    Awesome haul Daz! I really enjoyed this video. Getting cacti on your wishlist was so cool but getting a free one was truly amazing! Great root systems all around but I really liked seeing them being potted. Also what made the video perfect was the closeup pictures at the end. There I could really appreciate their beauty. Thanks for sharing. Sending you and Edith peace, love and happiness for a wonderful weekend my friend!

    Great plants Daz!!! The meloformis is on my list also. I lost mine a couple of years ago. This is another plant that used to be common to find. Much rarer now!!! Like Astrophytums & cephalocereus senlis. All hard to find now!! copiapoa on the list also!! Thanks for sharing these beautiful plants with us Daz!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, to the UK 🇬🇧 and Singapore 🇸🇬 have a wonderful day!!! Peace, Love,!!!✌️💖🌵🍀🌻🌳🌱🌾🥀🌷🌴🌹🪴💐😃👍

    Beautiful selection of Neue, Cacti and Euphorbia. I meant to ask this, but I kept forgetting. What does the number mean in your compost? I keep seeing #1 or #2 or something on the John Innes (?) compost

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much, Ana 😊 The John Innes compost here is numbered from #1 to #3. #1 is more of a seed sowing compost with low levels of nutrients. #2 contains moderate levels of fertilizer and is the main one cactus growers in the UK use, and #3 contains the highest levels of fertilizer and is suitable for mature plants growing in pots, such as shrubs, small trees, perennials, and conifers. Thank you for watching and commenting as always, Ana. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌺🌼🌸🏜☕️

    • @CactusCaffeine
      @CactusCaffeine Год назад +1

      Ah, I thought the numbers determine how fine or course the mix is. Lol! It did not even occur to me that it is according to the amount of fertilizer in it. Thanks for the info, Daz!

    Great video as always Daz.
    What is the depth of the 7 cm square pots?
    Also if you don’t mind what is the particle size of the potting soil ingredients?
    I am located in a small rural town in Australia and have to buy all my ingredients on line.
    And finally what is the Johnies No 2 compost like?
    Thanks for sharing such useful information
    I have only recently started my cacti journey and find your videos very helpful.
    Best wishes to you and Edith.

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much, Ted 😊 The depth of these pots are 7.5cm. Particle size ranges from about 2mm to 4mm. John Innes compost is good most of the time. You can occasionally get unlucky and get a bag of it with a lot of trash in, but here in the UK it’s a popular choice for cacti and succulents because of it being loam based, meaning it’s more sandy rather than having peat in it. Good luck on your cactus journey, but be warned, it can get very addictive haha. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful day and rest of the weekend from Edith & myself 👍🏻🌵☀️🌼🌺🏜

    Really stunning plants and good quality, some of the stuff i get sent here in DK are rotten mummies :x. What do you do for initial pest control and quarantine ? Best regards from Denmark :)

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Год назад +2

      Thank you 😊 Initial pest control is just a simple case of keeping any new plants isolated away from the main collection for a week or two. After they get their first watering they’ll be protected with the systemic pesticide I told you about the other day. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻🌵☀️🌺🌼🏜

    Hi Daz. When did you start using Zeolite in your mix?

    • @Cactimania
      @Cactimania  Год назад +1

      Hi, Peter. I’ve been using it for a while now. I only switched to it because at the time the place I get all my substrates from had no lava rock in stock. It pretty much has the same properties as lava rock so I just kept using it. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌼🏜
