Rick, there is only one word to describe your trip, the views, the photographs and the music, all put together with the experience on your bike: SPECTACULAR!!! Thank you very much for sharing this masterpiece of solo bike traveling.
Back to watching it. I’ll be driving from Tennessee to LA and back again this thanksgiving, and this video is always an inspiration. Any update from this chap is welcome.
FANTASTIC RICK ! I couldn't stop watching your video ! I watched from beginning to end. I have motor cycled to many of the sights you showed and it brought back wonderful memories. Thank you Rick .
This was excellent! I watched the whole video straight through. I enjoyed your still photography as well...great composition and quality. Thanks for sharing!
Thank You for sharing. Summer '86 when I was a sophomore at Barstow High School. I worked at Baker Burger for Mr. Carter. He owned that Burger King and the one in Barstow at the time. When school started I transferred to Barstow with my good friend Jesse. Good times and Great Memories.
Well done Rick! Your video of your epic trip is an inspiration for this Kiwi (New Zealander) to come visit your great country and do some serious riding.
Wow! What an amazing journey. Beautiful scenery, a few bad days in the snow was ok, but never fails to rain on the way back. Alot reminded me of the spaghetti westerns and scenery as well. Glad you made it safe and without roadside breakdowns. Thank you for sharing you journey with us.
When I was younger, I toured extensively throughout the US west; however, I was never able to accomplish as much as you did as I was nowhere near as "hard core" as you were. Well done !!
Stumbled upon your videos and I really enjoyed watching them. I have a 2003 Concours. Same color as yours. I've never been able to do a road trip on my bike but someday would love too! Thanks for sharing your trips!
I just stumble onto this video and I really enjoyed it. We take yearly cross country motorcycle trips and I can relate to what poor planning can lead to -lol. Great Job with this video, southern Utah is my wifes favorite part of the country to ride thru. Great music selection, imo. Thanks for sharing!
I want to do this trip. This might be as close as I get, but you never know. Thank you very much for taking me there...! Great video, with excellent stills photography! Well done!
Thanks for putting this together, good job! It was a fun watch for me as I had ridden many of the roads to many of the places you chronicled in this video last year as well. Utah in particular was a spectacular place for riding, nice to ride it again vicariously through your video. :)
excellent video, i went through part of your venture in 2016 and am going west again this summer. You are helping me decide my route, thanks and keep up the great videos and adventures!!!!
Thanks, Tom. Be sure to check out the SPOT link in the description above to see the exact route including dates & times, speed, where I stopped each night (Green Flags). Click any dot to see details, and use the adjustments menu to increase the track detail.
Thank you for taking the time to share your motorcycle adventure. I watched the whole movie and enjoyed every mile. I live in Iowa and consider myself a long-distance rider having owned a number of bikes including the C10 and now a 2013 C14. Again, great movie.
Rick, EXCELLENT VIDEO, Great to watch on a cold and rainy day in November. Made me go out in the garage and sit on the Ultra Classic and smile. 2020 I will make a very similar trip! Thanks again and safe riding!
Hey Rick: Out of all the biker videos i have ever seen this one is by far the best!!! This is excellent work, i thoroughly enjoyed every minute and will watch it many times over! Ride safe Bro keep your knees in the breeze!!!
WOW.....This takes me back. 30 years ago I lived in the USA and Canada. I travelled all over the West coast of US and into middle America. The scenery was spectacular and the people I met along the way were the most hospitable I have encountered anywhere. I was based in Vancouver, Canada which I explored from West to East ( Toronto etc). I’m glad you had a safe trip Rick. 🏍
Great video. I love moto touring and camping the American Southwest. The corridor from Salt Lake City through Vegas down to Lake Havasu, AZ is one of my favorite rides. Thanks for sharing the trip with us! Aloha!
Rick your trip did the trick. I loved it!! This video of your trip proves what I have been saying for sometime now. America is a big country with so much to see. We should visit other countries, but America our home has a lot to offer also. Rick you have me pumped up brother. It's time for me to get my knees in the breeze. Traveling America by motorcycle is the best and I'm going for it Sir. Now what's up for 2015? Keep doing what your doing and be safe.
Well, quite a trip. Have to say through your seat and out through your eyes you showed me some of the sights I really aught to be looking at through my eyes. Thanks for a wonderful film.
I know this is the second time I have watched this through, I did a lot of your west coast roads in '08 but wasn't videoing as much as I do now. Love all your south-west footage. Making me want to plan another trip down that way.
Dude, I think your trip inspired me and my Dad. Me and him drove all the way from Long Island, NY all the way to Riverside, WY. We stopped at various KOAs along the way including in Nebraska in the corn fields and majority of the nice one in Colorado. We did all of this on the back of the bike as well for 3 weeks riding, exploring and enjoying the view, and y'know what? It's the best trip I ever had in my entire life and like my Dad said, a trip on a bike is FAR different than a trip in a car or truck.
That's Awesome!! Great respect for the two of you. So many people talk about a grand trip like that, but few actually follow through with it. Those memories will stick with you the rest of your life and the stories will be passed down to the next generation.
I watched the first 10 minutes then I couldn't stop. Sure would have loved hearing that iconic engine, though! Got a C10 in my garage too. Too bad you skipped the GC North Rim; you were so close. The ride into the one lodge there is fantastic. This is the best travel vlog I've seen. Very well done. Thanks for posting.
Just Watched in 2021 and enjoyed every minute. This was an epic journey and I envy your adventure, but I could not have done it on a bike ;-). Wife and I drove your route from Vegas around Zion, Bryce and over to Monument Valley and it was amazingly beautiful. But we cheated and flew in and back from Vegas. Stayed a night in Bluff, Ut and ate at that diner under those two standing rock formations. Thanks for the memories.
Back in '92 I did a CC in 39 hours drive time. Left Los Angeles at 4:00 PM Thursday, got home to NJ 9:00 AM Saturday (Christmas day). That's why the rush. Taking into consideration time zone changes that's 39 hours. I never new there was an actual award for that til this vid. Many thanks for an enjoyable ride along with you. PS, I didn't actually get the boots wet but I figure I was close enough ! You went all out, very cool.
oh my god~~it's awesome~~~really good to c a clip... I have looked for many of this type clip on RUclips and this is actually one of the best! thanx guy~god bless u~~
Thanks for the great synopsis of lots of places on my bucket list to ride. Great footage, great summary of such incredible natural wonders. I also enjoyed you nfld trip, given that I live in New Brunswick and hope also to bike there soon. I just think how fortunate if you blow a wheel bearing that it was 900 miles north on James Bay shores.
I don't understand why you don't have more subscribers. Your videos are magnificent and awe inspiring please keep sharing. I'm glued to your videos. Then I go ride my F6b. Then I return and watch more 3-4 hours later 😀. Your videos make my solo rides more exciting. Great Job. The best I've discovered so far.
Great Video Rick! I have watched all of the videos you have posted and they are great. I live in Utah and it is a wonderful place to ride. It was fun to see it through another person's perspective.
Great job. My attention span sucks... I normally jump from video to video but this and your Alaskan trip I watched and enjoyed every minute. What incredible perseverance. God Bless, Stay safe.
I used to own a 2003 Concours but I sold it because of that incredible vibration in the handlebars so total respect for being able to ride that far with your motorcycle. aside from the Connie buzz it was an awesome bike.
There must have been something wrong with your bike. I owned a 2004 Concours and I didn't notice any vibration at all or at least anything I'd consider a vibration.
Great movie, I´ve been in the Southwest (Nationalpark- Area) twice and it was a very stunning experience. Thanks a lot for that movie and have a good time. Greetings from Germany!
Great video! Living in the West and being something of an adventurer myself, I recognized many of the locations you visited! Now I need to take my bike out again!
Well done Rick. I am in the Pacific North West and have been to several of the areas and parks you have shown, they are beautiful. Absolutely stunning scenery in Zion and Bryce National Parks...and of course the Mokey Dugway. Well done! :{)
Brother that's a sensational trip... stay off those dirt roads though! Lol. Now you have to go back and chase Peaks & Passes. Pikes Peak, Mt Evans, Independence Pass, Trail Ridge Road, Bear Tooth Pass, and Road to the Sun (Glacier)!!! Always nice to have something to look forward to!
Joe here again.. that trip across Texas at night must have really challenged you. I have crossed the same path a dozen times and hated it every time. First trip I-10 was not completed past San Antonia to Ft Stockton. Made it a bit more interesting. Did trip last Sept and in a car. It was grueling. Nothing changes. At night did you have close encounters with wild life. Still enjoy watching all your trips. Watch this one couple times.
The parking area just as you are leaving Zion after the one lane tunnel has a great short hike showing the valley looking up at Angel’s landing. Great view if had time. Great vid
Thanks a very well done video of your ride coast to coast. Congrat's on that endurance challenge. Your bike must have held up very well and been comfortable riding. That was interesting scenery on your ride from Death Valley up to Baker. That's where I left off, for now. I will revisit to see more of your ride. I have to say, I love my solo rides. I'm free to go and stop along the way, as I like, no pressure from others.
I must say this is the best video on RUclips I ever watched the scores being played are great the 34 hour coast to coast was insane that took some guts and an iron butt 🤭

Absolutely stunning scenery, epic road trip. Thank you for making this video. I'm inspired to attempt this on my sporty with an after market seat. Washington state to Brice canyon would be enough for me. Again thanks

Never understood all they hype on the 'buzz'. I get the typical inline 4 buzz, but nothing I would consider annoying
