- In this new travel video, I take a road trip to a really interesting part of Washington state to see evidence of what once was the largest waterfall in the world. At Dry Falls State Park in central Washington, you can see where the falls used to be... and downriver you can see the giant coulee where the water used to flow. Further downriver, large boulders fill a field where they were deposited by flood waters about 15,000 years ago after an ice dam gave way and released a tremendous flood from glacial Lake Missoula.
Something is wrong with the audio.
Sounds like you are talking into a Dixie Cup walkie-talkie.
Go in to the settings and make sure you're watching in HD. I noticed the same thing as you the first time I watched it, and looked at the settings and discovered RUclips had chosen a playback video quality of 240p... and that tremendously lowers the audio quality. If you set the playback quality to 720p or better, you should notice the audio improves.
This is one of the best videos explaining Lake Missoula and the glacial floods
I love your videos and your voice. For this vlog the audio had a high end frequency that seemed to surf along with you voice. It could me my phone but anyway, thanks for what you do.
I was fortunate to fly over Dry Falls on a flight from Spokane to Seattle. I had taken a field trip there when I was in 4th grade. Seeing the “scar” the flood made on the land was an awesome moment.
Brings back memories of growing up in moses lake Washington
An amazing video! Thank You so much! My wife Leslie and I absolutely love your videos! Keep up the awesomeness!
Thanks Jim for the great video! I love learning about our beautiful area of Eastern, WA. Cheers
Great video. I had never heard of this. Sadly I will probably never get to that area, but I always like unusual feology
Awesome video!
I read somewhere that when the whole event kicked off the face of the falls was actually 18 to 20 mi south of where it is at present.
Were you nervous flying your drone? Any artifacts in the area? Seems like that may have been scared ground to some.
Some claim the flooding reoccurred as many as forty times. Thanks Jim.
I've heard that it may even have been closer to 100. But in looking at the strand lines on the hills above Missoula, I don't see anywhere near that many lines. But then again, maybe the lake filled to the same level on several different occasions. I figured the best thing to do was to use a conservative number in my video.
0:00 a bit low quality sound :(

The quality is at 2160p and is still bad quality.
I can’t get higher resolution on my device and location 😢
I think there’s a problem with the audio 😢
Watch it at higher resolution and the audio is fine. Go in to the settings to change the resolution to a higher setting.
😢 I can’t. RUclips says it use most data on higher settings.
Try watching the video when you are using a WiFi connection rather than a cellular connection. That way it's no problem if you set your phone to use the most data. Of course, when you're done, set it back to a lower setting so that you'll use less data next time you are watching videos on a cellular connection.
