- Our all-new G6129T-89VS Vintage Select ’89 Sparkle Jet with Bigsby pays homage to a classic late-’80s design that rocked the forefront of the Pacific Northwest grunge movement that overtook the music world in the early 1990s.
Delivering signature solid-body power and punch, the G6129T-89VS features period-correct chambered mahogany construction, which magnifies harmonic richness by letting air resonate between the top and body for livelier and more articulate tone. TV Jones TV Classic Plus bridge and TV Jones TV Classic neck pickups replicate that unmistakable vintage Filter’Tron sound to fabulous sonic effect, and can be intuitively commanded using a versatile control layout featuring master volume with treble bleed circuit, master tone, individual pickup volume controls, and three-way pickup toggle switch.
Other features include a maple set neck, 12”-radius rosewood fingerboard with pearloid Hump Block inlays, bone nut, G-arrow knobs, Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, Adjusto-Matic bridge with pinned rosewood base, and Gotoh tuners.
This grunge-era beauty comes in Gold Sparkle or Silver Sparkle finishes with silver pickguard, nickel hardware, and late-’80s black headstock with Gretsch logo and horseshoe inlay.

That GREAT Gretsch sound! That sparkle and shine! I am in 😻!
Billy Zoom's weapon of choice!!!
Forget about the guitar. Holy cow man you rock!😱🤯🫠
Pizza & beer, peanut butter & jelly, Greg & a Gretsch.
Sound’s sparkly
Interesting guitar. Not sold on the drive tones but wow the clean tones are of course amazing
You just knew that we'd get to hear some Chet Atkins - style chickin' pickin', when a Gretsch is in the lineup! Great stuff, Greg! 🔥❤👍
stellar playing!!!
Love your playing👌
Knowing that Greg Koch is out there somewhere, playing his thing fills me with hope for the future.
Play the whole Bo Diddley song! It sounded awesome.
Who silver sparkle with Alamo shaped inlays? This Spurs fan digs it!
Thanks Greg!
Thanks for watchin'
Didn’t George Harrison play one of these?
@@baronvontourettes a black duo jet - same body but 2 DeArmond single-coils a bit more 'direct' tone & less airy twang than filtertrons.
What was that last riff from??
Hello There - Cheap Trick (In Color)
Sounds great, but 9 pounds is too heavy for me. Maybe it could be filled with helium.
right I was shocked to see it at 9lbs. Yikes.
That's a brill idea! Put super consentrated helium so you can play standing up without a guitar strap, just a piece of string to stop it floating away!
@@giulioluzzardi7632 Ha ha!
all gretsch are pretty heavy the mahogany plus bigsby
@@soofitnsexy but they are not actually solid bodies, aren't they semi hollow? I played a friend's vintage select 59 and it wasn't particularly heavy. I never weighed it. Honestly it was just an OK guitar. He also had an Eastman 330 clone that was so much better in every way.
