mentioned that gets reaped I think has a crippled foot. I’m re-reading these now and found your videos and love your take on the books/movies. In the video about fox face I had totally forgotten her whole thing was plant IDing and said “omg that makes so much sense” lol
The books frequently mention Greasy Sea's grandchild many times, so we know that disabled children are able to survive. Rue also mentions a mentally disabled child in district 11.
I would only fake being on death's door if I was in one of the outlying districts because it's likely that the districts closer to the capitol would have technology to tell them whether or not you were faking it
Okay, so what if a tribute GAVE BIRTH in the arena? Could they try to get the attention of a hovercraft to get the baby out with the claw thing? It is apparently not THAT hard to give birth on your own, but the one concern is the umbilical cord. It would have to be cut properly, and no one would help a new parent with that, not if they wanted them dead anyway. The whole POINT of the Games is the diminution of the value of District lives, so who would care if the baby asphyxiated?
Know Megan Hayes? (not sure of the spelling) she was reaped only days after she have given birth to her first son (i think 4 days?). She won the game but the capitol still did her dirty. She has one of the most saddening story on the Hunger Games universe. Definitely worthy to search for.
@@StoryDiver omg you're probably fed up with my comments at this point haha sorry! but i just discovered your channel yesterday and I absolutely love all of your theories videos they're so interesting and I can't stop watching!
In the first Hunger Games book, Katniss remembers that there was a deranged tribute who tried to eat his kills, and was killed by an orchestrated avalanche. While this may not exactly count as disabled, it did happen.
I think that is a person that is injured or pregnant or sick will be put in without medication but I think that if they are from the career districts that they might get to take their medication into the games
Ik this comment is old, but I'm sure peacekeepers do checks into houses to make sure that everybody's at the reaping. And even if they didn't, it's still highly unlikely that they're able to hide their child for 19 years without any peacekeepers knowing
@@olivia8oof I mean they could, but it's unlikely they would try it, considering they would most likely be greatly punished if someone found out. And even if they can do it successfully, the 19 yr old will have to get a job after their hiding. The peacekeepers wouldn't recognize and know who that is and would probably get suspicious
there’s really no point in not going to the reaping, because regardless, isn’t your name still in the bowl? you could still get chosen as easily as anybody else. the peacemakers would just realize you weren’t there and track you down, where you’d likely be thrown into the games no matter what. the capitol doesn’t care if you’re near deaths door- they can likely use technology to cure you, or they can not. it doesn’t matter to them if you’re not in perfect health going into the games; all that matters to them is the entertainment factor.
I think you're actually right about the disabilities Story Diver. You forgot to mention this, but in the first book (the 74th games) there was a boy from District 10 who had a crippled foot.
Story Diver Yes of course. I don’t expect you to mention every single one, but I felt that was a pretty important one for what you were trying to argue
I think you’re completely right! Especially when you consider that Pieta had acquired a disability during the 74th hunger games, and they didn’t care! He was not the only one either! There were at least a couple other victors in the quarter quell, i’m remembering three, I could be wrong, who had acquired a disability or mental illness by those games. There were those people addicted to morphling. I think they were the victors from district 6.. And if I remember correctly, please correct me if I’m wrong, a technology victor also had a disability! In general, Susan Collins does an awesome job including this particular diversity group In her novels and representing us really well! She does a really great job of highlighting the person, and the individual contributions they can make to society :-) . Please forgive me because I haven’t read the trilogy in a while, so I can’t remember exact names, but I loved that Boggs, I think, is portrayed with dignity and heroism before he dies from his injuries. And then we have Annie who was saved by her boyfriend from going into the games! Finic is a hero!!Not sure if I spelled his name right :-)
Hiii just a quick note the boy tribute that was crippled in the 74th was from District 10 and he was already crippled before the games. Katniss notes he used a cane and limped to get up to the stage at his reaping and that he was very quiet in his interview, but he still made it to the final 8 so your idea of a crippled child bringing a lot hope to their district was extremely adequate. I can totally see how that would work. The scene the movie showers was the boy tribute from district 8 falling.
Story Diver yes I do think that was their intention but they showed the male tribute from district 8 getting injured not the male tribute from district 10
What lipstick is this? Your lip colors are always so amazing, I would really appreciate it if you would mention them in the description box in the future! I love your content so much 💚💚💚
A disabled tribute would have better luck playing with the Capitol's and other tributes' emotions, similarly to what Johanna Mason did. Considering most of the capitol's people are very sentimental and ignorant, it is easy to dramatize on your condition. They would need to have an extraordinary sense of charisma in order to get some kind of aid, tho.
if thats true beacuse i can gat people to listen to me and i'm disabled the odds would deffenintly be in my favor (also beacuse i watched a bunch of video on how to survIVe the hunger games)
I would probably fake hearing loss or blindness because both are serious handicaps and probably won’t make the games any more fun for people to watch since I couldn’t hear or see someone sneaking up on me.
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes states that the Reaping takes place on July 4th, and we see in every book except Mockingjay that the tributes wait a few days before going into the arena so what if someone turned 19 during those few days or on July 4th (or what if someone would turn 12 on or 1-2 days after the reaping?)
I think the only exception would be somebody in a coma. I mean, maybe the capitol would have some way of waking them up or something but for the most part, it seems like that person would actually have a shot at getting out of it.
I'd like to know how the gamemakers would act in a scenario where there's 2 tributes left. 1 in a diabetic coma and the other far away, injured from a fight and unable to move far/fast. Sure someone would die first eventually, but it would hardly be riveting television.
I am just wondering if someone who didn't go to the reaping got chosen to be tribute but was still in hiding away from the reaping ceremony. I am just wondering what will happen. Since they weren't there would the peacekeepers choose to find them or just leave them be? I would think they would get severly damaged and put in the game with no help with there injuries in the games if the peacekeeprs did find that person.
I agree, I think the peacekeepers would go collect them and if they were healthy enough to participate they would be forced to, though as you say they would be treated roughly and would likely be injured
Well in the first book in district 12 maybe not because the peace keepers were more well lax, but in district 11 (and idk what else) definitely but it might not have been just injuries it may have been death.
In this world it makes sense that injured children would still be send into the arena, otherwise 90% of kids would break their leg on purpose to not have to join in the games.
I feel like if you had a mental ILLNESS like depression or anxiety, you would still go into the games, but if you were born with a severe mental DISABILITY and you won’t be reaped
i’m sure in the poorer districts they would have died already. they are unable to take care of themselves or others and if they can’t do anything with they’re life they’re a waste of food/meds/resources (in a country/district like theirs, now a days they can obviously have more of a life). however, in upper districts they might have medicine or surgery for these types of things. for example katniss lost hearing in her left ear during the explosion of the careers food in book 1 and i’m pretty sure that when she woke up after being removed from the arena she mentioned that it was fixed. for blind kids, they might have special goggles like the night vision ones.
I know what you guys mean but imagine that she just lives in district 1 and not in the capital but is still the presidents granddaughter! Would she be reaped?
She would go into the Games regardless of how far along she was. As for if she gives birth, the gamemakers would likely recover the infant and send it to the mother’s family until she came home (if she survived the Games)

Or the baby is now a tribute and if the mom is good the mom kills everyone then suicides so the baby wins😂
or they change the rules to
"Not only one can win. if sb gives birth to a child during the games, parent(s) and baby can win as a team" lol and if they are really savage they change the rules back to normal right at the end when there's only mom and baby left
Ladies and gentlemen, a new tribute has entered the arena
Likely if she was that close to term, they would just induce her before the games to prevent that. The only way that would happen would be if the baby was very premature.
Another point about pregnancy that applies especially to the poorer districts, most of the children were so severely malnourished that they probably didnt have menstrual cycles. This could also be why katniss mentioned the Capitol giving the boys something to stop hair growth but didnt mention loss of a menstrual cycle during her games. I doubt that most people had enough to eat themselves, much less to sustain a life.
That makes a lot of sense!
@@irrelevance3859 Okay but menstrual cycles can also be thrown off under extreme stress, which the fact that they are about to face their deaths, would definitely be a case of extreme stress.
in the injection they get before the games that probably stops the periods aswell
They definitely would allow mentally and physically disabled kids into the Hunger Games since (if I remember correctly) the District 10 Male from the 74th was crippled. This just drives your home your point about how the Capitol doesn't care if they are disabled or not.
Very true!
Jesus Christ I would of been screwed 😅
My friend read in a Hunger Games Magazine that Glimmer had bad vision and that's why it was so hard for her to escape the tracker jackers. Idk if that was true or not.
It’s not in any of the canon media, so it’s unlikely to be true
@@StoryDiver That makes more sense because she was great at archery. I wonder where the magazine publishers got that random information from.😂

In mockingjay the book, Katniss asks Boggs what month it is
He replies that next week is September. Katniss then knows that she was in the arena 5 or 6 weeks ago. So Katniss was in 13 for August and September. The hunger games would probably take place during July every year
That definitely makes sense!
And the Victory Tour takes place in December.

@@analisapena3086 *GEM OF PANEM BLASTS IN THE BACKGROUND*
you are right. Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (the Hunger Games prequel that was just released) is about the 10th Hunger Games and it explicitly states that it’s July during the Games.
In the books, Katniss describes the male district 10 tribute as the crippled boy
So yeah I think the capitol has no regard for human life and honestly wouldn’t care
Very true!
Perhaps during the first games, young women (16-18) decided to get pregnant, hoping it would make them exempt from the reaping?
It's possible!
@Amelia De groot
o-o
maybe that concept will be discussed in the prequel!
Louisa Coote good point but Katniss went into the games “pregnant”
What if they can’t go to the reaping cause of labor and they get chosen
I think everyone would be scared at the reaping
I agree, most people would be for sure!
Scared to death
🙄
Unless you live in a career district. If I was in a career district I’d take as much tesserae as I want since someone else will volunteer whether I get chosen or not.
actually district 1,2 and 4 train for the games, and if they are not reaped by the age of 18, they volunteer themselves.
Ngl if I was in District Twelve with that hole in the fence I would literally just take my family and escape into the woods. After grabbing what we need from our house we could set it on fire to make everybody think we died, so nobody would wonder why we were gone.
That's a good plan!
True true but what bout the keepers they search the forests

In the book they were injured before the reaping; in the movie a child was injured during training
No because they wouldn’t care anyways
Very true!
When it comes to a tribute being pregnant I don’t think snow would send them into the arena bc he talks about how he’s not above killing children but he’s not wasteful so I think he would consider that as wasteful killing a baby
True
Yeah cuz in normal hunger games he wants to send 12 boys and 12 girls. Someone pregnant would technically add another person so unless the capitol has a solution to that you might be right.
I read a fanfic once where Katniss was actually pregnant going into the quarter quell. The gamemakers snuck poison into her food that would induce a miscarriage and tricked her and Peeta into getting stuck in the jabberjay section listening to baby screams when it happened. That scene was truly brutal and I 100% believe the capitol would do something like that for the views.
I think if someone tried to fake being at deaths door they would immediately be pit into the games
It’s possible!
They would probably just be killed by peacekeepers
The answer to the question about people mental issues was pretty obvious to me. Wirus, who had autism, was still put into the 75th games which answer the question.
Very true!
Wiress
you say is autistic not has autism and annie cresta is also autistic
What if a pregnant person was about to win, but the capitol installs said the baby counted as a tribute?
If a pregnant person wins and goes to victors village, does their child have to go to a reaping?
I would say yes as children of victors are eligible for reaping
yes, in either catching fire or mockingjay (the books), katniss mentions that children of victors go into the reaping bowl just like everyone else

They would likely be fitted with prosthetics, or expected to sit
If I had to go to the reaping, I would sit on a door, with “Deaths door” written on it. Technically, I would be on Deaths door
Amazing!

So i watched the first film and instantly became obsessed
Sprxng i would really recommend reading the books if you are able to! They, like most times, have a lot more detail and information than the movies do!
Story Diver yep! I managed to get the first one from my school library!
There’s a boy with a club foot in the 74th games, I think from district 10.
Yes there is, and yes he is from 10
Wait what do u guys mean
In the book, the boy from district 10 is disabled
And their have been Victor's of this disabled category
so youve also realized that annie cresta is autistic
You are wearing a light blue lipstick and rocking it

Thank you!
I really like that idea!
Imagine how evil reap a blind kid , I'd volunteer to save them.
Going off the books the boy from district 10 had a crippled foot at the time of the reaping so that kind of partially answers one of the questions

I think that in some of the richer districts they would have some sort of cure for more severe disabilities (Down syndrome, high functioning autism etc) that they could somehow implement before birth

In the book district 10 the boy has a crippled foot and he is reaped
Love these videos! Very interesting topics discussed!
Thank you! I'm happy you like the videos!
In the books we know they reap people with disabilities because in the 74th Hunger Games the boy from 10 had a crippled leg.
i agree with everything you say, as always and i think that a good example of the hope thing is the boy from district (ten?) with the 'crippled foot' who survived a really long time and i think that he may have got into the top ten but i'm not sure. that would have definitely given his district hope and would probably encourage the capital that crippled tributes are good to go into the arena maybe? anyway, love you and as always you deserve to have so many more subsribers!
That makes sense! And thank you!
Yes, some children with disabilities would survive and live in the Districts
I would only fake being on death's door if I was in one of the outlying districts because it's likely that the districts closer to the capitol would have technology to tell them whether or not you were faking it
It’s possible!
Love the lipstick! You rock the look!

If the hunger games are for kids how did mags take part, this was probably mentioned in the movies but I don’t remember
Mags was a child during her Games. Remember that the Quarter Quell had different rules due to the twist
Sandra Nicole any victors aloud in the third quarter quell
In the 3rd Quarter Quell, it is said any victor despite Age, Health or Status
Sandra Nicole have you ever watched the movies or read any of the books? 🤦♀️
In the first book, one of the kids had a clubbed foot and was still plopped into the games.
Okay but like I love your lipstick it's such a unique style!

Wait if someone hid their kid until they were 19 so they wouldn’t have to get reaped? What would have to the kid and their family.
Ik this comment is old, but I'm sure peacekeepers do checks into houses to make sure that everybody's at the reaping. And even if they didn't, it's still highly unlikely that they're able to hide their child for 19 years without any peacekeepers knowing
@@aiyanawalker8563 maybe unless they were really good at hiding them but it would be very difficult
@@olivia8oof I mean they could, but it's unlikely they would try it, considering they would most likely be greatly punished if someone found out. there’s really no point in not going to the reaping, because regardless, isn’t your name still in the bowl? you could still get chosen as easily as anybody else. the peacemakers would just realize you weren’t there and track you down, where you’d likely be thrown into the games no matter what. the capitol doesn’t care if you’re near deaths door- they can likely use technology to cure you, or they can not. it doesn’t matter to them if you’re not in perfect health going into the games; all that matters to them is the entertainment factor.
I think you're actually right about the disabilities Story Diver. You forgot to mention this, but in the first book (the 74th games) there was a boy from District 10 who had a crippled foot.

Finic is a hero!!Not sure if I spelled his name right :-)
I wouldn’t fake being ill. I would just go into the reaping and hope the odds are in my favor.
Actually. The pregnant woman's death would make the people want to rebel even more.
Indeed in the book he is crippled. This is replaced by him actively injuring himself in the movie
Story Diver yes I do think that was their intention but they showed the male tribute from district 8 getting injured not the male tribute from district 10
Just Chilling it’s not the exact same tribute, but for an audience the idea is the same: injuries won’t stop you from participating
What if a pregnant girl actually went into labor during the games? What would happen to the child?
The Capitol would likely remove the baby from the arena and return it to the District

The pregnancy thing was apparently applicable to the Female Morphling in Tales of the Hunger Games
I have a motor disability (walk with support) and if i were a tribute i know for sure i'd die in the first minutes of the games. Lol
I think you should make a video of what would happen if someone was reaped while they were 18 but turned 19 before the games begin
I'll look into it!
omg i love your videos
ps: you are right, they get sent in injured but may not too much or it wouldnt be fun enough for the capitol

@@StoryDiver i saw thank for replying to me its a honor ❤️❤️
I would probably fake hearing loss or blindness because both are serious handicaps and probably won’t make the games any more fun for people to watch since I couldn’t hear or see someone sneaking up on me.
That makes sense!
It's possible! Though would they be sustained if they're in a comatose state? Most Districts are very poor and only have very basic medical care
I'd like to know how the gamemakers would act in a scenario where there's 2 tributes left. 1 in a diabetic coma and the other far away, injured from a fight and unable to move far/fast. Sure someone would die first eventually, but it would hardly be riveting television.
The game makers would put muts in the arena
I CANNOT wait to hear your thoughts and theories after the next book is released!

I don't buy it. I have one thing to say about that: "Bullshark!" - Aqua. I say that's Bullshark!
Depression and anxiety can be considered disabilities depending on circumstances
I was trying to find the answer to this for so long
I hope this helped!
They were so ready to make Annie so into the games In catching fire before mags volunteered
Very true!
annie would go under two of the things mentioned in the video disabled and pregnant assuming she got pregnent before getting married
Bro imagine a blind person having to go into the games. Or a deaf person who can’t hear any announcements
i’m sure in the poorer districts they would have died already. they are unable to take care of themselves or others and if they can’t do anything with they’re life they’re a waste of food/meds/resources (in a country/district like theirs, now a days they can obviously have more of a life). however, in upper districts they might have medicine or surgery for these types of things. for example katniss lost hearing in her left ear during the explosion of the careers food in book 1 and i’m pretty sure that when she woke up after being removed from the arena she mentioned that it was fixed. for blind kids, they might have special goggles like the night vision ones.
Do you guys think that if Snows granddaughter lived in say...uh I don’t know district 1 that she would not be involved in the reaping?
If she were from a District she would be like the other children
However, since she is related to the president, she would live in the Capitol. There would be no reason for her not to.
I know what you guys mean but imagine that she just lives in district 1 and not in the capital but is still the presidents granddaughter! Would she be reaped?
Funny Girl probably not, since she still is related to the president. But who knows!
Yeah! The boy from district 10!
D10 male in the 74th hunger games was injured too.
I love your channel I wouldn’t fake anything cause I don’t want to get wiped
What happens if you turn 19 on the day of the reaping. Would you still have to go??
What if the pregnant lady gave birth in the arena what would happen? Or if she was so far along would she be able to go into the games?
She would go into the Games regardless of how far along she was. As for if she gives birth, the gamemakers would likely recover the infant and send it to the mother’s family until she came home (if she survived the Games)
Maybe a hovercraft would take it to the Capitol and return it to their district if it was born.
