Beautifully proportioned cars, you rarely ever see them for sale.
The factory they used to make them at was taken over by tvr i believe to test their engines....used to hear them firing them up to destruction as i worked nearby....great little cars n rare as fxxk

😂thats my dads old Rochdale. He cut the roof off in the 80s and we went to loads of meets in it.

Complete pile of crap . So poor construction and simply no body bought them . Secondhand they sold for nothing and no real owners except fot club members were interested who were delusional enough to think they were special . A joke . Noise rattles and shakes the life out of you on any trip .
I think the picture on the track will sell it, it looked fantastic. The guy was a gent too

If you get the chance 5th May Steyning village high St has has its "Vintage Revival festival . Its only its second year, last year had some really rare classics I'm sure you'd like it. Also just have a drive round the village you will be surprised what's on driveways and gardens. ( a very very rare Ferrari a 1952 BMW or so I'm told, it looks older tbh)
Very unique find. My only worry is that the strength of the body is compromised by the roof cut off. No chassis, how is the handling affected.
My dad cut the roof off in the 80s and reinforced the shell. Seems to have held up well in 40 odd years

I haven't seen a Rochdale Olympic for many a year and this one is a convertible as well. What a find Stu. Such a rare find. Hats off to Chris for allowing you to show this hidden gem of a British sports car.
and with a $50,000 dollar plus restoration , it will once again look like brand new !

Never heard of Rochdale I was thinking it was a jaguar but really nice of the bloke to take cover off a showing and he can't work on he's own car on the drive how stupid someone will want to buy the car you can tell the bloke looked after it and enjoyed driving it and it can't work on it at he's rented house 🤬😡 good find again stu 👍

These cars that are for sale, maybe you should arrange to help fix them up and get them sold and take a % “Potentially for sale” seems to sound like “not really arsed what happens” which is a shame
I wonder what the convertible conversion did to the structural rigidity, but what a striking car! Those big driving lights are really cool, the side view gives me a little Mazda Cosmo and I’m a sucker for a trunk rack… Sorry, boot rack?
Brilliant find, it’s heritage is the Ford Special era of the 50’s as mentioned to avoid purchase tax and own a sports car as ready made availability after the war was rare. Still have my 1958 Falcon special on the road after 56 years of ownership complete with its sidevalve engine. Great fun, I hope the Rochdale finds a new home rather than decaying in the garden.
I love the respect you show to the folk you meet on your videos. I have only seen one of these incredible cars (it was fitted with a Riley 1.5 litre B series engine.The car was parked along with a Morris Minor MM in a street in Hitchin in the late '90's, even gave the gentleman a handbook for his Minor

If you have a look on the net stu at a midas very similar and they run a metro engine or mini a series engine from dice keep up the good work 👍
Great little car was one in a field for years near near me, Shame the roofs been chopped off.
Let's hope someone is interested in this rare gem and keeps it alive. Cars like these are a rarity.
